Im afraid I have to agree with minimumcheeky. lets waste everyones time and pull much needed resources from the communities to deal with a bunch of children. No doubt someone that day was a victim of crime, probably due to lck of visible uniform and had to wait sometime for an officer to speak to. Well done the c,lowns you are awesome and have the respect and following of...??? Exactly.....
to be fair, in that situation there was absolutely no need for so many riot police and regular constabulary. also, since this was the day of the G8 summit I imagine that the police forces would be anticipating protest, so in this case it wouldn't be so much a matter of 'pulling much-needed resources from communities' as 'police officers doing their given job'.
and groups who practise non-violence and co-operation between police and protesters deserve plenty of respect.
I dont think its a simple as 'well the G8 was on and the Police were anticipating a protest'. It is not the job of the Police foremost to babysit protestors. The vast majority are community bobbies anfd work a normal beat until called up on. So your wrong they have been pulled from the 'communities' where else do you think they get them from?
No, no, minimumcheeky, the police are taken out of communities because the government fear dissent - and you know that the government are fearful when they have that many police officers to tackle some mischievous clowns.
congratulations on your really grown up protest, it's because of stupid behaviour like this police are taken out the communities where they are really needed.
Did you see the padding on the cop's boots at 3.40???
Is that so he doesn't get his toes hurt when he's giving a kicking??

Excellent! Wish I could have been there but Scotland is too far away. Especially liked the bit with the bubble.
