  • Everytime I hear this i'm back in my high school cafeteria wearing my platforms shoes (still got em) fantastic time machine

  • looks lipsynced lol

  • lol check out those girls in the front. they're checking his dick

  • one of the MOST underrated rock groups of the 70's,they were kissified

  • pure rock from one of the best bands

  • NAZARETH play live at The Duchess (York) - Saturday 17th March 2012

  • @YorkTheDuchess Yep, Nazareth are doing small tour of UK. I'll be at Southampton. Check out their web page for dates near you!!!!

    Awesome band!

    TD

  • Was lucky enough to see them live once - great band. Great track.

  • THE BEST SONG OF ALL TIME! First heard it in '73 in Canada and UK, and it's haunted me ever since, even comes into my dreams at night sometimes. It's only the opinion of one man, I know, but I've never heard a song to top it. Dan's fantastic voice merging with the hypnotic beat, bass and rythmn guitar complemented by the beautifully-eerie lead guitar is second to none in rock history. A piece of musical ingenuity. FIRST-CLASS GUYS!

  • This song is actually by Joni Mitchell.

  • would love to be sittin on that stage!

  • Very under rated band, their older stuff was rockin, when they came out with Malice it was like they sold out to the radio songs, I love the Malice album but its just not the same sound. This song does not get enough if any radio play on those classic stations which play the hell out of journey & boston and other than an occasional hair of the dog or love hurts ignore this band completly

  • I don't want to sound badd cauz I LOVE NAZARETH!! but.. Is he fucking lip-singning????

Could they do that in 74? take a good look... :S

  • @flatlinerider I've watched a lot of these old European 'disco' vids and the bands have lip sync'd in all of them, so yes I think you are right here. Lip synching was very common in the '70s on shows like this and TOTP, gladly thats one thing we've now left behind. Amazing song this tho. I always wished it could go on longer instead of ending so abruptly!

  • @flatlinerider

Yes, they were lip syncing. All the bands on "Disco" were lip syncing, as the format of the programme didn't allow any sophisticated live performances.

I think some of the German performers sang live, whilst they had the music coming from a tape.

  • THIS BAND WERE AND ARE AWESOME. DAN HAS ONE OF THE BEST ROCK VOICES IN HISTORY....SAW THEM 3 TIME......AMAZING

  • hellfire =) holy clip! wie steif die da rumhocken..LACH...was tele erinnerungen.. ... ich könnte mich nicht ruhig halten bei dem sound ! hairs up-load!

  • thanks nazfan43,they didnt have the sound equipment back then the bands had to have raw talent, unlike now if they look 'pretty' the engineers can manufacture a voice and hire the best session men,how else could some of todays 'boybands' etc perform without a lot of technical assistance.

  • check out 'HEART GROWN COLD' Dans vocal is heart breaking,

  • @barblessable I totally agree!!! Hearts Grown cold... one of my favorite...... Dan's vocals are amazing!!!!

    Love Nazareth!!!!

  • Dan McCafferty is the singer, yet another bunch of great scots,I love jock n roll.

  • fab

  • '74.,,,,,,,

    hmmmmmmmmmm.....

the apparent lack of enthusiam on the part of that dead lookin audience must be blamed on quaaludes

  • AWESOME! Thanks for posting.

  • This has to be one of the best cover tunes of all time.

  • best vocal

  • he sings**

  • First time I listen to this band... the singer is awesome, he sign very good

  • Basic motif sounds like "Barracuda" from Heart

  • @izis111

Guess it does a bit. Of course, Barracuda was released around 3 years later than Nazareth's cover of this song.

  • everybody looks absolutely fucked

  • 34D2234, you mean Slash looks like this guy

  • Oh my fucking ears are bleeding. Yeah!

  • well i can thank my parents for loving this band. my mom played it all the time when she partied in her younger days. i remember falling asleep to this band, while mom and dad, and their friends partied downstairs. Love them both, parents, and.... NAZARETH!

  • 1974, man, these dudes were way ahead of their time!!! The sound, the riffs, the unmistakable hard rock / metal "GUNT gu gu GUNT gu gu GUNT gu gu GUNT"!!!! Timeless for sure.

  • guy looks like slash

  • The best cover ever [2]

  • Just saw these guys last night...fucking awesome! they still got it ;)

  • Worst crowd ever...lmao

  • The chick at 1:48 is baked, huh? Luv seein' Darrell in action, too!!!

