Although Final Exam is nowhere NEAR the best of the 80s slashers (cuz let's face it, even the ones made today for some reason can't measure up to the best ones from the 80s despite having enough knowledge about what makes them fun and good)...I still find Final Exam has some charm to it. On repeat viewings, the characters stand out and though dull in parts, is still memorable to me. I'm not going to make it out to be great like Sleepaway Camp or House on Sorority Row, but it has its place. B-
shows how much you know about slashers. these guys fucked around for more than a half on pointless college campus scenes and shit. admittedly, it's got its moments, but beyond that it's a dull void.
lol i was watchin this vid until my dad came watched it with me and claimed he saw this movie in a cinema ages ago and he was the only person there that was watchin
They never say, the movie is a piece of shit, the killer doesn't even come in until the last part of the movie and they never say who he is or why he's killing people.
Judging from the scarcity of comments on this board, I think maybe we're the only two that remember this film! I used to have the novel that was adapted from it.

Seen first 10 years ago, didn't like it then. Too tame and too much concerned with silly students making stupid jokes. Heavily handed suspense too.
Watched it again today just to make sure I wasn't wrong, Well, it's still not so great but there's a 80s flavor in it I particularly like.
Warning Spoiler:
Too bad Radish had to die. Too bad his character wasn't openly gay. I think it would have made him even more likable as a hero.

I love how the discription calls it a slasher flick when the last 1/3 of the movie has killings, no blood, no motive, its a piece of shit.
douglasaxbm 3 years ago
That was kind of the charm of this film. The no motive thing was done on purpose, to keep you guessing.
