@ARBO2k9 Well...Simon actually said the night of the finale (1st night)...it was a complete utter KO for Archuleta...He retracted from that the 2nd night..Probably cuz he knew who had actually WON...It was garbage....Archuleta TOTALLY outsung Cook that night...Wasn't even close....

@dreman1970 Archy was a copy, no uniqueness no personality and the only reason he got so far was little girls voting for him. Cook had some of the most remembered performances on Idol; Bille Jean, Hello, and some others, Archuleta had One great one that I liked, other than that he was generic to me, I wanted Brooke, Jason, Carly, and D. Cook, to be in the top for, but D. Arch and Syesha ruined it.

@ARBO2k9 Carly I'll give you...She got eliminated WAY too soon....BROOKE??? She was NOT that good....And JASON??? That dudes singing was HORRIBLE!!!! As a matter of fact BOTH of them were good SONGWRITERS....especially Brooke...but as far as SINGING....they were BAD....The week Carly was eliminated, not only did Brooke SOUND like crap, she screwed up, and had to START OVER...And she was STILL safe!!! THAT year right there is a perfect reason why the voting process needs to be changed

@dreman1970 ok Obviously you do not see that there are other styles of singing than power vocals, look at season 6 when Jordin won over melinda, or when Taylor Hicks won over Daughtry and a few others, and season 9 when Lee won over Crystal, or maybe this season when That scum of a singing Scotty won, over Haley and James, or when Kris won over Adam in season 8, Brooke and Jason were very good and had great comments through out the competition.

@ARBO2k9 Ok...obviously we were not looking at the same season, because the last month or so that Jason Castro was on here he was getting HAMMERED (and I still have that season on dvd from recording it. ESPECIALLY Simon....Hell PAULA was even ripping Jason, and she rips NOBODY. And Jordin didn't beat melinda, she beat BLAKE. Melinda finished third, which was a travesty. And Jordin was MUCH more of a power singer than Blake. And Taylor beat Mcphee. Daughtry finished 7th

@ARBO2k9 He did..EARLY....And the same reason you said Arch got as far as HE did...The ONLY reason Jason finished 4th was because little girls loved his looks...Because Jason Castro had limited vocal skills....I just skimmed thru that season..The last FIVE weeks he was on the show he SHOULD have been eliminated....And the judges ripped him EVERY week.....The only week he did OK was when he sung Halleluah....

@ARBO2k9 You're right....my bad.....But like I said, you're theory about the power vocals isn't consistent. If you look at each year for last 3 or 4...There are too many examples that ruin that theory. If power vocals don't win, then why did Adam get to the finale and James didn't? Why didn't Blake beat Jordin? If Arch got to the finale ONLY because little girls voting, you mean to tell me they stopped voting the night of the finale??

@dreman1970 Adam Made it because people loved his singing, james didn't because he lost votes because Girls were voting for Scotty, and Lauren, that's why. Blake lost because he sucked, Jordin was the last girl to win the show, because that's when most adults stopped watching because the Melinda travesty. Also David Cook had great power vocals, and he had girls votes as well, but he also had the older audience as well.

And Blake didn't suck...He shouldn't have been second, but he didn't suck. He was not "generic" as you keep saying. His beat boxing was different....ANd we don't know this for sure...about girls voting for specific people. If that was the case the "kids" should have been voting for Alison...It's all speculation.

@ARBO2k9 Bottom line...I enjoyed the banter back and forth about this, but as I originally said, take the power of the eliminations out of the fans hands, and give it to the judges....let the FANS vote, but let the JUDGES decide who leaves...till it gets down to four....That will eliminate 90 percent of the controversies. Now the fans will probably still screw up who should win most of the time but...Like I said, that show is unfortunately now a popularity contest and not a singing contest.

@dreman1970 that's true now, but i thought Cook was a great, and still a great singer, I love his voice, and crazy vocals, and range, Archy was good, but I just think he lost because he's not different and something new at the time. Now AI is falling, with Kris winning, Lee, and now that dreadful Scotty, idk what is going to happen with the show, and the judges now are annoying.

@ARBO2k9 Like I said, ALL of this controversy would end REAL fast, if the JUDGES (and they ARE JUDGES right?) pick who leaves out of the bottom three....The save rule does NOT work...It should be eliminated...If not why are they called JUDGES? The fans hardly ever listen to them ANYWAY, all they have been are CRITIQUERS. What are they judging? And I STILL say after what happened with Cook and Arch that the "judges" know ahead of time who won.

Respond to this video... people vote for what they like, I didn't care for Pia that much, because she was generic, and got very boring, Thia was great until she sang Heat Wave and got eliminated, (judges fault) I'm just saying if they can sing with power, and uniqueness I love it, I love Haley/james/Cook/Lambert/Allis­on Iraheta/Carly/Johns/Casey James/Siobhan/Crystal/McPhee/K­ellie Pickler/Underwood/Fantasia, ect. I understand power vocals, but that does not win the show anymore.

@dreman1970 Writing this one because I had no more space on the others, Brooke started over on that song, because she was off key, and Simon said he would have done the same thing, and so did Randy. Brooke is one of my favorite singers on the show, and showed something great and unique, I hate generic singing, I love great singing and uniqueness. which she had. so did Jason. So if Brooke should have gone home than David A. should have in the top 12 when he forgot his lyrics. They were forgiven

@dreman1970 does not mean that Cook was a bad singing, he was one of the best singers on the show period, he had great range, and had a better style that people loved, which is Rock, it's no wonder why e won by 12-13 million votes. Michael Johns yes was bad, he should have gone further, Syesha had some good songs, but others were very generic, or fell short. Cook won, and I knew he was going to, I called it when he auditioned. I knew he had something great, and the judges thought so too.

His style is so boring! Sounds like some old stuff my parents would bump in the car *gag* David Cook blows this guy away! Even if David Cook comes in 2nd place since this seems to be about a popularity contest not a talent contest anymore, Cook is still going to get a record deal and have a longer career than Archuleta. Rock sells more than pop. Check the album sales, it's a fact. Archuleta needs some more years under his belt to find his style and develop his voice & stage presence.

ok David seems like a fine young man. But i just about fell asleep. The whole performance felt like a church performance. Something Billy Graham would pull off. Which is fine if you need a spiritual lift, but when you are looking for a fun performer, David just doesn't cut it. Thats just my opinion, I am not from America so it doesn't matter.
