  • you REALLY need to correct the title here as you are not taking into account mods for this. we have a tank on fire mod which increases his health and speed when on fire - it's a mod to prevent people from burning the tank to avoid it

  • You type kill lor mofo

  • This was actually changed for versus, in versus mode the fire does gradual damage.

  • @Criken2 cool its a suprise to see ur comment ! :D

  • thats fucking lame, I knew L4D 1 was cheap, damn, glad I'm playing L4D2, do you know if this is the same in L4D2 or no? You could do a video about the affects against a tank fire wise for L4D2 o.O

  • @SniperCurse AFAIK it doesnt even do this in l4d1 anymore.

  • If it's on fire I should rather recommend shooting your pistol(s). You don't waste ammo, it does damage, and it slows the tank down (proven).

  • Yeah, lol@ people not sure if its fake or not.

It's real, and its quite POINTLESS to shoot at it when its on fire, you'll just waste ammo. Stay away from it for 30 seconds... or just shoot and don't burn it

  • In campaign, fire doesn't do damage but sets a death timer. On versus, fire does do damage and sets a death timer. He was doing it on campaign, notice how there were no indications that you could climb objects.

  • In versus, if a tank doesn't attack a survivor, it will lose control, then the control goes to another player.

I have never seen the 30 second rule on Xbox Live, however, on there, fire does damage.

  • sweet!!!!

  • no its time when the tank doesnt sick out some anger, like you need to be swingin at shit and everything and be getting closer and closer to survivors.

  • could be real, or could be bind k kill.

  • it may take 30 seconds to die but... on some levels theres water so jump in that and your not on fire anymore, THEN KICK SOME ASS!

  • May I suggest when you have been targetted and the Molotov user try to hunt you, the moment they throw it, jump while moving forward...works for me or its just my epicness...

  • how are u going to run and avoid the tank for 30 seconds?

  • by not being a noob

  • i feel bad when i hear his second 20 second scream, i feel so bad for him

  • In Campaign: Tank on fire is faster

In Versus:Tank on fire is slower

    kinda weird

  • in versus tankis same speed

  • Actually, it's a bit slower, hardly noticeable though.

  • thats probley cuz it makes it harder for the online player

  • In co-op the Tank takes damage from STANDING in fire but when he IS on fire there's no damage. You can still tell because if you light up a Tank without shooting it, at the end of the level it shows you did a bit of damage (usually less than 20).

  • also in campaign when the tank is set on fire it becomes alot faster....so ur less likely to take damage killing it with two auto shotguns

  • the tank now takes damage, this used to happen but the patch sorted it

  • in versus. but in campaign it's either it dies from timer or it dies from dmg.

  • It is time when it does not see the survivors.

  • it does take damage from fire it must have been patched

  • you didn't attack? and when you don't attack, you lose control of the tank. O.o

  • control what happends when you lose control?

  • I'm pretty sure this has been changed in a patch so that it drains life instead of starting a ticking bomb

  • it may die in 30 seconds, but when your fighting that bitch, it feels like 30 minuits

  • tank has anger issues

  • This video should either be taken offline or noted as legacy in the description. This got changed with a recent patch, at least for Versus, where the tank now takes health damage. Thus, it's useful to shoot it after it's lit.

  • this is true, only for versus. in co-op, the tank still takes no damage.

  • Four survivors with tier two weapons armed with molotovs will take down a tank in seconds. The tank is by no means a substitute for the entire infected team working together.

  • But of course, it shouldn't be that way. You're talking about the difference between an Infected team needing good coordination and a Survivor team who... needs to know how to shoot things.

  • I meant in general. More often than not, there are moveable objects around a Tank's spawn that once sent flying, can immediately incap a survivor if it so much as taps thier heel.

  • rofl Tanks CAN be a good sub in not lit, really rofl. i literally killed two survivors; so funny really

  • Not a clue what you just said.

  • i remember tank having the "rage" bar or something, if he doesnt hit survivors he'll lose his turn, Something similar?

  • i unno old version or something?

  • It's patched now, healthbar is changeing now.

  • its only good to be a tank if the team ur facing split up or are retarted if they stick together tank dies

  • now that explains why i die so fast because of a fucking molotov

  • Just make fire actually do damage over time...

    x.x

  • I believe Tank has HP / time on fire:

    Easy - 2000 HP / 25 sec

    Normal - 4000 HP / 30 sec

    Advanced - 6000 HP / 35 sec

    Expert - 8000 HP / 40 sec

    Correct?

  • That's probably how they calculated it, yes. The tank actually just has CVARs that dictate how long it takes them to die, namely tank_burn_duration_(difficulty), which is 30, 35 and 40 seconds for Normal, Hard and Expert, respectively.

  • Tank is too easy to take down, they need to fix the fire issue.

  • Tank is hard enough to take down.

  • Not for versus mode. Too easy, especially with level 2 weapons.

  • shooting the tank slows him down, the quickest way of killing a tank is autoshot. the second quickest way of killing it is if u dont have an auto shot is whit ur dual pistols. yes. If you can rapidly shoot as fast as you can while aiming and running, ul get rid of a non burning tank real fast! The fire is just for annoyance in these matters :'

  • tanks suck unless u are playing the tank

  • not always , i just play campaign in expert , the party bug (?) and all the tank we meet were 50000 hp , and no matter on fire or not , we just have to keep battle and survive during 5 minutes long

    It was unbelievible !

  • FIRE BAD FOR TANK!!

  • On expert Tanks die in 40 seconds.

  • depends of the difficulty. on expert he dies in about 45 secs

  • Thanks for the video, do you mind if I use this fact in mine about Tank Tips and Tricks?

  • Of course not ;)

  • I'm glad I ran into this video, I was about to upload a video of my own where I would ask the viewers, "what the shit happened when I died at over 5000 health here".

I had so much fun hurdling the car through the alleyways and crushing those people too.

  • Ok so if the tank is on fire and it's health bar is the same - that's unfair because he's got 40 seconds to live despite having full health correct? So what if in an update, Valve just tweeks it so the health burns down in those 40 seconds when the tank is on fire...then the only complaint would be "Now the shots fired on it should multiply that damage".

  • Thanks for the proof.

But you still can shoot and kill the tank. You just need to do it faster than 30 seconds.

  • Thanks for the vid but what will happen if you get set on fire and then just stop and let your "control" timer run out so you lose control and someone else spawns as the tank? Would he stay on fire??

  • Watch the vid, the control meter disappears after I set myself on fire.

  • that sucks you'd think a zombie (weak against fire lol) would go BATSHIT if someone set it on fire. -_-

  • I think this may only be for Multiplayer.

  • It's not.

  • It is only for multiplayer. The devs say the tank has a 'patience meter' (regardless if he is on fire or not) and if the meter runs out, the player loses his or her turn.

I don't know about the PC version, but the 360 version has a dev commentary section and they specifically say this in there.

so, fire or not, if you don't do anything for 30-40 seconds you lose your turn and die and someone else becomes the tank.

  • as far as i know, if your patience meter runs out you only lose control of the tank, but the tank doesn't die because of that.

  • losing control of the tank has got fuck all to do with the dying in 30 seconds.

  • shadow is right, you guys are retarded, fighting about shit that has nothing to do with this.

  • That's odd...
