  • sorry but time for a better dog : (

  • I like you mate! You love nature, you do not destroy it. The most of the farmers kill wild foxes and wolves...Respect to you!

  • You must be the easiest going chap in england ....... that toby would have had a bullet in him in seconds if he took the piss like that round here !!!!!

  • @bigbird540 Easiest going bloke in Wales mate :)

  • @howshawthebrave Good video ..... very interesting ...... but the toby would have to have the bullet :-)

  • Doesn't seem to be afraid. Should be able shoot it without a problem. Hope you don't lose any hens.

  • SHOTGUN!!

  • the fox is like, "Oh, just checking out the cute looking chicks." Then, he later retracts on his intial statement is like, "But, then again, they look very, very tasty!"

  • or a cap gun might help

  • Looks like the fox is eating well, problem is he isnt scared of you. May bring you back something terrible like rabies. Move him on...

  • man get yourself a new dog cuz that rottie is crap

  • @Ossters Horses for courses mate. You want to try outrunning him?

  • @howshawthebrave loll yes come one mate , if he was a good one he would eating his way true the fence

get yourself a lurcher or a good gun and be responceble for the safty of your chickens

  • fascinating vid!

  • shoot basil!!!!!

  • put more vids up of your dog chasing foxes and pests, love em :)

  • breath of fresh air to see someone who sounds like he would not halm the fox even tho his chicks are at risk good northern lad

  • needs to be shot mate,

  • One of my chickens actually got attacked by a fox, I woke up one morning and my parents had let the chickens out. So I went downstairs and seen an orange thing running, and I could hear the chickens go crazy. Before I knew it, the fox had my chicken. I started banging my window and quickly chased it. I thought the chicken was gone, but it fell off a 6 FEET WALL! It had escaped and it's skin had been punctured. It is still alive and well and made a full recovery :)

  • crazy anyone would think that fox was tame .... maybes reared by humans maybe not but it has had a lot of human contact in the past .... never seen anything like that

  • That's not a fox.

    That's a honeybadger.

  • has this man no shotgun?

  • @MrEmurray9 I don't want to give the Bizzies the right to come poking around my house when they feel like it so no!

  • Great video. its nice to see someone on you tube who respects wildlife, instead of killing it, or sicking the dog onto it. Id get the chickens into a fox proof fence.

  • It's a good BB gun shooting practice opportunity. Wish I had the chance.

  • It is amazing footage , i can tell by your videos your a good man but you do have a duty of care to your domestic animals , a domestic animal has the right to feel safe from harm like that. It must be incredibly stressful for chickens to be fleeing for there life like that so often. Your really should invest in a proper fox proof chicken coop if your keeping chickens in a wood/forest. your videos are really good though. best wishes.

  • Farmer: "Off you go"

Fox: "wait i have to pee" *Pee's on tree, then walks off*

Farmer: "What? No chickens for you!"

    Fox: "denied"

  • Perhaps firecrackers, some electric fencing, or a BB gun may help you there.

  • you obviously have a lot of compassion for animals, the fox as well for your chickens. you talk to/about them in such a respectful manner, it made me smile

  • one big fox i love it let him eat one please

  • i'd say someone around you is feeding him, cheeky little bugger.

  • nice animals. but i agree with smokinbarrells.

  • a spade and a patterdale terrier wud fix him.....also you really cant blame the fox haha u own a chicken pen bang wallop in the middle of a forest ha

  • dog aint much cop - shoot him same time as charlie

  • the fox is only doing what is natural for him, he is hungry, he is a carnivore after all, its humans that are weird for eating animals when in nature we are herbivores, but great to see that you care, nice vid

  • @debvegandeb In nature we're herbivores?! Oh dear. No we're not. In nature, we're hunter gatherers who fish as well.Humans are a natural occurence. We are with nature, not seperate from it. Chimps and bonobos, our closest 'wild' relatives hunt smaller primates, eat insects, birds eggs etc. Pandas and koalas are some of the few true vegetarian/vegan animals, and they are incredibly unhealthy due to limited diet. They're also very stupid. Even cattle eat fallen chicks and smashed eggs

