Trust me, if it would be about totally overused Human ninja characters, the game would just disappear in few months, and nobody would ever talk about it after that.
No it's not about that .. I mean being a fan of the first game,i can certainly tell you that it was a very good game, that anyone should try,But i must say that it was very, very short *(even if you include all the challenges)*.
This time they should create a more complex story with more characters and moves. Last game was about the main character trying to get revenge :P
Well, back in 2003 David made the game practically by himself. Now they have a full team, i am pretty sure it will be much better. But anyways, Lugaru is still great - there are fan-made campagins and maps, check them out on Wolfire forums! =)
well, thats a pretty simple question. For example, people that are tired of playing games with completely overused human characters. Nobody cares about your opinion if it's not logical. People play games that they like, even if the idea about characters being rabbits and wolves aren't that good ( but it is, it's nearly genius actually ) the gameplay still is more important, and trust me, the gameplay is what will make this game epic.
I just dont understand why they put they videos and blogs out about how to make the game.. whats the point? The man hours wasted doing such a thing surely stacks up and effects its release date.
The developers get to show off all the fancy stuff they've been working on for months, the players get to see how far they've come in development and get a tease on what they might get to see and use in the final game. And for other indie developers it'll serve as inspiration and maybe even teach people a few things. How can you say anything about this stuff delaying the game? Maybe they do it after work hours? Maybe these videos are coffee break activities? People don't work 24/7 you know.
2. Im guessing the Text tiltles for each section of the video are decals. So did you have to manualy create them in say photoshop like you might do with valves .vmf and .vtf files. Or, specifily in relation to the Text decal's. Can you create 'Text only' decals from within the editor?
Say, like a text box come's up and you type in simple text, and then hit enter and its saved as a decal like your titles?
1: Normal maps is the name of the game. XYZ instead of just height value.
2: I remember seeing some drag and drop function earlier. But the Valve way or storing textures in their own files is down right retarded. Most other editors uses either DDS or just TGA/JPG/PNG formats as textures.
There is a link in the description. The game is not released though. You can pre-order the game to get access to an alpha version of the game if you are willing to.
Was wondering where the "crazy stuff" was in this video. I actually got pretty worried as the video ran its length, but sure enough that "crazy stuff" was there.
this game is so awsome

i think these vids are more of a tutorial than a preview
plus id recommend stopping adding EVERY new feature to the alpha
then when the game is released (hopefully) the players will become surprised and feel something nice
u dont want them to say : oh ok same thing from the alpha /:

Decal It' s polygonal plane?
LekseyArtist 1 year ago
I've wondered a lot how is bending decals possible on uneven terrain/object.
I mean bullet holes, explosion decals, blood splatter and everything.
I can only figure out how to make plane object and set its angle to angle of polygon you raycasted.
Works only in even surface and may go over the edges.
Someone give me some tips how is that working in theory.
Does it add decal to basic texture of the model, and then reload it?
Getting position of UV map is out of my skills though.

Yes, because videos are so hard to make that they can delay the game.
