I have a question. I know it's impossible to install programs on a VMWare installation, but if I had a Vista partition and put Vista on VMWare on the Linux partition, would I be able to access my progs from the Vista partition within Linux through VMWare?

And so this video isn't a total waste of time, I'll put some real tips to make windows run faster.

1-Set your computer for performance

2-Don't leave a bunch of crap running in the background

3-Don't open too many websites at once

4-Get XP Lite and use it to remove the fluff you don't need on your computer. The trial version is a bit limited, but the pro version is pretty cheap.

I tried installing Ubuntu and some other Linux distro (the newest one) and both failed to install. So I'm stuck with XP for now, which is actually running pretty kickass, and 100% stable. Any viruses automatically get caught by my antivirus, and I don't even get viruses unless I'm dumb enough to open a program without scanning it first.

And it runs lightning fast because I set it for performance, and I even have a 98 theme to make it look like 98:)

Its not emaulated at all, please read up on vitualization or paravitualization. VMWare does not emulate x86 it vitualizes it. Wine on the other hand could be interpreted as emulation for someone uneducated but (W)ine (I)s (N)ot an (E)mulator it uses its own recreated clone libs of windows api´s. So no it does not have to be slower either. Actually if the guy who wrote the lib made a decent work i could be faster ( as show by many wine benchmarks)

Funny. I have never had XP crash, it runs like a rocket. so..... I do not know what the hell you are talking about. Crashes are NOT the fault of the OS, but caused by hardware, badly written software, and driver conflicts. You start loading up your system with piles of garbage, you are going to have problems, Apple, Unix, Linux included. I ran Kubuntu live from the CD I Created from an ISO

that I downloaded on my desktop it ran well but when I

vu I could not print and the web pages did not appear

correctly. I tried to fun it off the CD on my EVETEX NM 3500W notebook I get an error that says the protocal file has died unexpectecly. and it would not run normal or fast

First you need to find which Linux you want. Say, Sabayon is a good one. Or Ubuntu or Suse or Myah OS or whatever.

Then you get VMware or Qemu or some sort of virtualisation software. THEN you insert your windows cd and run it with your virtualisation software.

It won't really work though, he is just joking. It will actually be slower if you have an old computer.

The point is just that Linux > Winodws

Actually, I'm using Kubuntu and it just does it. I installed it on my desktop and notebook and it just work. I also changed my video card and on the next reboot I found that the system has auto-reconfigured for using it.
