I personally don't believe that the Earth is hollow, but if they want to go sail around looking for a hole in the Earth then go right ahead. The hollow Earth theory just doesn't fit in with any science we have. It borders on the line of thinking we're the only life in the universe, because only Earth is hollow. of course it is, the magnetic north is monitored every day for its movement, to know difference between geographical and magnetic north, even if poles swap it will only effect compasses not the earth as a body (no earth quakes etc)

the figure I gave is to show u would need a massive physical force to effect change in earths movement as a flywheel, I got this from my common sense, the pole flip is only magnetic. if u went to school u would work this out.

the coreolis effect is the effect of rotation on water going down the drain for example, the pole switch is just like having a magnet that switches north for south or vice versa, it will do nothing other than make compasses read 180 degrees out!

gravity btw is a result of the earths mass not magnetism, if the earths core was

@tpvalley Didnt say it would reverse its direction.Eddy currents in the core would diminish, and would need to reverse to reflect the new magnetism of the earth. when reversing, they would need to get weaker to get stronger. when getting weaker (and just on par with the expected huge solar flares around 2012) the earth won't be protected nearly as much by the van allen radiation belt. such an influx of particles/energy/heat would definitely change the weather, changing currents around the world.

When the poles are switching, won't that leave the earth unprotected because the van allen radiation belt will switch with the poles? the the poles don't offer protection, and they'll be facing down projected sun bursts around 2012.