  • @ChuckieInMT It was the 70's i bet every person in that room was baked.

  • 19 people either virgins or deaf

  • tribute to joni mitchell for writing this song, but I guess she never imagined its true potential. Certainly one of the all time best songs

  • 1:48 shes totally tripping on acid lol

  • Saw these guys live with Thin Lizzy on a twin-bill in 1978. Awesome show! There just aren't bands like this around anymore. This was when record companies allowed band artistic lattitude instead of directing them to a "commercially accepted sound". Long live the 70's!

  • I photographed Nazareth in 1975 in an outdoor concert in Canada. To see the shots go to ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • ye olde schoole classic.... full bloody awesome !

  • Five bucks says thay all got laid by hairy Dutch chicks afterwards!

  • @quig66 Manny & Dan ALWAYS GOT LAID!!!

  • Hard to believe that this is a Joni Mitchell tune, eh?

  • The chick in the purple @ 1:45 looks baked, huh? Plus she's checkin' out Dan's package towards the end...

  • @ChuckieInMT They were all baked

  • Dan McCafferty's voice ROCKS!

  • Julio Iglesias between Suzi Quatro and Nazareth?...weird

  • This should have a billion more 'likes'

    Jonie +harmony + guitars + perms = 10000000

  • Joni Mitchell turned into rock, and it worked! Amazaing stuff.

  • Myann I wish I wouldn't have gone on that Flight that night....But you knwo what they say Love Hurts.......And as I flew away from everythng......Ive seen/contacted/found her but waiting too say something too her. while We meet again "Babe"......L.Y

  • mmm... sweaty German girls... mmm

  • this big hits vocal melody and first gitar greats POLEN

  • @mik63ward No problem my friend. They are both great bands, just Nazareth was first. Nazareth will ALWAYS be my favorite band of all time though.

  • 17 people dont have speakers??

  • Nazareth new album (Big Dogz) set for release April 15!!!

  • @mik63ward Yeah except that Nazareth formed 5 years before ACDC formed and the original band The Shadettes that later formed into Nazareth was formed in 1961 so 12 years before ACDC. Plus Nazareth had put out 4 albums before ACDC even formed and 5 by the time ACDC had put out one and this song was put out the year ACDC formed if not one year before ACDC formed 72 or 73. Nazareth is my favorite band of all time. I love ACDC but Nazareth influenced ACDC if anything.

  • @xtcongo

Love this version Love his voice all depends what your tastes are i guess many followers honey go back to your folk balads and turn the sound down! It might wake your MUM!

  • @xtcongo

  • @xtcongo You clearly don't have an ear for music at all and as sick as this may sound you may as well not have ears if you can't appreciate the GODS of music (NAZARETH). You clearly have a shit taste for music. I bet you like Justin Bieber or some shit like Taylor Swift. NOW GTFO!!!

  • Why is Garry Glitter in the credits?

  • @TheJuke

Unfortunately, we used to dance alot to Garys music, glitters glam error, this clip was taken from a VHS tape featuring hits of the time! Gary eeeeoooowwww!

  • Fookin' ace!!

  • It's pretty amazing that at one time was Dan McCafferty was a pretty good looking guy. Oh well, cigarettes, aging, and constant touring takes its toll. Peace.

  • Saw them at Lancaster university uk 1974..great!!..

  • Myan its amazing how each individual can realte too any type of music classic's too now. This song is amazing and reminds me of going on a flight i shouldnt have gone onn:-(...

  • To bad they didn't have pleated pants back then. lol.

    cuz.......

  • Just what the hell is wrong with this audience?! They look as though they're sitting in Saturday morning detention!

  • @1977kb0wqh1996 They took too many Sanatogens. That's why you kids should say NO to drugs:)

  • love this song

  • i met the guitarist of nazereth at perth train station in the late 90s and the guy was so down to earth. I tried to sing this classic to him= bad bad boy,my white bicycle etc just to let him know that i knew who they were that although i was only 5 years old when naz got together in 1968 my older bro was a hugh fan and i can remember him belting this one out back in the mid 70s This band make you proud to be scottish.

  • U guys know how they got there name Nazareth from....

  • Kewl to see a young Pete & Lee Agnew, too, huh?

