• this is genius

  • lol i used to think she said 'a racist got my letter in the mail'

    lovelovelove this song <3

  • I think I"m falling in love......

  • I cant tell you how good this makes me feel reading this. I thought I would be kicked out of a training session at planned parenthood for voicing the opinion that abortion is no big deal except in the minds of women getting them. I was told I didnt understand because I am a man and one woman actually said planned parenthood was there to try and make sure no woman had to make that terrible choice Give me a Fucking break! Its time we started respecting shame free choice!

  • haha

    her face when melissa told

    and

    hot mailman

  • I thought the line was "to see Blue in October", that is, the boyband Blue!

  • i love this!

  • ??????????????

  • Is the image of Oasis copyrighted or something?

The one Christian has a big creepy smile.

  • That mailman absolutely KILLS me every time I see him. :) Her eyebrows are just crazy, are they painted on entirely or just really creatively shaved in parts and extremely plucked?

I'm actually kind of surprised that there aren't posts from people objecting a song having the death of about a hundred cells in a blastocyst in it.

Meanwhile those folks go and swat a fly just because it annoys them.

  • damn, i love her!

  • i never get tired of this song or this video!

  • Is one of the guys on guitar Simon Amstell? Or am I the only one that things it looks like him.

  • I LOVE THISSSS

  • you obviously dont know any rapists ;)

  • ive met amanda - shes a really down to earth, lovely woman. dont bag her out.

anyway, this is her way of dealing with abortions and stuff - she had one at 17 and was raped at the age of 20, so it isnt like shes poking fun at people who have had them. shes trying to lighten the situation up.

  • i love melissa :3

  • I can see y this offensive...especially those who've had a traumatic experience with abortions etc

The song itself is not her best but I dont think banning it is doing anyone a favor.

  • If Jarvis Cocker were a woman, he would be Amanda Palmer.

  • This is awesome! I wish life were like this...

  • this video and amanda palmer are ridiculously wonderful.

  • Apparently this video is banned off t.v. But you can see dozens of videos with girls shaking their arses in tiny bikinis on every music channel. Bloody typical!

  • is that angela from the office in 0:55???

  • Definitely not

  • lol "jesus hates you" I love this vid! amanda palmer is freakin awesome!

  • TE AMO CASATE CONMIGO

  • HAHA

  • so amanda palmer likes oasis?

  • I think my favorite thing is the high five during the abortion. =DD Gotta get the rest of this album.

  • haha, i love this song :)

btw, just wondering is she still in the dresden dolls?

  • The Dresden Dolls played on the inauguration day, so I'm thinkin' they'll still be making music together.

  • Yes she's still in The Dresden Dolls.

She just does this too, and Brian is in The World/Inferno Friendship Society.

  • thanks, i wasn't sure :)

  • good point.....XD

  • I agree with this song.

  • hahah go ben folds for producing this shiiiiit!

  • melissa's gonna wet herself

    i swear

    lol...

  • Amanda Palmer has no shame. cool!

  • the "melissa had told them"-that was so funny-her facial expressions.

    HA!

  • Comment removed

  • So this was banned from the UK?

People are so stupid it's not even funny...

  • i love your one Melissa's face at the end..made me laugh so hard!

  • I haven't said this in a long while, but the world needs to see this video.

  • great video!

  • The long-haired guitarist in the abortion scene is SO hot. *drool*

  • I want to make love to her voice.

  • its back!!!!

  • Loved it. Manages to make a point and had me laughing my ass off.

  • i love the English!!! i'm not sure how many Americans would even get that humor in that song. great!!! miss mohoney... classic..... i think we all know a melissa mohoney!!!!

  • Why should she? I love girls who dont dont care :*

  • Yeah, it's one of the things the fans love about her.

  • Did Ben Folds write (or help write) this song? It sounds more like one of his songs than one of Amanda's.

  • Hahaha! I hate how Amanda's mouth looks huge, but this song is the bomb! So is the video!

  • OMG! Melissa Mohoney is the funniest

  • making an upbeat song about a serious issue is hard to do but she pretty much nailed it...you find yourself smiling at the song and it takes alot of talent to be able to do that ^_^

what made this video for me is the postmans face as he took the letter and every scene with melissa and the high five to the doctor.

  • Haha, awesome.

  • the boyfriend from 1:08 to 1:20 is probably the best fucking part of this video...only just beating the coat hanger and the mailman

  • I know...I didn't notice him at first but now I'm obsessed with him. :)

  • yeah i'm serious

  • ...are you serious? how is she making fun of oasis at all?

  • when i heard this song was banned i looked it up

no idea it was so wacky!!

    why bann it??

  • A very fun video made even better by ridiculing Christian retards who can't mind their own business.

  • Wow. I think it was very gutsy of her to make this into a upbeat song despite the lyrics. Nevertheless i think it's catchy.

  • None of it irked me at all. I just didn't find that particular part funny. How come it irked you?

  • It's okay, you're not alone. Most people don't know what irony means.

But regardless, this is most certainly not a comedic imitation of something from an existing genre of art. So no, that isn't the word I'm looking for at all.

  • Amanda Palmer's charisma is palpable in this video. I love her facial expressions. The Brian-Wilson-like arrangement is infectious. (Yay Brian!) I hope she isn't discouraged by the silliness of her critics.

  • Yay Amanda!!

This song is actually BANNED in most places.....can you believe it?! For cereal, lyke, please don't change!!

