Un groupe de Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Rock Jazz, Jazz Rock, Prog Jazz Fusion, etc, etc .... appelez le comme vous voulez, moi j'ai toujours aimé l'enfant de Klaus Doldinger.
The main motive on bass is "just" a 4/4 Ostinato (Gadd9) but it is intricate to keep the time (on bassguitar) here. The present analog synth sounds were a "revolution" back in January 1976 ! My God, I just can´t believe that almost 36 years have passed away since !
shit... that's the best new song i've heard in the past 2weeks!... i just discovered Passport Today ! and i've heard each one of their album tracks/samples 0:30seconds on amazon.com from 71 to 82 ... and i should admit i was surprised that i don't know them... at least i will buy all their albums from 71 to 76 then a few others later less essential from my point of vue ...
This song is incredible... how rich ... it's jazzy-spacy and proggy...all this in one...and it's quite marvellous! thanx!
@BohemianConspiracy - I know some will have a different opinion, but really, this is the best Passport album IMO. The entire album is great here -- you won't have as much luck with others. That's my taste.
I never get sick of hearing anything from Passport! I've owned most albums since the day they hit the shelves and they have a special rythm to them that keep you coming back for more. Thanks for the post!
One of my favourite Passport tracks. Shame the CD version of Infinity Machine sounds nowhere near as good as the old vinyl version. Remaster it please Klaus!
this song right here, is one of my all time favorite tunes, i wore the grooves completely off the origional album, nearly had to fight off some folks once who wanted to borrow the album, and have had several cd copies of it, when i listen to ostinato, i think of either a deep meditation or a good acid trip, trying following this up in your playlist with the "sungoddess" by ramsey lewis
Passport melded the Jazz Fusion scene with sounds like Tangarine Dream and Kraftwerk. Doldinger was a seasoned pro before he formed this group. His career dates back to the 50s
RIP Kristian Schultze

Für mich das beste Stück von Passport!
Im Auto, volle Kanne, gerade dann gegen Ende wenns richtig spacig wird und dann der Drummer loslegt... wow, geil! Das macht echt Freude! :-)))
