back then, each organization represented a part of the country. AWA was based out of Minnesota. NWA was based out of Atlanta. WWF was based out of New York.
At the time when this was shown the NWA was based in St.Louis. Then Jim Crockett Promotions absorbed Florida and took over Georgia Championship Wrestling spots on TBS so then the hub was Charlotte. Atlanta wasn't the HQ until Ted Turned bought Jim Crockett Promotions.
The NWA was never a single wrestling promotion, it was a group of wrestling promotions that recognized the same world heavyweight champion. Because of the wrestling wars in the mid 80s many of those promotions either went out of business or were absorbed by Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling/Jim Crockett promotions, leaving that promotion as the defacto NWA.

I never heard of Tom Zenk until he teamed with Rick Martel as the Can-Am Connection in WWF.

A lot of (WWF) fans never heard of ANY wrestlers until they appeared in the federation.

I've never been much of a fan & used to watch AWA & NWA more. Maybe this was before AWA was on in my area.

Yeah, I know. When the AWA started doing the shows on ESPN was when I first became familiar with it. I think that was around 1986.
