the lighting, you can set the timings. So you can set the garden's light to turn off at whatever you want.

its too puny. you're better making ur own system in a cuboard under a light and grow three or four times the amount of this. Always think large amounts otherwise you are wasting you're time for puny amounts. Do yuo really want people to say "is that all you got"

Hey guy i just built an aerogarden out of a $5 plastic tub. The only difficult parts is fitting a light onto the plastic tubs. ANybody any good ideas how do attach a light to a lastic tub?  The seed kits are so overpriced for this aerogarden.

how does this system water the grow spomges? Does it use sprinklers or drippers. THe aerogarden website does not give a detailed view of the internals. DOes it use misters or tubing. The only thing that i like about it is the light being attached to the grow chabmer which is good. THe biggest problem i see with this is the wattage of the bulbs. if it used 100 wat compact fluorescents. the wattage of the light on this unit is puney and will not be good for fruiting

The Aerogarden uses newer efficient 26 watt bulbs to save you money on electricity. Also, there's less heat given off which makes it much safer.

. This is marketing scam product that forces customers to use the special shaped seed pods that are over priced. A home designed aero system will use a cheap packet of seed. You can beat self sufficiency. Just build ur own an dont waste money on this over priced prouct. SOme people slag of shopping channel products but i have found some of them to be good, Like the titanium II knives and jack lalane power juicer. This is not a true aeroponic system. True aeroponics uses a water atomizer.

Marketing scam? Its a simple to use system. Cant get any easier. Its also complete. Try building an aeroponic system home built and itll be more expensive then Aerogarden. This is plug and play growing. A great product in my opinion.

i went yesterday to c how much it will cost to make an aeropanic system and it cost about 400$ and its UGLYYYY and just for 5 pots and it takes lot of place... and u need clay and blablabla...

Aerogarden makes a shelf that hold 3 Aerogardens all in a row. I think it's called the Wall Farm or something like that. Very cool.

Purely designed to make people buy the special over priced seed kit. U can make one of these for less than half the price of this. I must admit ts a nice design with the intergrated light but thats it. they should of made it work with any seed with the need for their own trademark tieing you into their system. Nasa would probably laugh at the aerogarden

I'm seeing some negativity about this.Go to the grocery store and buy organic but its quite expensive, ex. Red Leaf or Romaine lettuce is about $4. a head and organic herbs are anywhere from $3 - 7. each. I've had this about 8 months (2 units) at a cost of $300,planted my own seeds and have broke even so far. As for bldg. one, good luck. Time + materials, cost is the same, but mine is great and I haven't wasted yet, plus I've grown strawberries in the winter in NY state! I like it!

I am in the proccess of patenting a gardening product. I have spent a lot of time (years) making a product of value. When I see companies like this ripping people off I take it personally. I am only trying to warn people. Obviously you are defending it because you do not want to feel emasculated by me saying "anyone with half a brain can build one better", after you already bought one. BTW. Nitrogen in gas form is inert, in solid form a carcinogen, smartass!

Take my word for it, I have been in the industry for 14 years, do not spend more than 30 dollars on this thing. Just use GOOD soil, and a flourecent light 20 bucks and you've got a garden four times the size! and you can do it ORGANICALLY. This thing will also grow so much mold, and rot it is not worth the trouble.

i agree this system is a complete waste of time and money. if you want fresh nice herbs all year round with a low carbon footprint buy a grown organic plant and put it by a window. simple, green and easy and more important cheap. £130 in uk (approx $260) thats more than i spend on fresh herbs in years !!!!!

I have looked at the website, and it looks like you have to use factory refuels...Packs of seeds, etc...? If yes, the only interest is the computer aided watering, maybe good for city slickers living in apts.

You can make you're own using a Rubbermade tub,aqaurium pump and some plant baskets for about 20.00...150.00 for that thing is CRAZY!
