@Tinamusicreggaeluv Yes this Is the Youyube page for Oyotunji. Oyotunji means "Oyo" rises again. Oyo is a major Yoruba city in west Africa. So Oyotunji for us is like.....mmmmm New York for the dutch or New Haven or New Hampshire ect.
Oyotunji. Nice things you are doing,i am an African and i am as proud of you as my grand parents will be knowing that you keep the faith in the culture.
I WISH TO KNOW WHETHER I CAN CONTACT YOU BY MAIL.I AM INTERESTED TO SEE BLACKS ACROSS THE ATLANTIC COMING BACK HOME TO INFLUENCE THE WAY THINGS ARE DONE,OTHERS ARE COMING AND I BET WE NEED YOU GUYS.
For any of you that knew Shirfrandoz (Yanla)Dozier; I regret to inform you that she passed away Monday, October 27, 2008. There will be a memorial at the Thomas Center in Gainesville, FL Saturday, November 8, 2008. For more information, contact Linda at 561-301-6459.
myfriend many Yoruba scholors and priest of all levels visit Oyotunji often to teach and learn them selvs . We were not born with the vurnacular like our family in the continent haw ever we are the first generation new world YOrubs to speeak a single word in Yoruba . So you should come see before you comment wrong. Adupe Oduduwa gbe wa o
as much as i admire what you gys are doing, there are so many yoruba words that you are not pronouncing right and i think you should carry the yorubas still living in the villages of oyo, osun, ondo states in africa along..how come you dont invite the real babalawos from oyo and osun in africa to your thing or have some of them as teachers seeing as they have a better knowledge, seems to see this is an all african american thing
My mother informs me that there were scandals occuring in Oyotunji at some time. However, I amvery intrigued by it. I think their should be mure villages in places such as TRinidad.
Thanks for your comment . Scandals happen all over the world . Yes we agree that there should be villages in other places , however there is the "Black" community all it needs is its traditional sociology and architecture and culture and there can be villages all over . Its a state of mind not a place ..
Adupe to you for your interest and support....we are coming up to the festival of Sango on the last weekend of the month and would love for you to make the pilgrimage to North America oldest suthentic african villagee....thanks again for the support! Ariku Baba Yeye wa ! Igberohinjade