  • @claoufaeng well i have been vegan for 25 years, and i weigh 12 stones and is very fit, horses are not stupid and they wont go no where near flesh, , and even if you say cattle eat smashed eggs and fallen eggs, why do we cage hens, kill male chicks and throw them away, why not eat them, why cook ALL flesh and eggs, WHY dont we need the urge to eat the brain tendons bones and heart, like a fox, please look at my link i have left you,

  • he is a released fox bet the animal welfare twats were letting him go

  • I would have got the spade and the dog for that bastard!!!

  • Give his a chicken leg then he will leave you alone

  • @Hillsideanimal Nah, he'll return within the hour for more. Only feed them if you plan to feed them enough and want them around. Have to say, though normally against feeding them, I quite like this fella.

  • Looks like the work of the RSPCA or some other clowns, releasing tame foxes back into the wild.

  • Hungry = brave!

  • shoot the fox. problem solved

  • @damianallen89 Just use a shotgun at that range, makes it 100% humane i.e. lights out.

  • Fox=Problem, Shotgun+Fox=Chicken's Best Friend. Simple maths.

  • Very neat video, I enjoyed watching this!

Thank you very much for sharing your adventure with a fox!

    Take care,

    Jareth

  • Interesting U have Ur work cut out. Do U still have Duke, how old is he? He's a very good gard dog, I'd love to meet him. Red foxes & rottweiler R 2 sort of dog that interest me the most, I have a wide knowledge about rotts & red fox. I'm a pet sitter worked for RSPCA Bhm other rehoming centres. I had the full time delightful task of bringing a rottweiler back to health at RSPCA so rewarding Shame for fox he's only following his instincts I understand U don't want to loose Ur chickens.

  • @bestrickie2 Red fox isn't a dog, he's a canine ;)

  • Oi Cheeky chops, booger off! amazing this is a classic video!

  • Very nice video about the reality of life and nature! Thank you very much!

  • cheeky fecker, a shot into the air would have scared him off. fine specimen though.

  • Very cheeky fox, nice chap & a happy ending!

  • brilliant video and great to see such an easy going farmer for a change. normally you see them always moaning

  • @erniehudson1 Thank you. It's nice to read that now & again. It makes up for the Neanderthals :)

  • Shoot the damn thing already, my dog hates foxs and does catch them, they last about 3 seconds and job done.

  • This fox has been raised in captivity and released.

  • i live in a town, walked down the main road one night at about 3am and saw 6!! 1 even outside my front door ..

  • shoot tha fukin thing my dog would love tha fox

  • shoot the bastard

  • How is he so brave? MAYBE CUZ HE GOTZ TEM BALLZ!!

  • He looks handsome and healthy, wonder why he's so desperate for the hens.

As a side note, I love your accent. I don't mean to offend, but I've fallen in love growing up with that particular vernacular.

  • @shdowhunt60 I'm not offended at all :)

  • @howshawthebrave get a livestockguardian dog

  • Let the dog chase him a bit, doubt he would come back after that.

  • i think you could do a deal,, with that fox

  • @TheBasshook lol!

  • i shoot rabbits on a farm and there is a major problem with foxes there comeing after the chickens and ducks. the farmer has even caught a fox fighting with his dogs outside the house and had hold of the fox by the tail. and still the little bugger came back later on the same day. over the last year he has trapped and shoot 31 foxes to date and while im out lamping rabbits with my rifle i meet a fox on average every 2 weeks while out and have got as close to as little as 10 feet away from them

  • @andrewyoung83 Since the Hunt was banned, foxes have lost their respect for man & dog. It may not sound very palleteable but it is a fact.

  • i have a gun u could barow but i want the fur lol and my gun back

  • that is one big dog fox

  • @iceman79ful He's fairly small for round here. There are some big lads down the valley from me.

