  • Do bodyweight workouts and this will get you big in time...

  • Sounds like he is made of plastic... Good video. :)

  • This is proof that pull ups don't make you buffed.

  • @ElRancholo2 i'm an amateur fighter. never done a bench press in my life. being a fighter though its a different sport from weightlifting all together. at 6 foot 2, I weigh 14 stone , 5 percent body fat and have never touched gym equipment. Its a lot more work doing natural body work outs but I want to keep my flexibility and speed.

  • @WhenWeWereKings100 True, I don't disagree with that. I have fought MMA and boxing, and that is before I started bodybuilding, I was faster back then.

  • @ElRancholo2 depends what people go for. when i start slowing down i'm going too need to bulk up more to compensate for the loss of speed. what sort of routine you got going at the moment?

  • Has anyone tried this DVD? Judging by what it says on Bodyweight Basics, seems to be more of an upper body workout - which is fine with me! I was just wondering if anyone has purchased the DVD and what are their thoughts? Thanks!

  • The movement at peak contraction is really difficult. The core is even firing!

  • stop talkng and show us

  • MUSCLE UPS are still my favourite.

  • That pull-up bar set-up doesn't look very stable.

  • thanks for alignment info

  • anyone know where i can find a pull up bar like that one. Not one of those shitty door mounted ones or the ones you attach to your ceiling?

  • @sLevnZelevn i have a door mounted one and it has never caused me a problem in fact their really nice they have a lot of different hand grip positions to really workout your back and biceps

  • ....

  • Whats that chinup bar hes using? Does anyone know where it is sold?

  • only 6? I'm 15 i make 15...

  • Comment removed

  • Dude... when you're doing those pull-ups, it sounds like your joints are creaking. It's weird and gross. It's probably not that, but still....haha.

  • @john3236msu think its the pull up rack

  • im 13 only dope-free at 202lbs and 6'4", incredibly perfect shape(holding numberous records of physical fitness in my whole school)and i can do pull ups with rest and pause, 73 in a row with no stop from dead hang and no kipping. :)

  • @13andincrediblycut why do you feel the need to tell people random bullshit about yourself in every video?

  • @xxsk8r101xx Because he is a thick cunt

  • @13andincrediblycut wow thats impressive any chance of a video?

  • @quietstorm1977 Soon, all I can say. Be patient. XD

  • does anyone else get like a tingling feeling when the pads are like moving or stretching out?

  • good stuff :)

  • i keep hearing joints cracking

  • @Vexx00 thats just the pads around the bar

  • @Vexx00 xD this made my day lol

  • Anybody give me a pull up workout video that is not for beginners?

  • @Gabzerelli5 ..yeah same...I want one too. What I do is take a deck of cards, flip it over and draw one at a time. hearts=regular pushups, diamonds=diamond pushups, clubs=situps, and spades=pullups...if you do the whole thing you end up doing 85 or 95 reps of each depending if you make the aces 1 or 11. btw face cards are 10. do the amount and what is indicated on card

  • @Gabzerelli5 type barmasterz in and check out those videos

  • All these sh** talkers on this comment board should realize that not only is Maxwell strong, but he became Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion in his mid 40's,,

  • Great stuff I'v always enjoyed Steve Maxwells training tips ... for more body weight training ideas and workout programs take a look at my videos on my channel

  • i use my babies pull ups is that safe?

  • woo hoo free fitness dvd!

  • Put a shirt on.

  • @trudal987 I dont think he owns one

  • i just use my stairs for pull ups, lol

  • @AnubisEye009 what the fuck are you a convict?

  • @hs41982 cuz i use my stairs? nooo....im an engineering student, lol and my stairs have gaps that i use to grip and i just do pull ups, push ups, run, etc etc

  • @AnubisEye009 you do it i am so happy niggas are doing it real big on fb!

  • pull-ups are the best upper body workout, i love them, and this guys is in great shape for his age !

  • gay.. gay rules gay bar gay body gay everything .. gay video !!

  • @frostydevil93 And the name frostydevil isn't? lol

  • @frostydevil93 You really seem to like the word "Gay".

  • @frostydevil93 And gay the ones who post videos finding gayness where there isn't

That happens to gays still in the closet who get aroused by men in shorts working out. Get real and out of the closet frostydevil93

  • these aren't good form pull-ups. it's not dead weight.

  • these pull ups R HARD!

  • i love pull ups

  • what a loser with a shit build

  • @VERONESEDAN , he became a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion in his mid 40's.. Say that to his face..

  • the guy has leg problems he has an opening ... hes not for boxing .. BOriiing! i train to box damn it ¬¬

  • A good video and good information, too, although his shoulders are cracking more than a gaggle of pop rocks.

  • this guy is fucing retard!!

  • if this guy is a god damn personal trainer why does he not have any fluidity while doing this exercise?

  • Firstly he doesnt record one segment a day hes probably been filming all day. secondly you try it

  • you must be on drugs

  • Вата какая-то.

