I've been there and have been mugged twice in a one week vacation. Great place if you like young punks with knives blind-siding you while crossing the street leaving the beach (Ipamena). I don't care about the money they took, I did care that they slapped my girlfriend and demanded her watch.

wow, almost as if it was a sim city project gone wrong. Nicer buildings adjecent to really fcked up slums. Total lack of city planning and humanitarianism.