  • looks lyk you need the help of my bullgreyhounds

  • Beautiful animal, nevertheless a good squirt of lead needed here

  • @Smokinbarrells1 PMSL! You worded that better than many ;]

  • You got to admit he is a handsome devil.

  • Brilliant video & very Interesting, i have a chicken & fox problem & wanted to see how brazen they are. Blimey! they really are!. My coops are fox proof but when im at home, they free range. Unfortunately found 2 had been taken within 10 mins of popping inside. now have an infrared water spray scarecrow by coops to stop them stalking. Are your chickens alright? i assume that fox wasnt going to give up. I would be interested to know, at what point does one decide the fox is too much of a pest.

  • @AngieC505 You have two choices really. You either beef up your security or you shoot the fox. I just sorted the security with this one & thus far I am OK. Trouble is if you shoot the fox you leave a gap for another one to fill & sometimes you are better off with the Devil you know. This fox's father was worse than him, he tore into a shed & killed the occupant. I would shoot this fox if he became a real problem but at the moment he's not so bad.

  • brrilliant video , ya just gotta love foxes

  • that fox dont give a fuck lol

  • this was hilarious. it just stayed there. good thing if it was that urbanized id put my lurcher on it then see what happend. is it gone now? If not where abouts you live?

  • The fox will not give up because he's that hungry...Tell you a funny story...I had a friend who had a chicken coop full of silkies. She lived right close to the woods and foxes were regular visitors. She started leaving them dog food and the foxes left the chickens alone. Tried that here...We have foxes and we also have chickens, mini goats, etc. We put out feed for all of the critters, foxes, crows and so on...None of my critters gets grabbed. Not even by the hawks. The crows chase them.

  • That's definitely a townie dustbin fox what's been trapped and then dumped in the countryside by the RSPCA for it to have no fear of man or dogs like that

  • @subaruwilly I know what you mean but actually he isn't. I knew his dad well. Just a very brazened little bugger.

  • Great video mate. It's a breath of fresh air to find a Farmer with respect for the Foxes. You're right, the countryside would be a dull place without wildlife. Keep up the good work mate - you're a decent bloke.. Long may your Chickens live.

  • oi cheeky chops! bugger off! lmao.

  • Shoot it !

  • She's thinking she needs height? She's thinking get a dog or a gun or both to get rid of the ginger b*stard!

  • @lordblighty Gingist bastard ;]

  • @howshawthebrave I love that comment haha Get your self a bunch of about 30 guinea fowl they good gaurds and will route foxes out of bushes. Your Guinea Fowl will work as a team with your dog!! if brought up together. Soon as the Fowl see a rat or fox they go beserk bonkers ask any one who keeps them. Burglars,Foxes,Cats,Rats etc the fowl let you know they there. Superb Guards!! Nothing can hide from them!!

  • Yeah good one, I'm sure it understood every word you said to it. I'm also sure he will take your sentiments to heart when he returns and you aren't there.

  • How many chickens have you lost since the making of this video?.

  • @PLEDGEY None so far because I have them in a "fox resistant" run. They are still free range when I am around but if I go anywhere they are confined & yes he does still call in to make sure i locked up properly.

  • @howshawthebrave He's one lucky fox. Most people.....well ALL the people i know would have shot him. Still, if you can live with him, far play to ya!.

  • Great Video! Great job getting all the chickens back in there coops. I had a fox that kept coming around my coop but luckly i was able to keep scareing it off.

  • If you keep two geese with chickens a fox wont come near them. Simple solution.

  • what a decent bloke.

  • i think foxes are cute, but yes, a pest for farmers some people own foxes and they're so cute tho! ^v^

  • i would have laught if he said this is what we call a happy ending and the fox jumps out and grabs her haha

  • should have to dogs ? a holder (ur rottwiler ) and the scrapper possible a small terrier type perhaps a Borader terrier. :-)

  • WHER ARE YOUR LOCAL Vermin control lads ??? DON T anyone own a firearms uo your way mate ????? i would SHOOT THAT ROT & buy a good Patterdale mate ,im sorry but that vid is hilareous,

  • @proth2024 As things stand this particular fox has given several thousand people a laugh. If I had shot him he would just have given one man a very hollow victory, the video would have been very short & very boring. Nothing against Country sports at all but even the hunt would agree that a countryside without foxes would be a poorer place.

