  • What brand yak is that?

  • i did same thing once only i stripped naked before taking the plunge lol

  • This would be funny if those things didn't cost thousands of dollars.

  • Dude, never, NEVER fly over water! You'll ruin ur electronics!

  • would have been cool if the pilot dragged the planes tail wheel in the water the took off again

  • i agree!!!! no risk NO FUN!!!!!

  • Gold!!

Top marks for swimming out to it. ;-)

I always wanted to try and touch the wheels of a flying model plane on the waters surface. Tried it once, not pretty. LOL

  • im the pilot and i know i messed up. power too late not really knowing where the water was and comming into the manuver wrong to begain with. the clip doesn't show the two flights before it. but nobody wants to see the same hovering that everybody does. and yea i was trying to show off my new skills which showed me i needed more pratice. i also had the nervous hand that i know you all have had when trying to learn new stuff. to me that was a great day of flying with my friends.

  • the plane was fine broke the prop and elev. once dried and repaired i must have put 150 flights on that air frame. and no i can't afford it i had to work o.t. and a second job to buy that plane and i loved every minute of flying it, even when i had to swim after it.

  • no it wasn't coming in too hot. no it wasn't because it was nose heavy. the pilot wasn't consentrating on his surroundings. he came to low and was too late to add power. well done mate.

  • Your lucky that thing floats.

  • Cool, i like this..! ha ha

Great Video and great fun to..

    Keep up the good work./Eliskata

  • why...... you dont deserve such a nice plane ven if you can afford it. >:(

  • did the elevator break off?

  • at least there was probly not much damage. I would take that water landing over a crash on land any day.

  • i'd really like to have a go, just not with mine :o)

  • Nice plane, to the point it was water logged

  • save the planeeeeeee

  • risk when u have the skills man....

  • Zero Skills. Nice job moron.

  • Shark!!!

  • what a bloody genius!!

  • Always take a risk flying over water, no offense.

  • Nice day for a swim!

  • textbook belly landing

  • very smart move!

  • This is why I like flying floatplanes. Waterproof the receiver and ESC, electric brushless and servos survive water normally ok (hairdryer), make sure its mainly foam, and absurd crashes in water are surviveable with little or normally no damage. On land the same crash - devastation ....

  • lovely yes a very lovely swimmer lol

  • LOL! Awesome... take the risks, reap the rewards.

  • well you like the way you fly and people like them and me like the way we fly doing the 3d manouvers. why do you have such a problem with that?

  • LOL, it's people like you and your closed minded views of the world who ruin hobbies. If it werent for diversity the world would be a boring place of cuban eights and stall turns. If 3D flying were so un-interesting why have full scale pilots been beginning to perform our "overdone" tricks at airshows accross the world? Harriers, tourque rolls, rolling harriers, walls etc... many of those moves were first done by RC pilots because we have the power to weight ration that full scale do not.

  • STFU loser

  • That's a great comment. Your wonderful attitude and fantastic comments are fitting to a person of your stature. I bet you are the kind of guy that sits under the shelter at your field and yells at people for making passes too low and flying out of the pattern, or a know it all that people dread to see come out. "Oh shit, here comes that guy again." You should keep your negative comments, and dull flying to yourself. It's people like you that repel so many from this hobby.

  • Ok Sgt. FunKill go fly your control line P.O.S.

  • @glass29tractor You are nothing but a FOG. Our club is in serious demise because of closed minded old farts like you. The younger generation is what is going to sustain this hobby and when closed minded Friggin Old Guys (FOGS) like you run them out, who is going to keep the hobby going? You are just jelous that you cannot do 3D!!!!!

On a lighter note though, if you could do 3d, you would be one of the ones out there showing your stuff and having loads of fun - be more open minded dude!

  • @PC9JEFF I here ya! We just made huge changes at last meeting, several people didn't fly last year because of the rules that were created on a daily basis without even voting on them just because they were outside of the flying skills of what you call FOGS.

These people need a club of their own where they can just do there pattern flying and not worry about something new ever happening or new people joining.

We are trying to get back to fun and get new people into the hobby and evolve.

  • Why over water???????

  • Forgot the floats...

  • Everything just has to dry so the servos radio gear etc.. the engine and plane well if it was full of water or soaked that might have to be replaced but the engine can be cleaned should at the most only be a new airframe

  • i bet his a harvard graduate !

  • the planes probably fine. maybe a couple cracked pieces here and there. they dont mind the water as much as just the force from the impact.

  • I'm sure he can clean the engine out and basically looks repairable. I sure hope it is!!!

  • É isso ai meu amigo... "Só não lenha, quem não voa".... Continue tentando... Valeu.... (Yeah my friend ... "Just not wood, who can not fly ".... Keep trying ... Thanks ....)

  • mdr le nazzzzz

  • Hey was this guy or you flying at a field called BCMA( Bergen County Model Airdrome) in Teaneck New Jersey?

  • you need floats to land on water. was the plane a loss???

  • OW! That plane must have gone for at least 1,000$. What set-up did you have on it? It didnt seemt o be laterally balanced. Why did it tip-stall?

  • More than that carpet ;) Think $1500-$2000.

  • it floats!!! .... sweet plane good flyin other then the landin in the water part...

  • pilot erra

  • Boy is his face going to be red when they find the black box on that one!!

  • Lateral balance off causing the wing rock and underestimating his altitude.

  • the engine didn't have the pull he needed at that moment... This is why aerobatic pilots say "you can never have enough power"

  • Actually, for 3D pilots, overpowered is the norm, although we never use that word. That plane had the power he needed to pull out. The thing that doomed him was not using proper throttle management comming out of the dive ;)

  • Stu-pid and unlucky

  • I like to think of it as funny in retrospect. Otherwise I wouldn't have posted it.

  • @Alexw851 how is it stupid

  • sadly its not a boat lol

  • No, thats a pilot that underestimated his fall rate

  • sounds like the engine didn't reacted as the pilot had wished

  • Let's go swimming!

  • WTF??? What in God's name would make someone fly a Yak over water??? Last time I looked it didn't have any floats

  • What can I say? Some people like to live on the edge.

  • and some people are retards

  • and this is what happens when they fall off the edge :)

  • @gmccord1970 pretty sure this is at the joe nall.....and everyone does it there. some people just dont get it

  • Swimmin after it...hahahahaha

  • Unlucky, don't think I would have tried that even if I was stoned!

  • was this filmed at a feild called BCMA?

  • lol

    glug glug glug...

  • More throttle...earlier!

Stick a life jacket on it next time.

  • its look too unstable in harrier....

  • There are some weird wind patterns over water, bur it seems to me that the low speed needed adjustment

  • rofl

  • No Risk, no Fun !

  • Amen , my friend, amen!

  • true

  • i think you should fly a profile it might be more your speed.....

  • yea it is the new drexel lake

we fly there on and off

  • Nice flying, I've got a set of 35% floats for sale if your interested. Is that the new lake south of Drexel?

  • the plane is fine, i did have to let it dry out and fix the elevator counter balance. it flew the next weekend.

  • man i hope everything is fine. i almost coudnt watch. i have the same plane. i glad to see it floats verywell.