  • lousy video. u shld watch hannibal. trying typing hannibal in youtube

  • Read "The Naked Warrior" by Pavel Tatsouline for explanation on the best method to increase strength (but no size) in any exercise.

The method is called GTG- Grease The Groove

  • that bar looks really flimsy lol.

i never heard of the around the world chins though, thanks good vid

  • i'm doing 80 reps a day, three times a week, is this enough? or should i increase?

  • i do 100 a day every day, its not much harder than what your doing

  • you should not be doing pull ups every day.... thats very very silly. for muscles to grow they obviously need time to build up. put a rest day in between and do some push exercises like pushups on that rest day.

  • even if i do them in sets of 5 spaced out through a few hours?

  • brayden is right

while working out you get micro tears in your muscle , which your body repairs by adding a new layer of muscle , thus the muscle grows.

this takes place after a workout , while muscles are resting.

now if you have an intense workout one day and then the same thing the next day , your overtraining and your muscles will not grow .

the bigger the muscle the harder it should work and the more rest it needs ( eg: legs can take 5-6 days to heal completely after an Intense workout)

  • This isnt bodybuilding.

  • @qnsboxer422

im not a bodybuilder :P nor was i referring to bodybuilding, i was talking about how your body works in general whatever your training for.. be it mass , strength or endurance, overtraining is an issue.

overtraining means no gains, as in no gains in neither strength or mass, and possibly damaged CNS.

even if your training for endurance (light weight high reps) its good to have rest days for your CNS and joints to recover, ( not to mention tendons and muscles)

  • no no no mann. you will impove sooooo much more of you do fewer sets and more reps. any workout you do should only be about 45 minutes long (not including cardio). push yourself hard every set, and you wont have to spend hours and hours training.

  • Thanx for the tip man! I was about to start doing them every day! do you think that puting a rest day is enough for muscles to grow?

  • if it is a really really intense workout, then sometimes you need two days to recover. but on most workouts you only need one day of rest.

  • definitely suggest a days rest in between workouts, i've been following a Men's Health workout 3 times a week, the workout plan came with the pull up bar set and that shit has cut my whole body up. I've done it for six weeks now and have lost over 20 pounds. went from 140 to 120 and i got super cut, the resting period in between workouts definitely benefits you in the end. however on my rest day, i do shit ton of cardio

  • No, you can PRACTICE pullups every day like the ''grease the groove method'', you just shouldnt be doing pullups til failure every day.

  • いいからさっさとやれよ!

  • Doesn't the around-the-world pullup put similar strain on the elbows and wrists as the hand positions he mentioned in the beginning? How long does it take to build up your muscles and tendons to prevent injury?

  • no offense for the guy, but there is no fuckin ultimate workout or whatever :D.... just an exercise... :)

  • there are good workouts and bad workouts. Great workouts only last 3-6 weeks...

  • Steve Maxwell is a badass.

  • Some of you nay sayers have no Idea who Steve Maxwell is or what the fuck you are talking about, the guy has forgotten more about fitness, strength and joint mobility then any of you will ever know. on top of that he is an ex NCAA collegiate wrestler, Brazilian Jiujitsu Pan American and world Champion Black belt . strength and conditioning coach for professional athletes, Diego Sanchez amongst others... what have you done? I have known Steve for close to 15 years he was my first jj instructor.

  • has forgotten?!

  • dont make a pullup video if you can only do 6

  • You're an idiot. This is technique #14... he does like 40 before this in previous techniques. He doesnt shoot the video doing 1 technique every few hours. Post your pullup video. k thx.

  • i will send it to ya

  • k, share it with me

  • i will take a day i still have to make it

  • jimpfixer obviously you have no idea how this guy is , I mean hi;s a huge legend , very respected in the fitness community , so you better do some research before speak up.

  • he just move his head not the body...he isnt good

  • oh and fyi the cracking sound is the rubber or padding on the bar thats squeeking on the metal bar under

  • shouldnt be locking out his arms on the way down bad for elbows

  • your bar dosent seem very safe

  • he's not pro hahah LMaOoo

  • as always a great video

  • Excellent video and information, and he's superb, especially for an older man. However, he did have a few pop rocks in his shoulders.

  • i don't see how these would be any different on you joints if your shifting back and fourth out of allignment...

  • my thoughts exactley

  • thanks for the video mate

  • easy workout

  • that would be impossible because his lower abs end right there!

  • IS THAT YOUTUBE MAGIC OR THIS GUY REALLY HAS NO BELLY BUTTON , IS THIS KYLE XYZ's DAD!? cause he been lookin for him

  • hes got a belly button you numskull, His shorts are covering it

  • I can hear his joints crackle!

  • lol me too

  • im pretty sure thats the machine rattling dude^_^

  • he has no belly button

  • that weird sound going on in the clip.. are those your bones???

  • squeeze OUT ONE MORE!!!!!

  • Haha...

It looks like his bar is about to break...

