  • i like thrice way better now

  • the t.v. never plays AWESOME TUUUUUUUNNNNEESSSSS even when they gave them a chance... fuck it thanks for the memories never the less and heres to more to come! XxxXooo \m/

  • i remember waiting eagerly for this performance throughout the entire day. thanks for putting this up.

  • Wow, having a retro trip here. Watching this video in 2011.

  • 2:26 flying drumstick

  • 2:22 "nyuk nyuk"

  • @thecolorabove ROFL

  • You guys are nuts, their new stuff Is fine but It will never live up to the incredible punk rock legends they made long ago.

  • Thrice is definitely one of my favorite bands. Even though I never really got into Beggars. One of the most versatile bands out there.

  • What are rileys cymbals here? They look weird...

  • compare with: tool, a perfect circle, incubus, alice in chains and qotsa,

    all great fucking bands

and they are great alive............you fool

  • That just blew my mind!!! Damn that was an awesome live performance!

  • Wow. Their live performances never cease to amaze.. That's pretty damn close to CD quality.

  • @grenadexjumpr lol im sorry but their new stuff is just... no comment. i used to love thrice and I cant stand their new stuff. I think thrice is one of the few bands that instead of "evolving" much in the sense of lets say dredg, devolved in the greenday sense.

  • @realityorfiction to compare new thrice to green day tells me you havent heard anything past artist.. real musicians mature and their music along with them. ive been listening to thrice since i bought a less than jake hoodie and got a 5 song sample cd with a song called identity crisis on an unreleased cd with the same name. they are now more than ever performing their best work. as much as i love thrice, new and old, the older stuff reminds me more of a band like greenday.

  • @whereid0lsst00d eh I did not say Thrice sounded like greenday, but I should assume the likes of you would have a reading problem.

  • @realityorfiction I'm sorry, but Thrice is still making quality music. Greenday is making bullshit. Just because it's not heavy enough for you doesn't mean it's bad...

  • @Alio15 He never said anything about It not being heavy enough, you just made that up.

  • @PoLaRIV The only difference in their old music and their new music is the style it's played in... It's still insightful, meaningful, and in most cases, beautiful. The only thing he can take away from it is that it's not that heavy. And I hope you weren't keeping a straight face when you posted that ;)

  • @Alio15 Actually I'm super stoned and always seem to find myself getting In random discussions, and then when I'm sober I'm like "Wtf did I just type?" lol But as for Thrice I think all their old stuff has that too! I just feel like they were playing music they wanted and now It's more generalized so more of the public will enjoy It. But, too be be fair I'll go download the latest album now and listen, If It sticks I'll go buy It.

  • @PoLaRIV Haha, their newest album is just really different, but I still love it. And yeah, all of their stuff was all of those things, and for me, the only thing that's changed is the style. I'm still hoping the rumors are true and they're going back to their math rock roots, but Thrice has already given us three solid albums in that style, I think they just have a way of reinventing themselves before becoming stagnant

  • Amazing.

  • Wow!!! One of their best performance caught on film. I wish they played BELTSVILLE CRUCIBLE live a lot, so then someone can post it on YouTube as well. Miss the old Thrice too!

  • Man, I miss the old Thrice...

  • @Savant357 I like their old stuff, but Vheissu is just so damn good.

  • @Savant357

same here, dont like their new stuff...they're still good but after vheissu they changed too much.

  • wow, their sound is SO FULL this performance. Sounds as if theres 7 or 8 people playing at once. Seen these guys 4 or 5 times live and ill tell ya, not only were they amazing but Thrice is the epitome of live sound.

  • @grenadexjumpr its also awesome how they never follow the fashion trend

  • Usually performances on these shows are very lame. I guess Thrice is an exemption.

  • As a guitarist and a someone who believes that the world can be changed (for the better) through music and art revolution, I must give Thrice the "Double Championship Fist Pump!! "

They rocked the hell out of that building!! They play music like it's there last day breathing.

  • i really don't like they're new style. i much prefer the older stuff. oh well i guess

  • I miss the old intensity from Dustin and Teppei.

  • @EmotionDetector007 yeah i miss it too, but now they have something else completely different which is not a bad thing at all.

  • I knew the bassist could harmonize and play at the same time! Haha in all the acoustic versions he just sings. This was a totally epic performance! They all sing and play well, and although they had a few small tempo issues, it was amazing!

  • Back then Teppei used a rack system with a JCM 900, a Triple Recto, and whole bunch of other expensive sh*t.

  • i love all of thirces music and how they have progressed, but right here will always be my favorite period in their music

  • So true :)

  • they're great on live..

  • true

  • hahahq this is so old, i love his drumset soo much, and how they still get into it depsite the fact that theyre playing for a talkshow audience

  • wacth at the drive in - one armed scissor (letterman)....you will w/out a doubt forget that it is a talkshow performance

  • dustins choice of guitars for a while was meh... lol those SGs are garbage... but he removed one of the humbuckers... he shoulda kept his 61 reissue SG i have one and those things are gods gift to guitarists....

  • who cares which guitars they play!? they sound aweeeeeesome!!

  • agreed but if you love music gear its always fun to talk about :) i can spend hours talking about amps and stuff like teppeis JCM 900 which is totally rockin!

  • JCM 800 man.

  • i thought dustin plays the 800 and teppei has a 900...?

  • Man I love how Teppeis intro riff sounds. JUst the right amout of crunch. So he's playing through JCM 900? How much do those un? Are they hard to find? I really like the sound.

  • @rodriguez256

Teppei recorded with a Bogner head too. I also heard somewhere that he uses a Proco Rat as a preamp boost. Pretty much any Marshall/Mesa Boogie/Bogner amp cranked up should get you there.

  • they are so much better live now

  • absurdly true.

  • too bad that theres no climax of "the best" :P

  • @josephus1811 I don't know why the quality sucks so much. But thrice was fucking amazing live, and still is. But their shit is easier to play now...

  • what seems to be the hi-hat mike falls at 2:26.

    thrice is too dope.

  • i saw them last week too in Chicago! they were unbelievable.

  • Some of the best guys to perform live. Saw them last week and put on an amazing show with rise against.

  • its so cool in how the begging dustin stomps his right leg like in the music video... so cool.

  • LOL @ Riley's hair

  • the shiznik, i would've been there up stage with a couple of bottles.

  • awesome thrice is chill!!

  • hell yeah!
