the live part of this video was filmed in Hamilton Ontario. It was at a bar that the name escapes me right now.....I know this because I am in the video. Way back in 1993, Ray and the band were performing in my hometown of St Thomas. Since we were leaving town that night, I called the nightclub in the afternoon, hoping to listen to their soundcheck. Not only were my wife and I welcomed, Ray even spent a few minutes chatting with us between songs and asked what we'd like to hear them rehearse! We kept in touch for quite a while after that. What a genuinely nice person and terrific musician!

Also, for those trivia buffs...on the cover it says only Ray Lyell (not including "and The Storm" beneath it). Interestingly enough, this CD is called The Ray Lyell Band.

My family just saw Ray perform in Caledonia, Ontario, on March 23, 2008, and he was terrific! In between performing his songs he talked about his life's journey as a musician. He is a very talented song writer and an incredible singer! What a voice! No kidding, he's a professional who makes it look easy. And, like others have said, he's a really great guy! We found him to be approachable and down to earth. There's not a bad song on his most recent album. Check it out.

The first time I ever saw Ray Lyell was about 6 weeks after a family member of my was killed. Some friends wanted to cheer me up a bit and took me to see him perform, front row. I just sat there crying.

During a break he came over to me and asked what was wrong. After some kind words and a few hugs I had to admit that my friends plan worked!

18 years later, and I still love this song! It's a shame Ray didn't have more success than he did. Still, he racked up a few Top 40, which is cool!
