  • @sylvg no lor. Singlish is a pure singaporean english.

  • Is that KL/malaysian english?

  • @nikhilesh1 haha no.. but i suppose singlish is a bit similar to malaysian english.

  • i think this is more like Indonesian accent..:)

  • thanks, most people say so.

  • Its very mixed....i would say its more indonesian than singlish...

  • waaaaa I love your singlish accent!!! from now, try to speak with singlish accent then. :p

  • @natashiaevelyn haha no wayyy i don't like speaking with singlish that much :P

  • Its clearly Asian accent. maybe south east asian..

  • @dessymarliani yeah sounds near!

  • Indonesian here! Speaks Singlish but not that often. I kinda have mix american/british accent. Well I think.

  • @x3iDREAM haha you think like me.. we never know!

  • @sylvg probably no accent for me. Been living in Singapore for decade and luckily I don't have the scary Singlish accent (:

  • is that ntu's hall 3/16? lol

  • im singaporean indian!!!

  • @miss96TN hi!

  • Sound's kinda Scottish haha, no offense.

  • @ThreeOweOneOneBoys haha none taken! i personally don't think it is, though, scottish is hard to replicate!

  • hmmm i don't know because i'v never spoken to an Indonesian person or someone from Singapore before but to me you definately sound like someone from India who has just worked hard on their pronounciation :) x

  • @am94larmour haha i guess it depends on what accents we're exposed to, then. as i live in singapore, i'm exposed to a variety of accents daily.

  • @HoneyMonster222 I studied here and graduated.. Now working :)

  • is singlish some kinda vietnamese/filipino dialect? cuz it sounds so

  • @shirusubemonaku nope, it's Singapore version of English.

  • @sylvg weird.....

  • @shirusubemonaku we Filipinos don't have our own version of english, but we have our own slang, pronunciation and accent is depends on the speaker, sometimes we do taglish(tagalog-english mix). :) by the way, Good Accent.

  • i cant really do the indonesian accent since i cant say 'r' :P

  • @kazoo61 oh yes that's an important part for Indonesian. kids (or rather people) who can't pronounce rolling R are frequently teased in Indonesia

  • I have many indo friends in Singapore that studied in Singapore. Yours sounds like an indonesian that stayed in singapore for about 4 years. Its naturally indonesian but influenced by singlish. :D

  • @Mrazmerize haha i agree.. have to assimilate somehow!

  • Your "neutral accent" sounds Indian... the last one, "singlish"...hmm... sounds either viet or chinese.

  • @carlingskie2 hmm maybe the south east asia accents sound similar?

  • i think this is definitely indo accent :)

  • @sugarimmed heh yes most probably i guess

  • It's half american half indian.

  • @012751W124K indian? ok now that's the first time.. can't even imitate Indian. haha :P

  • @sylvg I do a bit actually. Trust me. I can say "Welcome to seven eleven!" perfectly.

  • @012751W124K haha i'm so amused by the "indian" comment because i don't even have an idea how to imitate that accent!

  • based on my opinion, koq accent na kaya rada2 british mixed with american english yah??? hehehe....

  • @sw3ety wah pertama kalinya yang ngomong gini... gw malah ga bisa british accent at all.

  • The dialect I would call "Asian English" but the accent as such of your neutral voice I would describe as "Indo-Singlish".

  • @knoodelhed dialect? But I talked in standard English! At least I thought so.. haha :P yes IndoSinglish might be the most accurate. hahaha

  • i think it's both of them... singlish and indonesian put together...

  • @MyLylya1 i think so too! haha

  • love your Indonesian accent ^^

  • @LaurenzoFang hehe thanks!

  • Singlish banget

  • @r3ne94d3 waduh nangis deh dibilang singlish T_T

  • @sylvg haha... maap ya... tp ak jujur aja. iya uda, aku ikut nangis... aku baru setahun bljr bhs indo, tp aksenku masih bule banget :(

  • @r3ne94d3 hehehe gpp.. emang susah pick up accent.

  • @sylvg haha... maap ya... tp ak jujur aja. iya uda, aku ikut nangis... aku baru setahun bljr bhs indo, tp aksenku masih bule banget :(

  • @sylvg haha... maap ya... tp aku harus jujur :P iya uda, aku ikut nangis dehh... aku baru setahun bljr bhs indo, tp aksenku masih bule banget :'(

  • @r3ne94d3 wah baru setahun blajar indo? tp indomu bagus kok! at least the written one :D

  • @sylvg haha... maap ya... tp aku harus jujur :P iya uda, aku ikut nangis dehh... aku baru setahun bljr bhs indo, tp aksenku masih bule banget :'(

  • oh my days,. I don't know what your accent is... but I like your accent eh,. uhm the "neutral" is awesome eh XD

  • @MsAmandaTan hehe thanks. neutral FTW :D

  • that indonesian accent you tried to do is not that bad. Your Singlish is almost perfect, imo. Your "neutral" accent is just fine, a bit of everything like you said!

  • @EndoKeren The Indonesian accent - I'm just trying to compare it to Indonesians' way of pronouncing some consonants. Maybe I should have spoken in real Indonesian instead of Indonesian-style English. hehe!

My singlish is perfect?? Hahaha thank you! I think it's perfect in terms of structure/interjections. Just that I still haven't picked up their accents!

  • @hendrib Yeah after I listened to it again, I can hear some Singlish inside my neutral accent. Noooo.
