  • What people DO NOT realize is that for every dollar you pay in wage for an employee, you pay another 30 to 50 cents in government mandated insurance and taxes. So if you have an employee hired for $3.35, actual labor costs to the employer is 4.35...

  • If you can't even afford to pay minimum wage to your employee, you have no business being in business.

So long as minimum wage is applied to all businesses I think it is a common sense that it sets a good standard for employers.

Study what happened in Saipan, the minimum wage was fantastic for the local economy, it was when they were allowed to start hiring foreign, cheaper, labor that the economy crashed, oddly the economy of the place that got the jobs did not benefit or flourish.

  • Dr. Williams literally predicted the congressman's answer before he responded.

    Hilarious!

  • Wow, you can really tell when the politician part of Rangel's brain kicks in. Deliberately and willfully misunderstanding Dr. Williams' point.

  • I find it funny that the entire time Williams is speaking he's being interrupted by people, either the crook, the "dr" or the moderator... Yet when they talk he sits there patiently. He also asks questions of them, not afraid of their answers, while they make wild assumptions and purposely twist words of his that are incredibly simple to understand...

  • A genius vs a corrupt flunkie lol

  • Mr. Williams-"let her finish the question" , congressman rangle-"well doctor, your not running the show." No shit rangle, she is, let her finish the question and stop running from the actual debate. Funny thing is, I seen congressmen rangle on John stossel say he was unfamiliar with Dr. Williams work. Maybe it's because he got dat ass whooped 20 years ago. Lmao

  • @85allthewaylive

I heard that too! Willful ignorance!

I was thinking that maybe he SHOULD learn and study Williams' work. Now it's clear he didn't want to know anything about economics.

  • also, Dr. Anderson at 7:30 shows his utter lack of onderstanding of the constitution by buying into the popular fallacy that the general welfare clause is a grant on crongress of a broad power, seperate from those enumerated .. This has been thoroughly debunked by porfessors like Woods, and Gutzman, as well as by James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, Alaxander Hamilton etc in the Federalist

  • wow. Every word out of rangels mouth was either a changing of the subject, a straw man, an evasion, or a flat out untruth.

  • So who was the person who kept bringing up "black"?

  • So the congressman is against a two tier system after just saying how we had a two tier system where teenagers could be highered for less than the minimum wage. It is frustrating to hear them not understand that Dr. Williams is just saying wage competition he isnt saying any one group be payed less based on a law.

  • @znirich I don't think the problem is that Rangel doesn't understand; he understands just fine. What he does here is misstate Williams's argument and intentionally confuse the issue so that he can "win" the debate and maintain his position.

  • Continued..We all want to realize our dreams but government interferes with God's natural law. A person is able to produce fruits from his own labors. Man intervenes and says I will take part of your money and give to the government so they can deem what it should be used for. Limited government is what was intended and should be reminded we are in power.

  • Dr. Anderson exposed himself as for big government. His proposal causes more harm by forcing more regulations on business. This is exactly why the Chinese restaurant flourishes reaping something and being productive even if it is a low wage. Idle hands make no money. When you get regulation out of the way the market can dictate a fair wage for work done. If the worker thinks he is paid too low he can start his own business and compete in a deregulated system.

  • economics is apparently tough to comprehend for poor charlie rangel ... the ppl of harlem voted this guy in TWENTY times!

  • Goddamn he's full of shit. "They want to have it both ways, they say the min. wage has no effect...chuckle chuckle" BS, they deny it has the effect *you* claim it does.

And Williams can take his "moral basis" and shove it up his ass. Gov't is in the business of making BROKEN things WORK. If you have a problem with their method, then explain what it is. Unless of course your logical argument is weak.

  • walter e just destroys these fools ....

  • I love Walter Williams!!

  • Hard to believe that Congressman Range is an American war hero.

  • Why dont we just let business owners pay what they would liek to pay and if people , young old black white pink or purple want to work at that job for that wage then they can if they dont then they dont.

And why doesnt Chuck pay his taxes?

  • @billyboy630 Because if we let business owners do what they want the politician will be seen as useless. He gets elected by promising to take $1 from everyone else and pay you $250 million. And then just do that for everyone who has political connections.

  • That politician just gets more and more annoying each part.

  • The congressman was dumber even back then.

  • He's not dumb. To call someone like him dumb would be to give them the benefit of the doubt.

  • @murphycline Charlie Rangel is either an idiot or a phony!

  • @morosi15 How dare you call Rangel dumb. That's really offensive to dumb people...

  • thank you...
