  • I wish I spoke that language man! Haha dude is laughing while speaking about the elbows landing and watching the guys fall down haha. So many people don't understand how fucking brutal this sport is.

  • Why i see the elbow KOs are more brutal than knee KOs?

  • Thai (North-East) language

  • that chink doin the talkin needs STFU

  • Haha if only you guys understood thai, it'd be entertaining.

  • I love the way the guy in red sets up the shot in 3:01. Awesome clinching! Love this sport! :)

  • Looks like the same 2 guys having like 10 rematches.

  • hahaha fuck this language,,, aaaaaaaaa bing bing bing bing aaaaaaa dung dung dung dung loooool

  • 2:24 is the sexiest thing ever

  • the dude sounded like an excited gremlin

  • is that jar jar binks talking?

  • ich versteh kein wort...wäre es dadurch besser?

  • hahahaahaaa i wish u guys understand the commentator, so funny

  • sounds lke starwars jibberish. haha.

  • @GreekAnarchist

    that's the way it is.

  • i got hit once on a training.. i was sparring with my mate and he tried to hook me.. well he missed but cought me with his elbow my an accident .. it hurts as hell.. during my 3-year training, i got kneed, kicked, punched, i had 2 broken ribs, 1 broken toe, 3 fights, and the elbow hurts the most

  • WTF happened at 00:40 ? MAGIC MUAY TAI CHI MASTER

  • @crabbit87 elbow to the temple :P

  • @hellopoko that would kill....

  • theyre for cutting, theres no leverage on them compared to a kick or a punch.

  • @fuzion66 did u even watch this clip??? do u see any cuts??? no!!! jus KOs

  • @tomlang just saying, very seldomly do landed elbows ko.

ive been training in muay thai for years now, they do cut the opponent and are a set up for a more likely ko like a kick or a punch

  • @fuzion66 let someone elbow clean in ur head and tell me ders no leverage lol

  • @darerhian ive been elbowed plenty of times, there is no leverage as opposed to a kick or a punch. yes, you can get knocked out by an elbow, you can get knocked out by falling funny and tapping your head on any surface.

just saying, the majority of elbows in muay thai kickboxing don't end in knockouts, but moreso in cuts and gashes, and injuries that will leave the opponent blind to a knockout.

  • @fuzion66 i dont agree but i respect your opinion man

  • @fuzion66 Don't be foolish dude. Elbow is strongest weapon on human body! You need 25% less power to KO someone with an elbow in compare with an kick or punch, that's mostly because you hit with an hard bone and with elbow you just aim for the face nothing else.

  • @marintoss lol so you calculate 25%? who came up with that number.

dont be foolish. go train/talk with some amateurs and theyll tell you the same

  • @fuzion66 Don't laugh at the statistics... Elbow is not just for cutting it is for killing, cutting is just extra bonus. I don't need to talk nor train with amateurs. You do that.

  • @fuzion66

    haha, idiot (no offence)

  • @fuzion66 You're probably a UFC fanboi, elbows can be used for cutting or KO's depending on how they are used. There's plenty leverage on elbows, they're short but powerful, especially when some bodyweight is behind the technique..

  • @fuzion66 well you need to work on your technique

  • @fuzion66 Check the elbow coming after 0:23, major leverage and torque. Also the elbow after 0:56.

@tomlang thanks for uploading, real fighters never overlook the power of the elbow strike.

  • No the dude sounds like an alien from Star Wars!

  • คนพากษ์เป็นใครว่ะ

  • บักห่าขั่วคนพากษ์ แม่งมันส์จริงๆ

  • This launguage is LAOS

    similar to THAI

  • Best Announcer Ever!!!!

  • The voice geegling just kind of eating tai worms by watching

  • Amazingly brutal!

This martial art is so dangerous but pretty to watch.

  • tuki tang tang

  • who thinks elbows are useless have never been hit by one.

elbows are harder than fists and a clean hit can fracture your skull.

even a lightweight can KO a heavyweight with elbow.

  • precisely.

thai fighters die in the ring all the time. guess what the number one reason for death is? fuckin elbows

  • @cheeco8

    absolutely true

  • Funny announcer

  • Comment removed

  • Gotta love them elbows...