  • A beautiful, spirited song of longing, loss and regret, that manages to be sexy, poignant and sensual all at the same time. We've ALL felt it.

  • See the little girl @ .49 ?

  • I was lucky enuf to meet Manny at North Star Mall in 1979. Great guy and guitarist. Peace out Man.

  • ha ha i was born in 1941,got 60s,70s,80s.saw these live, also sabbeth, purple, snake, black oak, osmans(bloody osmans must of been on something, oh yea i remember.).

  • @Imthedude01 going to see them live in columbus on august 29, i cant fucking wait!!!!!

  • Make so mistake about it - THESE GUYS WERE GREAT!! I was there!!!

  • All time favourite cover of this song. Nazareth continues to be on my top 10 list of classic rock bands. When I want to play along with classics (old school guitar hero - with a real guitar) I load up bands like Foghat, Lizzy and Nazareth.

I would love to see em live again.

  • Oh my god. . .how could Joni Mitchell let this shit band defile this beautiful song?

  • @keelywearsprada go wear your prada you peice of shit yuppie

  • @fatgreenwoody haha it's a BAND, I don't really wear Prada, idiot.

  • @keelywearsprada i'm not lame enough to know who keely wears prada is or to ever listen to them. nazareth is real rock and i do enjoy some joni mitchell, but it sounds like you need to go back to your faggy ass fall out boy and bullet for my valentine and leave rock and roll to those who don't have sell some image or brand name to teeny boppers. it's people like you who are fuckin rock and roll up and you should really stop, because in the long run your the idiot.

  • "Old School" Rocks!! The crap that is out now, no comparison, we have to school the young ones on music...lolo Props to the 70's, I miss them!

    Peace!

  • As a teenager when this song came out, I loved it instantly. Nazareth are great.

I always sing this song to myself to calm my nerves when flying!

  • saw them in saskatoon 09 still sounded awesome

  • All these rock bands today bragging they're so great, piss off. This is how you make rock 'n roll.

  • @HRVDNT amen brother !!

  • @HRVDNT YEAH!!!!

  • @HRVDNT Oh, yes! I agree! Just love this old music.

  • This Flight tonight was No. 1 Single Hit in 1973 in Germany then

  • They're not as big as KISS,,.... because they didnt sell their souls like Gene Simmons did (because Gene invented air & OJ you know) ... and they are not as big as Ozzy, because they didnt snort enough coke,,.. Ted?(phmphm). BUT,,,...... I always wondered if ACDC was giving Dan M a look when they were looking for a singer soon after Bon passed on...

  • I do feel bad for this generation, we had Lionel Ritchie and you have Nicole Ritchie...

  • @Dasein512 julio iglesias was reserve goalkeeper for Real Madrid, i think thats pretty cool.

  • Julio Iglesias on the charts between Susy Quatro and Nazareth, that's as close to be cool that Julio Iglesias ever was.

  • Boy he's one ugly mother fucker.... Who's getting a lot more pussy than I'll ever get :-(

  • @heymikey59 Who GOT a lot more pussy than you'll ever get. He's now 63, looks far uglier, and his voice is shot (though Nazareth still tours sometimes even so). I highly doubt women are now beating down his door. But so what? Besides all the great music he gave us, I'm sure he fondly remembers all the pussy he once got, too. Peace.

  • Einfach nur ein geiles lied

  • thanks for uploading!

  • Man.......it's so sad to see great bands like this having to lip-sync and shadow-play to their own bloody music because the technology wasn't their for them on a particular television appearance. I have heard this song 100's of times and this performance was pitch-perfect with the original. Oh well.......still a great song from a kick-ass band.

  • Now this is what I call Music.

  • Here I am again listening to this must watch video of Nazareth! I must see this 100X a day for to be satisfied! Yahooo!

  • Dan McCafferty has a one of a kind voice, hell, Nazareth has a one of a kind sound.

  • Wow, it doesn't get much better than that. Songs like this are very much unappreciated when compared to Hair Of The Dog & Love Hurts, which are also great songs.

  • Gotta love Nazareth..Good honest rock 'n' roll ! Dan knew how to belt out a number ! Thanks for posting, eschie.

  • A classic!!! God Bless Nazareth!!!

  • tHis is the stuff that gives ya those goosebumps and u kno is music

  • Nazareth - those were the good old days !!
