  • Malc1976... You've no imagination mate. You forget these were machines that could never have hoped to live with the power on offer to the arcade version.

  • @ukmarkh yes i know that the 8bit computers couldnt match the arcades power but i still like the c64 version better than this

double dragon 2 is amazing on the amstrad but crap on the c64 why dont you upload a video on that?

  • some people here have lost the point about this game its not ment to be metal slug for fuck sake so this version is not like the arcade but a spectrum port that wasnt as good as on the c64 anyway look at the video on youtube before you make stupid fucking comments

  • I made the comparison to Metal Slug, even though Midnight came out years before, because young kids today, and people in general probably haven't ever heard of Midnight Resistance. The reason I made this vid, is because at my work place, all the younger so called gamers... ;-) had never heard of Midnight Resistance. As for the C64 version being the best, it has way too many problems to be considered the best... my vote is that the Speccy 128K version is the better and most authentic.

  • Yeah, how dare the developers decide to add some style to the graphics?!? this game is supposed to look like Contra, woops I meant the arcade version of Midnight Resistance! slip of the tongue :D

  • add some style to the graphics? they look shit

theres a few good games on the amstrad that are better than the c64 and spectrum but this aint one of theam

and it is a contra clone the amiga and megadrive versions are really good

i cant see why anyone would want to play this version its terrible

  • Oh, I take it ultra low resolution lego style graphics would be preferable? LOL

I'm sorry to have to break this to you, but the arcade and Mega Drive versions faded into obscurity for a reason, nothing about them made them stand out from the crowd, they had bland graphics and game play ripped from Contra. Midnight Resistance was allowed to shine because of the impressively programmed home computer ports, these are the reasons why people fondly remember the game, not the original.

  • what a sad and strange world we live live in when people would rather play this shite than the original

  • Is it that slow ? or is it the emulator ?

BTW, a speccy port, yet the graphX where recolored (it was so rare on speccy ports)

  • great game but loads better on the c64

  • Are you for real? It's WAY better on the CPC.

  • have you played the arcade version? this is nothink like it on the c64 its more like the arcade this is just a port of the spectrum version

  • It's funny you saying about similarities to metal slug, because thats what i kept thinking while i was playing as well (unlike the original arcade and c64 version which were basicaly Contra clones) i'd also point out that metal slug wasn't made until a good 5 odd years after the spectrum/amstrad versions were released.

  • also ocean were behind this one so expected sooooooo much more wat a disappointment!

  • :O)

u know i love your work.....

just pissed off with what data east did with arcade conversions to cpc - really disappointing.

  • Data East? What the fuck do they have to do with it?

  • lol... always complaining.

  • Absolute cracker of an opening dude WOW WOW WOW want more more more..... its AMSTRAD CPC BITCH !!! give me more more more :) but what happens next go into drab sound and gfx of midnight resistance.....????
