@66Fallout66Man66 now this guy has the right idea about monitors. As long a your gentle it's gentle. That's worked for me for 5years and it's still working.
@atreyuguy01 water monitors don't lose there tails and if you've seen one swim you'll know why. It's balance on land and basically a rudder/propeller in water.
Your a fucking idiot, you don't grab and restrain it, you let him get comfortable around you then let him crawl out of the tank onto you. I have a 7 ft one and he hasn't bitten, clawed or tail whipped me since he was a baby when I first got him. Don't restrain it then you wont need the gloves. You have to go at his pace.
i noticed that monitor that came from africa (savannah monitor, Black Throat monitor) usually has plump, and bulky body and kinda slow while the ones that came from asia (asian water monitor, green tree monitor) usually has long neck and slender body and can dash very fast.
a fully grown asian water monitor will need a room sized enclosure they tend to grow between the 5/7 ft mark but have the ptential to grow bigger they are heavily built and they have powerfull legs and claws like a bird of prey they require alot of expierence and def not for someone that has no expierence in looking after monitors but never the less nothing is stopping anyone from researching this animal so dont hold back if u want one just be prepared
i want to get one and the video are pritty crap so could any one help me i want to know are they agresive if so do they calm down when you hold them and what size cage do u need
as far as i know man 6ft. long 3 ft. wide and 2 ft. high sweater box would be enough...better be prepared than sorry since these animals grow fast got an asian water monitor for $25
im no expert but they do calm down and some even turn out to be dog tame if handled and socialized properly.. im starting to tame my lizard patience and perseverance is a must
My water monitor has gotten really mean all the sudden. Hes been really friendly but in the last week he has been trying to bite me. Is there something that would cause this. How do I get him to stop biting? Any ideas?
hopw much are you feeding it? and are you washing your hads b4 and after handiling and being in its tank is there anything loud around it that could scare it
Yeah this monitor was fucking crazy.. He bit me for the last time, haha... I took him in the backyard and cut his fucking head off... You should of seen his body keep twitching, it was hilarious. Stupid ass lizzard.. There goes 100 Bucks.. Oh well... Thanks for the advice, I shouldnt have a monitor!!!

Are using UV light? There is both A and B UV light. One type has been known to cause aggressiveness. Do some research.