  • In my experience older athletes usually don't give good advice. Because their used to older workout techniques which are a strain on joints. That explains why he has sore joints etc. He also has terrible technique when he rotates over to his right(our left).

  • give that guy a klondike bar.

  • hey wehe can i but this bar and those rings???

  • lol u are one old dude waz up with ur bones anyways good advice

  • aight

  • dude his equipment is going to snap on him. i though it was going to rock over lol

  • LMAO his equipment is s old as him

  • Wow....this is a fitness DVD. He has shitty form and goes too fast.....I do them better than him...if anyone is considering getting this DON'T! Get P90X works for me.

  • this is steve maxwell.. im sure you could do better than him if you were his age right? right. maxwell is 54 btw.

  • OWW are his bones breaking lmao

  • The guy has a very good comment on the neutral grip (palms facing each other) I've done those a coupple of weeks , which resulted in elbow pains, could it be that the neutral grip doesnt work?

  • You want powerful arms/shoulders/lats?

Just hang on the bars, do 6 sets for as long as you can 3 times a week for 4 weeks...and then you will do pull ups with ease...take it from the monkeys in the trees

  • i like the way u put it monkeys in trees, gave u thumbs up lol

  • What if i told you that my arms/shoulders and back has become so much more powerfull, you should try it.

  • lol@you!

  • best 2 do first thing in morning when you get up. i find that if you glue some razor blades 2 the bar using this technique u can save time shaving in the morning. that way if your fa ce , head, chest, and armpits r cleanly shaved like this guy u know u've done the exercises properly. i swear by it!!!

  • @bryngOneOn

    hahahaha XD nice !

  • His elbows bowed in so more of the concentration is on his bicep's.. if you flay out your elbows it works more of your back

  • omg that crackin sound was hardcore

  • I love it! Just did some and plan on making them part of my everyday workout. Thanks for sharing :)

  • ive been training for ages and can do twice of what he just did. but he looks so much more buff than me im only a little above average

  • Damn that crunching sound that starts when he does pullups is fucking crazy i think hes bones are crackling

  • buy that man a shirt!

  • Defenitely he have 55 yrs age

  • Steve Maxwell is a monster. He's fitter and looks better than most guys half his age.

  • What's that terrible crunching sound as he's doing the pull ups??

  • You have to understand -> he's old. kno what i mean? lol hahahahaha xD xD xD ok that wasn't funny .,. lol

  • hey where did you buy that metal pull up bar

  • thats not really the ultimate upper body workout

  • Dammmm, that guy is close to death. It's in the eyes, he knows.

  • LOL!

  • If you want to build up your upper body muscles don't talk like him for more then half of the time...

    dude that was freaking annoying

  • if you want to build muscle and lose weight fast go to: combatingfat.blogspot, com

  • Isn't he British?

  • pull ups i making 30 but dead hangs its harder so i make only 15

  • damn, your pull up bar is about to tip over

  • i have done 36 pullups and when i was 11 i did 17 and it is true. you just need training.

  • did you actually spell faggot wrong

  • guys pullups are great try p90x this program works for real, you'll be doing more pullups no time

  • u dong need to rotate anything lol just pull ur body haa

  • AGREE 100%...

  • wow how old is he?

  • pull ups are hard. i can only do about 8 full length pull ups right now.

  • i just did 11 for my school

  • The guy is great. He's muscled without being a 'Worm-man' and he's doing the thing and explaining it well. Re post below - you can hear him breathing through the exercises.

What would annoy me is the frame looks/sounds like its about to fall down!

  • I own one of these pull-up units (Torque Athletic) -- they are sturdy and will not fall over but the clanking is definitely annoying and distracting.

  • when i do pull ups my body tends to tremble and shake after 4 pull-ups, i can do ten at one time but i hate the fact that my body does that, does anyone know what i can do to stop that?

  • The tremble you experience is your central nervous system reacting to an exercise it is not used too. Just keep it up and the shaking will go away. I used to have the same problem, but now it's gone.

  • Do some free hand exercise with Dumbells .Increase ur arms strength & try ur pull-ups after a month or so ^_^

  • Instead of doing a set of 10, do something like 3 sets of 4. Just keep that up adding a pull up to each set every week or so. Pretty soon you're body will get used to the movement and you'll be able to do the 10 pull ups without shaking.

  • it IS ok to breath as you workout

  • of corse when you exert energy you breath out like in a push up breath in on the way down and out on the way up

  • haha i know, i said it IS ok, not IS IT. cause the guy didnt seem to be breathing

  • Nah, he wasn't breathing right alot of energy was lost that way.

  • That guy is killing his joints by doing this exercise like that.

  • This guy is old. He doesn't look like a beginner. If they not hurting his joints now then he doing it right for him.

  • this guy is probably as old as your dad and hes doing this fine, obviously this isnt bad for his joints.

  • I dont like his form !!

  • what color are you

  • LOL that popping

  • congratulation!!!!

  • ty for posting!
