holy rats ass i see a few hate comments on here...fuck people get a life...its just music not a "lets slander other ethnic groups band" music is what you make of it regardless of the color of the singer
Love it, it's a lot more clearer than the original so you can actually hear the words, a wonderful tribute boys! Mmm, boys that can sing....*drooling *
They are trying pretting well!!!! They have a wonderfull harmony too. i must say i like it very well. It is clear that we should not compare with the original version from the group "Lady smith black mabazo" from south africa, for the simple reason that they have that cultural background wich cannot be imitated and the voices also are irreplaceble.
But this group is just great and doing a good JOB!!!! Stay blessed! You will do better and even greater. Let love lead!
well done to this group, this is what world unity and cultural exchange look like . I grew up listen to this song back at home in South Africa and I am proud of your tribute to the great LBM.
I loved this .. maybe not as in your face as the original but the harmonies were outstanding and the whole permorfance left me with a huge grin on my face. Well done boys ! xxx
Austrians singing a modern African song in English....it's called 'Having An Open Mind and Heart', it's called 'Grace'. Unlike rent, that's free to ALL...ONE LOVE, Yeah!
Being the critical type that I am, and South African, I really have to say that I enjoyed this..... Absolutely brilliant !!! going to watch some more of these boys.....very impressive !!!
You should have never touched, kiddnapped the Hidden Ones, the true Yahudim and brought them to the America's. You will have to answer for the sins of your fathers.
Being a member of a choir in Castricum, Holland, named Cascantar, we also sing similar songs which I love. Lady Blacksmith Mambazo I know from their cooperation with Paul Simon, and I think these Voices are very good too.
beautiful. First time I've heard anyone sing this song other than Ladysmith Black Mambazo - I am impressed :). Brings back beautiful childhood memories of the Paul Simon Graceland concert.
Its not a matter of skin color or even nationality. This is a matter of pure talent and soul. These guys have talent and soul and thats all that matters to me. Skin color is just a minor detail that has no bearing on thier talent.
As much as i enjoy the sound of this, I couldn't help but laugh, I know it is very shallow and yet stereotype of me to feel that way.But , I'm sorry this is pretty odd for me..Other than Paul Simon I couldn't picture a while man let alone a groupd of white man singing this. May be if i close eyes, it wud have seem genuine, other than that i don't think so..
Say what you want, but I've been singing in (great) choirs for 40 years now. If this was only audio and no video, you would never know these guys were white. The basses achieve a truly african resonance in their voice. The accent, pronounciation, and intonation are perfect. Of course I love the original, but this was a great performance.
amazing, but it will never have the same soul as BMB, Its good and came back here to listen to it again but I dont get this chill in my whole body when I hear BMB.
Nothing to take away from these guys, to have the same soul ud would have to be born into the same situation, + well concert for zimbo was a very special moment that is now totally lost.
For all the "they suck" and the "they're not black" comments... it's called a cover. They did it as a tribute. They know full well what a great ensemble lbm is.
Really, what's there to understand about it being a tribute? No one in their right mind would even think that these white guys from Austria are attempting to be like black guys from S. Africa. Even if you look at it with a most cynical eye, imitation is still the most sincere form of flattery.
These guys sing my favorite part of this song with such power and feeling that I can't help but really love them. Starting at 2:23 to the end. Seriously guys amazing job.
I listen to thi sclip alot and I think you guys did a great job. Mabey you could more feeling into it but still you did a good job. LAdysmith would still be proud.
you know now that I'm at the end I'm a bit offended that the audience just sat there. just because it is a church nobody can show some emotion and stand up and cheer? holler a bit back to show them how well they did, that is a fucking tough song to pull off like they did.
*g* It isn't a church. It's the Musikverein in Vienna where the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra is performing their New Year's Concert every year. Maybe the grandeur of the hall prevented the audience from getting to their feet. :)
I have to say that these young men have done a wonderful job with the vocals. Their sound and diction are very good from what I can tell.

Bonjour,
Ciao.