  • That's not an announcer - it's a character from Star Wars. Sounds like someone Han Solo would do business with.

  • Knees and elbows, most lethal body parts by far

  • That guys voice makes me want to hurt myself and those around me. Trust me, they didnt hire him for his vocal skills. Its what a blasted elephant would sound like if they could talk.

  • 3:42 perfect

  • We are allowed to u se them in Ontario Canada in Amateur fights, and adams apple is a scoring blow as well.

  • 1:29 is a killer knock out

  • The dude sounds like a Thai, Krusty the Clown.

  • lool

  • @BenDover6683 HAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!! This comment made my night :P thanks dude XD

  • i can see why those are illegal in the US.

  • elbows are allowed in America you just got to find the right sanctioning body to allow them Muay Thai fights in California and Nevada allow them watch Lamsongkram vs Yohan Lidon on here.

  • then maybe it's just in NY.

  • 2:16 HOLY CRAP!

  • the language in this vid is the the north-eastern dialect.

  • if anybody understood lao or thai this would be so hilarious i do and im laughing non stop

  • Why does not elbow allow in international fight? This clip tells you obviousely. It is too dangerous style.

  • they are allowed internationally the past few Slamm events in Holland have had Muay Thai with the elbows. There was just a even in France not so long ago that allowed the elbows. New Zealand and Australia have no problem have fights under FTR.

  • Sok!!!!!!!

  • This is my favourite vid!!!

  • you can use elbows as long as you dont Strike downward using the point of the elbow. i checked it up on the ufc website

  • exactly! i heard the same when i was in Thailand

  • I don't know if this is Thai or not, but whatever language it is, I could probably never learn it and have a serious conversation with someone without laughing my ass off; It's gotta be the goofiest language in the world!

  • reason why becuz hes like criticizing and making fun of him and yeah hes speaking in lao not thai

  • Of course you can knock people with elbows but the vast majority of KOs still come from kicks and punches.

Elbows leave nasty cuts, that's a fact.

  • you right but the problem lay in that most of the people dont really put "body" behind those elbows strikes - they just swing an arm and it all - if you punch like that you will never knock anyone out - simple true.

  • I agree wholeheartedly, but the problem with going in with your full body like in hooks with a hook-elbow is that it leaves you extremely exposed if you punch trough or miss. This is because you are so close.

That's why I personally prefer to use maximum rotation power from the shoulders but very little from the hips. If I hit an elbow from beneath or from above I go in with my body too. I think it's just a matter of philosophy really. What suits best for your style so to speak.

  • (continuation)

For my style elbows is purely for cuts unless I see a clear opening.

While I do find elbows to be one of the most enjoyable aspects of muay thai and admit that you can easily land a more effective hit with an elbow than you can with a punch, it's just not for me.

I definitely see where you are going with this, but in the end I think it's about style.

    //DM, kick some ass ;)

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus My understanding was that the majority of KO's were from elbows. Can anyone from Thailand verify?

  • @Dorkus89Malorkus

yeah but there are elbow specialists out there aswell.

the reason we never see anyone ko:ed from elbows in crap fighting leagues like the ufc is that they don't know how to throw a decent elbow. (there are some exceptions of course)

  • "Tomlang!"........anybody who says that elbows are only good for cutting and nothing more are

    (A)Stupid

(B)have never been hit with one!!!! and

    (C) need to be hit with one!

just once to open their eyes to the reality of Damage elbows can cause!

I'd much rather hit someone with my elbow than my fist cause I know my elbow won't hurt even if my strike lands on his skull! but with a fist you'll be hurting after the adrenalins gone for sure!

  • YODA!

  • you made a convert of me tom!

    awesome post!

  • Is that Yoda from Star Wars commentating? ..lol

  • did u watch this clip lol ?

  • LOL.. this language is hilarious..

  • these guys weight lik 105 pounds

  • and?

  • I didn't know there was any question of the effectiveness of elbows for striking. These people in your video certainly have it figured out.

  • The reason why MMA guys say this, is because they don't know how to throw proper elbows. Look how fast, sneaky, and explosive these guys are. Watch UFC guys try to do this in clinch, slow, and telegraphed.