  • @howshawthebrave Yes and as much as people hate foxes they do prey on an enormous amount of rats which spread disease and also break into pigeon lofts and kill pigeons too, so foxes are very important in towns, villages and countryside alike. We seen a fox take 37 rats to the den with cubs in just one night. Good rat control. Best to keep chickens safe and no problem.

  • @proth2024

i agree mate, the rot is a waste of space,he should get a good lurcher insted.cant understand why he lets the fox carry on and doesnt shoot it...prob a fox that some idiot bottle fed and the let go in the woods?

  • WHER ARE YOUR LOCAL Vermin control lads ??? DON T anyone own a firearms uo your way mate ?????

  • get urself a lurcher fox wont b long fukn off cos he b dead if he got that close

  • Great video - decent farmer that doesn't carry the 'hate' gene. Good for you man.

  • @Catsvomit Thank you. Comments like yours make up for the sad acts ;0)

  • @howshawthebrave You need an Ovcharka mate lol I know a good breeder in Durham if you're interested .

  • @Catsvomit Who say's he is a farmer?

  • @Jedtumble The video title.

  • you need a shotty and some BB's

  • brilliant, nice footage, beautifull fox,

  • go and buy a 22 lr rifle and shoot the dam fox next time.you will be doing yaself and ya neighbors a favour for sure ........

the fox has recognised that your farm is a supermarket for food for it...

  • i don't care if killing foxes is wrong if i have live stock which i don't, i don't want some wild animal killing them for dinner

  • Hardcore Tom and Jerry Show

  • @lakc24 LOL!

  • let the rottwieiler get it see how it feels wen it finds itself in the mouth of a predator and to all you anti's fuck u :) peace

  • @shaundowning That really needed a Barney burp at the end.

  • let the dog have a play with it problem solved

  • my bullx probably dreams of this type of situation.

dred to think what my terrier would say of this video best not show her this

  • Fantastic video and commentary!! :-))

  • @33hirtz Thank you.

  • He would be as dead as a door nail if i was in your position mate... He would have a load of BBS from my Side by side ...and that would be the end of him

  • that is unbelievable, im a country lad, born and bred adn that is outb of charecter for a fox, it was in good condition and living well but id of had to shoot him, iv seen the devastation caused by a fox in the hen house

  • Beautiful video, so glad you found your little cockerel, lovely to see that I'm not the only countryperson who loves wildlife :)

  • the focus and the confidence in his own skills is remarkable.

nice to see that you respect that!

    great vid, cheers for sharing!

  • I wouldn't kill the fox I would have just chased it as far as I could with a broom and a stick. It looked like the fox will be back:(

  • i cant believe you let that vermin live ........and yes foxes are vermin people...time to get the gun out before he digs into that coupe and destroys the whole flock...and yes i know what im talking about i done the 3 foxes that killed my 20 hens without remorse.....that fox has been hand reared by the stupid antis who think saving it is the best thing to do...well tell that to the chicken keepers and dog owners when they kill the chickens and spread mange and parvo to dogs...idiots

  • @sherbert500 Even the hunt don't want to see an end to the fox's place in the countryside. Yes they are sometimes a problem but not always. This fox is not hand reared at all, I knew his father & that little bastard relieved me of 32 hens in one hit but on the other hand I have gone five years at a time with no losses & fox sign present all that time. If we cleared the country of all our little nuisances it would be a sterile & boring place.

  • @howshawthebrave I agree, we should not kill everything, and they are so much fun to look at. To bad all the wolves and bears are gone from most of Europe, I enjoyed seeing tracks of them when I was in Sweden last summer, just knowing that I shared the forest with a bear was extra interesting.

I've never seen a fox that brave dough, they usually run off on first sight. By the way, you got a really nice spot for your self there man, I loved looking at the fox just as much as the surroundings.

