  • 64 bit version of Windows Vista currently not supported (states on sites FAQ), so completely pointless in trying to install in a 64 bit environment.

Probably the reason why it won't show up for some people.

  • Dude, I thank you for taking the time out to help, but for the life of me, it's not working, I've looked over and over and over, I repaired it Over and over and over, I've Uninstalled it Reinstalled it and it ain't working...I've got that X-B0x 360 Black Verison maybe that's why I don't know

  • Ya I installed MCE and the option doesn't appear in the media center. any suggestions would be awesome. To make sure I'm clear, I don't have the app MCE to check. perhaps another program is avail?

  • okay, i installed the stuff.......i opened media centre then i went to settings and extras libray and it was there.........so yeah.....

  • @xTheMetalGodx So you got it?

  • @Musicmaddnes what i meant to say was it WASNT there....i even installed it again and clicked REPAIR and it still is under my library or library settings

  • @xTheMetalGodx it does not work all the time it seems. I got it to work on a lot of other computers.

  • @Musicmaddnes well thanks for the video any way man.....check out my channel and subscribe...just statrted it up with vids last night :D

  • Oh yeah you can't even download it anymore, it say's that they have something so you can't do it :/

  • @all: ATTENTION: I just found out that my MCE update for windows media center, was only in effect on pc. Not available when using media center on my xbox! So, the MCE Browser was not available (even in settings) - but when i run it directly on PC it shows up.

  • okay, I GOT IT! It seems that the XBOX is using a seperate user (NOT THE ONE YOU ARE LOGGED IN WITH, ON THE PC!!). The MCE Plugin was only visible for my windows user and not public for EVERY user. Make sure, that anything concerning the WinLIVE and MCE and all plugins is visible for everyone (=install option). Then it should work! Especially under Win7 - due to security - there are many settings default for the Admin user only! Hope it helps.

  • @xTheMetalGodx same here

  • i followed everything it still dosent work do u need to restart ur laptop after u download it?

  • i downloaded mce browser but i dont see that option

  • it doesnt show up for me,plz help

  • mcebrowser doesnt show up in the extras?

  • I wasn't able to do this. I have a Compaq Presario running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit and when I downloaded MCE Browser and then started Windows Media Center, it did not show up at all.

  • @TotalMischief Did you run the program then open up media center? Then turn it on in the settings?

  • @Musicmaddnes it doesnt work i dont have mcebroswer

  • @supermanic258 Did you reinstall media center on your 360?

  • jesus christ.. took longer for me to find info on this crap then most technical crap i search on google.

    thanks for this

  • @nb14432 lol you are welcome did it help at all?

  • get hypercam

  • @mrsenseofhumor2 I do have it. Also it will not work in windows media center. I think I specifically said that.

  • on my xbox i dont have any extras.... i go to the settings and says they are all on and then mcebrowser doesnt show as one

  • @jmanindahizouse Are you using 32 or 64 bit?

  • @Musicmaddnes I having the same problem a that dude, using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Im not able to check mcebrowser to enable it because it doesnt show up at all. In the settings menu for Extras Library. Several games show up and are checked and enabled. But not mcebrowser. Tried reinstalling multiple times and still nothing. Im stuck in the sand until someone finds a fix to this problem...

  • @TheOnlyDuST Read the annotations.

  • @Musicmaddnes I know I read it, its just im showing that im another person having that prob.

  • i follwed all of your instructions.... when i went to media center task on 360, mce is not a option

  • @MiggiBx It must only work on certain computers. I had 2 or 3 people that told me they got it to work. So I am sorry I don't know what to tell you.

  • @Musicmaddnes no biggie, would have been a cool feature.... thank you bro

  • @MiggiBx

I had the same problem but i think is because you have a 64 bit computer

  • @mrikorcinus I personally tried it on both a 32 and 64.

  • :/ I tried that, but when I follow those instructions, MCEBrowser doesn't even show up as an option there. :[

  • @NotSoGuitarHeroPheno Everyone keeps saying that but I got it on the first try and I have done it to about 3 or 4 computers.

  • @Musicmaddnes you legend !!!!! thankyou for this man been trying to do this for sooo long

  • @10eLSe11 You really got it to work? Cause if so I need to thumbs up it cause people keep saying it is fake.

  • Same problem happens to me.

  • Yeah when I go into settings, it doesn't appear in the list for me to turn it on?

  • @sharonvangel I will do it on another computer tomorrow and record it. I just want to make sure you have windows 7.

  • @sharonvangel Same thing for me! Annoying..

  • @JsNilsen I got it to work on 3 computers how do I magically get it to work? And other people do not?

  • Hey I tried doing this and I ran the MCE software, but then when I open media centre it doesn't show up? I've rebooted but still can't see it there? Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

  • @sharonvangel Did you do all the steps including going under settings then to extras and turning it on?
