@TheVengefulCo Yeah, they are pretty common to be found on sports cars. The 370's have the same looking strut brace. But remember, it doesn't have to be pretty to be funcational. :)
All you morons are dumb who think this doesn't help. This is one of the best easiest mods to install for driving. And yes you can notice the difference.
@1994burrito A strut brace reinforces the front strut mounts by tying them together. This stiffens the front end and it makes the cars handling sharper. Without a front strut brace the strut towers move and flex independently from each other. The car handles much better with the strut brace and feels much more connected.
I think he was asking about your windows being open or closed because of the noise level of the exhaust in the video. Glad the strut bar helped, I just ordered one for my vehicle to add to my hotchkis tvs springs and swaybars!
@robertkurt2 Some cars do come stock with strut braces. For example, my E92 M3 comes standard with one. I think manufacturers opt not to install them on some vehicles because a majority of the people who drive said vehicles probably don't drive them hard enough to warrant the need for one. I know most people with 528i's don't drive their car like I do or even mod them.
However, I do think that the added stiffness from the strut brace does add a safety element and should probably be standard.
@tkcwu Thank you man! The E92 is a good looking car and I'll be joining you soon with an E92 M3 of my own (hoping I take delivery in a few days). Best of luck with the install of your strut brace. They really do make a huge difference and make the front end of your car feel much stiffer. I was very impressed that such a small mod made such a noticeable difference.
dam thanks man, i was still iffy on gettin a racing dynamics strut brace for my car but after seein this vid makes me feel comfortable buying it. thanks again
@spinlessbastard1 Nice, best of luck with it. I'm sure you'll notice a big difference with a FWD car. You should definitely feel that that front end is much tighter and it feels more connected.
@TheGsrb17 Yeah, it does make a big difference believe it or not. Especially when it's combined with other upgraded suspension components. Overall, the front end of this car is now extremely stiff and the handling/control on aggressive turns has been very noticeable.
I have an 2000 E46 and was thinking about doing the same to my car. After watching your video I think now I have been convinced to do the same as I have never really been all that happy with the handling of my car. I am also thinking about fitting nolathane bushes just to firm things up a bit but not making it too savage. Thanks man, great help.
@e90bmwfreak Do you still have the factory suspension by any chance? The strut brace will help stiffen the front end and reduce chassis flex but it will work at it's best with upgraded suspension components in other areas as well (sport shock/spring package, coilovers, swaybars, etc.)
@foleygac Well 5 months later I thought to let you know I put a strut brace on my E46 about a month ago and yeah what a differance it has made. My wife tells me she doesn't have to hang on as much when I get a bit carried away on the bends here in New Zealand ha ha. Think too some better tires will make a big change all over but will hold off until the ones I have now wear down a bit more. Again thanks for the vid. B.
@e90bmwfreak Good stuff! Glad to hear you went ahead with the upgrade and it's made a difference. Definitely a better set of tires will likely improve handling to a certain extent but there are several other factors involved as well.
@anders0nkai It's alright man, I was just confused as hell. I thought maybe I said something wrong in the video or something and someone was preparing me for an education. :D
Sorry for the late response...the headunit is an Alpine IVA D106. It's been fantastic ever since purchase and install back in April of 2008. It has add on capabilities including navigation, bluetooth, rear view camera, HD radio etc. Sound quality is also top notch as well.
Bilstein sport struts, H&R lowering springs, UCA & LCA Powerflex bushings, HD strut bearings, Racing Dynamics strut brace (obviously), HD sway bar links, Powerflex sway bar bushings
Rear:
Bilstein Sport Shocks, H&R lowering springs
HD shock mounts, HD sway bar links, Powerflex sway bar bushings, Upgraded OE subframe bushings
No problem. It's worked really good so far and my next (and last) suspension mod is going to be the Eibach sway bars. Let me know how it works out for you.
Will it make your car louder as well?

Agree with the vid. Noticed difference straight away, steering feels alot stiffer. Great cheap mod for your car!

Good video. I've always wondered why auto makers don't just automatically install things like this at the factory.
Is it because they are in cohoots with the aftermarket companies and what to artificially create business for them?
This has always bothered me.