  • some people just look for something to attack. They don't mind what you try to say, just what they want to hear,

Thanks for this song amanda, please, dont change!

  • I've been listening to this song over and over for the past two hours XD

    You gotta love Amanda <3

  • =3 Abortion you say? I think I like this woman.

  • Blasphemy!!! And I'm not conservative or christian!!

    ZING!

  • lolwut? xD

  • so upbeat. i love amanda palmer and all of her music. :D

  • I love this video soooooo much it makes me so happy every time i see it

  • nothing better then a coat hanger abortion

  • A brilliant, textbook use of irony. I approve!

  • I know it's making light of serious issues, but that's what makes me love it...I've had a pretty bad day myself but listening to this made me feel better, it's saying that life isn't over, even though terrible things happen you don't have to let those things drag you down.

  • I think the postman at 0:38 is my favorite character.

I love this song and video. So messed up.

  • Me neither. Love the video, but that part is just there.

  • i love the christian womans face at 0:55

amanda paaalllmmeerr <3 i love her music. and her xD

melissa in this is just hilarious her face is priceless. seriously people being offended by this need to calm the fuck down xD

  • amanda "fucking" palmer, we love you!

  • LOL 0:54 SO FUNNY!

  • Omg look at her face at 0:54

  • Obviously some people don't know the true meaning of being ironic. That's what this song is: complete irony. She wrote a blog about it on her Myspace, and she is disgusted by people who can't understand a point through this mode of literary devices. Some people actually make a joke about things like this. It's the way of the world. Grow a pair and get over it. She can sing what she wants, she doesn't need people telling her what to say and think. That's a bit brutish, ain't it?

  • Amanda, you rule! Get a sense of humour people!

  • melissa<3

    xD shes brilliant in this

  • she is weird but hot. love females like that

  • Great music video!!

    hilarious

  • She is so god damn cute in the weirdest way..^^

  • i actually LOVE this! always makes me feel good and not get sad about the jobbies this world has to offer.

i love you amanda, please come back to Glasgow :D xx

  • You know, the mere notion of it getting banned would prolly make more people listen to it. Anyways, controversy aside, Amanda, you're fabulous. Don't ever change.

  • gold star amanda

  • This song is just amazing

    x

  • Hilarious.

  • the whole point of this song is that she's trying to convience herself she doesn't care, hence the tongue-in-cheek OTT happiness of this song. I think it's brilliant.

Plus Oasis are so anti-abortion... aha

  • is that ben foldes playing the boyfriend?? i cant tell...

  • no, it's not :( but it'd be amazing if it was.

  • I do believe it is

  • Amanda, I love you and this video made me hot for you ;-)

  • hahaha

    the postman

    made me lol

that song is fuckin shit hot

  • My favourite part of the video is from 1:06-1:20, when they're singing the "pa pa pa" part. The really intense look on the boyfriend's face while he's singing the cheerful lyric just kills me.

  • I love this.

  • This song is so catchy!

  • so creative!

    i love this video

    amanda is awesome!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

Amanda Palmer is a true artist

    :)

  • I'm laughing so hard right now. That was awesome.

  • Amanda is so fucking gorgeous.

And this song is awesome btw.

  • YOU'RE a fucking bitch.

  • Gotta love you and your vids, Amanda ;D

  • Who plays Melissa? I love the Clara Bow look shes got :D

This is a great video, epitomises the word 'irony' that some folks have clearly misplaced...Anyhey, long live Amanda!

  • However, my dream is to sing this in front of the teacher of religion, ahah.

  • DO IT.

  • I really wish this song was much longer, around eight minute or so.

    It's rally well done.

  • fucking hilarious

  • It's not a parody, it's irony. If you can't see the complete overtone of denial then you are a fucking lemming.

  • love it!

  • melissa's cute :3

  • Oh, the random. Amanda Palmer, you are genius.

  • Their refusal to play it just shows how irrelevant traditional media is becoming. The internet is free of censorship.

  • Deliciously weird and funny. :-)

And the radio stations refuse to play this song?

    Fuck 'em.

  • hahaha, I lovee this song (: its so funny, and its really good. I keep listening to it.

  • I can't believe that music and TV stations are refusing to play this because it "makes light of rape, abortion and religion"

I mean, how thick do you have to be not to realise that this song is ironic, a parody, and about how difficult it is to deal with rape, rather than saying that these things are funny?

  • Excellent ditty, although it took me quite a while to realize that it has nothing to do with Amanda Plummer.

    FSM Hates Christians.

  • This is the best f*cking video ever.

  • I cannot stop watching this video. I have probably seen it three dozen times this week. Oh, obsession. Every time I see it I get amazed by another facial expression by one of the people in the video, and it just keeps getting better.

  • This was hillarious ... the best part is that it's being played on famous science blogs (wtf).

  • I can't undrstand why Oasis is in this song?

  • Comment removed

  • Oasis are anti-abortion

  • We need to grow up and see what this is really about? Well, the writer of this song had a blog where she tells us what this song is really about. According to her, it IS ironic.

  • Comment removed

  • amanda palmer is god.

  • she is THE goddess.

  • People need to stop making this song an excuse to argue about abortion, and take it for what it is: a funny, original, daring song by a beautiful, creative woman. Amanda, everything you do is wonderful and inspiring. Keep it up, dollface.

    all my love,

    Zie

  • This is the most brilliant thing I've seen all year.
