Having Sasha and John as monthly residents at my job @ Twilo/NYC was some of the best memories I ever had. Amazing Friday nites thru Saturday mornings of good music, great people, and lots of EXTC and K. One Hell of a party (journey)!!!
I briefly worked with a guy in 1999 who had this cd.....I have been looking for it ever since. Any chance anyone knows how I can get my hands on a copy?
am lucky enough to have original cd's of all the Northern Exposure set, This Version 1. is one of the best dance mixes ever. Its rare now so a collectors item. I also have Paul Okenfold original goa mix. another rare classic So glad i held on to these wonderful memory joggers.
Perhaps the best compilation ever, perhaps the best CD ever. Those lucky enough to have bought the CD upon release have a graphic of their mixes; the overplays are so long and so perfect, several minutes it took at times to mix two songs together. To hear some of the best ever to grace out presence with their electronic music - RITM, William Orbit, FSOL, Banco de Gaia, Morgan King, YAP. The fact that these cats tell a story with these ingredients is timeless perfection. NE #2 ain't bad also!
does someone know a familiar set like this one , that starts with calm melody and then turns into more laud trance but still keeps the calm atmosphere and it is not fast , also to still have some vocals just like the ''Rain Cry'' part and ''Out Of Body Experience part''?
'Raincry' into 'Out of Body Experience' is one of my favorite mix combinations; ethereal and simply f*ckin amazing!! and 'Out of Body Experience' live (as performed by the great Rabbit in the Moon) is an eargasm of the highest order, especially combined with the stage show; lasers, lights, Bunny in the human hamster-ball -SIIIIICK!!
@robert140602 The reason I ask is because right now there are so many "new" and for the moment being legal drugs that are floating around. For instance, you can find drugs made to simulate Hashish. I think I would lay off the needles as well, but I would not mind trying Peyote or something similar if I just knew the risks better.
@NORDSTRAND83 if you ever feel the urge to try any drugs, Id recommend psychedelics like LSD. many positive and constructive experiences had on acid myself. Health effects are almost nonexistent, not to say there aren't sometimes instances though. when used properly acid can be a great tool
i dont want to buy a copy of this CD, i already bought it once, does anyone know where I can download it? ill pay for the download (iTunes doesnt have it!). please help. this album takes me back and I just love it...

Im not a fan of electronic music, but the North CD from this album is one of the best albums EVER made for sure. If you'll be lucky enough to listen to this on a scenic spot in the snow covered Alps do not hesitate to sit down for a memorable trip...
The tune from 3:59 is the most epic unbelievable piece of dance music on the planet. Go for a walk look around and listen to it on your ipod. Makes you think!!! WHAT IS IT CALLED I cant seem to pinpoint which track it is
jI have north cd as my work out music, brilliant. just listening to the cd now, remembering when i thought that all electronic music would be as good as this and that guitar music was dead (even the beloved Wedding Present). how wrong i was !
Wow.... ive just listened to this a few times through again. From 3.56 - 6.00reduced me to full man tears. joy at the rememberance of good good times.I doubt music of this genre will peak like this EVER again.
I had this album in 1996 and took it for granted - oh the folly of youth. Tried to get it on itunes but it isn't available. Oh and it is over £70 on amazon. One of the seminal dance albums and amazing to sit and listen to. Heard sasha and digweed do it live in ibiza, unbelievable. I'll be saving 70 quid. Ya das gut!
ich schwöre euch als ich diese compi mir damals im bekifften zustand reinzog war ich net mehr auf dieser welt anwesend . keine andere music hat mich noch nie so weggebeamt wie diese.
Ive tripped to this album many times !!! I met Digweed at a club named Simons in Gainesville years back, real cool guy !! Me and a friend invested into a sheet of red gel tabs back in the day and those where the best days of my life !!
Just brilliant! The choice of records is amazing and then there is the mixing. I used to live by this album. A couple of perfect moments have certainly gone through me. It just consumes me in a cloud of blissful euphoria. What an album!
Luckily for me, the Northern Exposure 1 and 2 albums were the very first trance albums I ever listened to..and it was during that three day period of playing these albumsnon-stop, it was also the first period of time I really got high.
Cannabis and Northern Exposure will open your mind. : )
Unfortunately the ability, not the skill, of the DJ just isn't recognised in the mainstream world. Sasha was one of the first DJ's seque tracks using his musical ability or key-matching rather than turntablism and skill. This is proved quite obviously by the fact that he was 19 and a University drop-out when he start DJ'ing, compared to the likes of Digweed who started at 15. Sasha was also made to take piano lessons as a kid - his workers often come to my local record store, 3Beat.
dident know all that. but yeah man, they really are the masterminds of the progressive house scene. but only the progressive house culture really understands it.
I remember starting to listen to this when I was like 13-14 and I was fucking breath taken.... its too fucking GNARLY man!
Gives me goosebumps, especially at 4.06 with Raincry, also used in the movie 187. Unbelievable mix and if more people listened to this with their loved ones the world would be a better place.
Sweet upload dude. F***ing love this album.. So good that it effortlessly makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up whenever i listen. Pure Bliss is right!
This brings back so many amazing memories, i almost feel like crying

@robert140602 Hey, have you tried Ecstacy or any other drugs? Has it affected you in anyway now that you have become older? If so, how?
NORDSTRAND83 2 months ago
@NORDSTRAND83 I've used most drugs available, apart from injectible shit like smack etc.
I don't think it's affected me physically or indeed mentally, there's still time though.
On a serious note, and not wanting to sound like a right old cunt,if I had that time again,I wouldn't have done the drugs.
Thanks for the interesting question.

@NORDSTRAND83 ALL drugs have a potential,nasty,side affect,mate,it's not worth the bother,trust me.
Saying that,it's my firm belief that of all the drugs i have taken, alcohol has been the worse for me,a highly damaging drug.
I didn't like the hallucinogens tbh,as I always liked a semblence of control,with mushrooms for instance,one minute I was lucid,the next.......lol.

Gives me goosebumps, especially at 4.06 with Raincry, also used in the movie 187. Unbelievable mix and if more people listened to this with their loved ones the world would be a better place.

I wanna scream and shout about how good this is...
But it's just so soothing and calm I cannot bring myself to.
