Second though, if this person is a global warming "denier," then they're not basing it on Glenn Beck or anyone I know of, as even Glenn Beck admitted that global warming might be anthropogenic, though he didn't know to what extent. I would agree that you shouldn't dismiss evidence based on bias, but it's not one side that's doing it, it's both. I'm not saying you're necessarily dismissing them as I don't know what you've read on the subject, but even you pointed out that some people on the contra side are probably simply writing because they're getting paid by Big Oil.
If you want to remake the world economy because of a possible threat it you better have ironclad evidence and a plan that will address the problem. The alarmist have a lot of circumstantial evidence and all of the big polices are little more than power grabs. I also love how alarmist use the idea that money taints their opponents. Last I checked a 300 million, tens of BILLION, hundreds of BILLION, to a TRILLION is more than 23 million.
I tend to think that even if you could find these sources, deniers will find ways to ignore them out-of-hand. When the belief comes first and the evidence for it follows, you'll only be interested in the evidence that backs up the belief. I have disdain for climate change deniers as well. Even if they don't think the climate is changing, why don't they see the benefits of "living green". It's more efficient and healthier in the end.

And Mars is a good comparison because it is only 36 million miles farther from the sun than we are and is 1/3 the mass of Earth.
Still, evidence is solid that it had liquid water at one time, for just about a billion years. Pretty amazing.