  • @sherbert500 firstof all, yes, foxes are considered vermin, but that still (in my opinion) doesn't make it right to keill them. I wouldn't want to kill mice if I had them in my house, nor would I want to kill foxes if I had them in my garden. Second, foxes are just another type of dog. Wolves, coyotes, hyenas and dog themselves are not considered vermin, even when they're wild, so why are foxes?

  • Comment removed

  • @nikey345 hug that tree again its getting cold.....dont want it to catch the flu now do we .........can i have another bowl of lentil soup please this roast fox has filled me right up :)

  • @sherbert500 You're ridiculous in your ignorance.

  • @sherbert500 You're ridiculous in your ignorance. Foxes are only classified as vermin by ignorant people like you who delight in slaughtering them for no real reason except misinformation and spitefulness Come into the 21st century man and educate yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • @sherbert500 Can i set the record straight here, I nikey345 DID NOT LEAVE ANY comments on this page nor would i even entertain such pages, Its was my silly stupid teenage sister in law [winday_ginjay191] who is into all this animal rights shite. she had used my youtube account instead of her own while i was away on holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • have i ever sold yu motorbike insurance?

  • @moonmnky177 Is your name Bennet?

  • you need a shotgun or a lurcher!!!!

  • Not really. A new fox soon fills the void. I just let my hens out when i am there & put em away when I go. Leaving this one alive has so far given 1500 people a bit of pleasure, not least myself. I used to be a shooter & I don't have a problem with people who are but I just grew out of it myself.

  • Love the way the little bugger marked the trees before heading back to the woods. The fox here in Kentucky are not so brave. You need to get Duke a Jack Russell terrier as companion.

  • @jkneathery I would have got Duke a JR for a buddy long ago but the little demons are a corrupting influence;0)

  • Cant believe that fox got so close to you with that big dog so close! Haha nice ending!

  • that was one monstrous rooster

  • @hdofu He was a survivor. When to going got tough he buggered off until the dust settled ;0)

  • H - the tiny little foxes around our place in San Jose Ca are nothing compared to your hungry nemesis. Enjoyed the woodworking videos very much. Thankyou.

Wish we had Ash and Birch forests around here.

  • The Best of this was when Young Cockerel (the Soldier) arrived home ! Love them all ! xxx

  • Fantastic Mr Fox

  • Did you lose any chickens or were they all spared?

  • @max1018 Everyone survived ;0)

  • @howshawthebrave Woop! Love the end when he returns in the fading light!

  • We had a fox literally slamming itself at our fence trying to get our chickens- our german sheperd and husky mutt both attacked it and it chased them off! We hunted it down sent it in for tests and it had rabies, it felt wonderful getting all those shots. Maybe this little man has it. Or like what others said a young dumb one thats hungry, or even someones pet they dumped trying to eat.

  • @ShannyPants2 Luckily rabies hasn't reached Britain yet. He was just a youngster.

  • that rotty was more than willing to take care of that fox if youd simply open the fence lol

  • That is a determined brer fox !!!!! Great film and fantastic to see the Cockerel run back to safety!!!!!!! Tania x

  • What a great little film! Thanks for sharing :)

  • Wow! That's quite a video, indeed. I've never seen a fox so brave

  • Spot on and entertaining!! I'm trying to guess which music you'll use for the final edit!!!

  • @bigmumf I thought for the closing scene that Barbers Adagio from the scene in Platoon would fit the mood ;0)

  • well that was totally enjoyable to watch ! great footage! excellent suspense! dam good narrating! and a happy ending......but the award goes to MR FOX who took the piss. 3 times actually.....? made a mug of the rottweiler! and turn mr h. into and old softy.....now buggar off! no your not having my chickens! pmsl.fooking class.:@)

  • 'Oi, cheeky chops - booger off!' Tee hee hee hee hee!!!!

  • Might be worth sending a copy of this to the BBC Autum Watch.A small fee would pay for more chickens :-)
