@kingstupid57 His left hand(on the snare)gets in the way of his right(HiHat)hand. He could be doing that same thing with only one hand...missing the HH on the snare strike. That's a problem with right handers.But later in the video he is hitting the HH and snare. Lefthanders playing on right hand drum set don't have that problem because their arms aren't crossed.

Hmmm... didn't that semi-hollow he plays in part of this say "Lucille" on the headstock? Really like the contrast in mood on the extended outro (beginning somewhere around the time the camera moves to the drummer following which we no longer see live footage. Oh, and I think Mr. Mayer can keep pace with just about anyone, including the amazing Joe Bonamassa who I'd say is equally stunning in terms of his musical ideas, chops, composition, and vocals. Whew!
