  • I saw Uncle Dirty a couple of times in the early 1970's when he worked as a support act to rock bands playing the Rainbow Theatre in London. That was really unusal and he made quite an impact on. I was unaware of his links with Lenny Bruce and George Carlin and remember him doing an extended interview on BBC Radio London on the Pete Bradshaw show which consisted mainly of him doing his stage act which was pretty radical for those days. Did well here but disappeared off UK radar - wonder why?

  • He used to play at the Cellar Door in DC.

  • I saw this guy at Seton Hall in the mid 1980s. I was actually pushed onto the stage by an idiotic, drunken friend of mine to "volunteer" for a bit by Charlie Barnet.

After that gig, I saw Richard Pryor on TV (Tonight Show?) mention how great it was to work with Uncle Dirty.

    WOW!

Thats an endorsement from the top of the heap.

UD does remind me of Carlin a bit.

    Nobody could touch Carlin.

    He was the ULTIMATE comedian/satirist.

I now realize how tough it is to be funny.
