It's a little different. Fraxel is done with topical numbing cream, and Thermage is not. It really depends on how much energy your technician uses and what problem areas you are wanting to address. Typically, Thermage, when done correctly, WILL have more discomfort than a Fraxel. That being said, Thermage CPT is a HUGE advancement in discomfort control during the treatment.
