BUt the Scottish I met were very critical of me personally all because I came from America. Clinton actually did a great job, both in terms of domestic policies as well as making the U.S. look good internationally. Nixon was a little mixed feelings about, but he sure knew how to handle foreign policies. The poeple who have stereotyped Americans in a bad way is the ultraconservative movement which has grown exponentially since the 60's/70's and is often summed up as "guns and bibles", "ignorance over science and reason" etc. But W. Bush sure did help further such views.
