Nneither Sean Hannity nor Senator Riegle went over to Iraq to investigate in 1994, so let's first discount what either party has to say as hearsay. There are certain documents that escape the hubris of partisanship, such as those retained by the Congressional Research Service, which may occasionally pick and choose sources, but might be the best we have. So, you go and get the CSR report that shows whatever it is you want to prove. Just cite the document number and I'll read my own copy.

Just as you assert GB and Hannity as being unreliable sources of information (and I agree, they aren't reporters and only repeat what they have gathered elsewhere), I similarly regard Riegle as an unreliable source. If you want to quote Riegle's source, I have access to the Congressional Research Service archives and can pull up a less partisan source of information. However, Riegle's report was 10 years old already, so it has little relevance on the US action in 2003. Different administration.

Your argument is that it was an illegal war, asserting that Iraq had no biological or other WMD. Then you say that they got WMD from the US. Well, they either had the banned items or they didn't. In 2003, it didn't matter where they got them prior to 1990, it was 13 years later and they had agreed among other things to destroy them as part of the Gulf War cease fire. But, they didn't, so action was necessary and warranted. To fail to act would tell the world that the US doesn't abide it's word.

Not sure what Guzman has to do with Iraq, but it almost makes a good story of opposites to what happened with Iraq. Rightly elected Jacobo was ousted by a Military coup while Saddam who was a militarist helped oust the original Republican government of Iraq at roughly the same time. The Americans then UNDO and restore electoral democracy, and you cry foul? What Operation PFSuccess did to subvert universal suffrage, Operation Iraqi Freedom did to create universal suffrage, particularly for women.

Not saying that the US should have sold Iraq those items, but Iraq probably got double that from the French and Russians, particularly during the Oil Embargo (which France and Russia mostly ignored). Since Bush49 started in on Iraq at near the start of his two terms, it's estimable that Clinton signed those export licenses, but that's irrelevant, because your criticism of the US is that the war was illegal (wasn't) and that "millions" were killed (weren't). You're pulling numbers from thin air.

First they are going to legislate and spend away our wealth until we're all poor and then they'll start rationing back food, shelter, and health care to us and we'll grovel at their feet. According to Harry Reid they're in the middle of a civil war... Actually, we went into Iraq as legitimately as you can possibly go into another country with tanks and troops. The US went in under UNSC Resolution 1441, adopted unanimously by the United Nations Security Council on Nov 8, 2002, offering Iraq under Saddam Hussein "a final opportunity to comply with its disarmament obligations" that had been set out in previous resolutions (Resolutions 660, 661, 678, 686, 687, 688, 707, 715, 986, and 1284). Disarmament meant WMD and other prohibited arms.

As for the quality of the bio-agents and Uranium that was found, I think it would have been such an embarrassment to the US that American troops would have covered up the find. No, I think there's every reason to believe it came from Iraqi themselves or maybe the Russians.

As for Anthrax, what was your proof that we (I assume you mean the U.S.A.) sold Anthrax to Iraq? If "we" did, then they wouldn't need to make it, but that's what we found, facilities (incubators) for making weapons grade anthrax, though it was determined that the aerosol quality of the Iraqi Anthrax wouldn't be very effective once weaponized. Still THEY were making it.

Your argument is inconsistent. If the US knew that they would find certain banned items there and then they DID find them there, then according to UN resolutions, the invasion was a justified action. The war wasn't an "illegal" war. No further debate necessary.

Additionally, you've thrown around a number of "millions of Iraqis killed", and I assume from your tenor that it is an accusation against the US and not Saddam, Udai, Sahdr, or Al Qaida. It is the more serious charge. Where's the intel?

2. UN voted on a Resolution. Said resolution gave Saddam an ultimatum, which he breached.

3. You said we sold Iraq WMD materials and found them there. That's your statement, not mine. So the WMD materials that were banned under UN Resolutions was THERE, giving rise to the invasion, according to your argument.
