  • Has anyone else noticed how the first half of the song ha almost the exact same groove and feel as 'My Enemy' by The Afghan Whigs? I love both songs, but it's practically identical....

  • I have a spare ticket for the gig at Coventry Kasbah this coming friday (20th). £20. Message me if your interested.

  • READING FEST 2010!

  • LOVE THIS ALBUM SOOOOOOO MUCH :D

  • We are also from Wakefield. Just released a new EP if you could let us know what you think... click our name to go to the videos

  • I think it's awesome that such a profound and influential guitarist is working with such a little-known (at least stateside) band. It shows that he genuinely cares about the music, not the fame.

  • NME is aload of shit. They always slag of the Manic Street Preachers, for some reason, even though they change there sound so much. NME just love bands that are big at the time. They loved the Cribs but i bet they slate them for this album.

Great guitar intro, great vocals and lyrics. The Album no as good as there old stuff but still very much worth the listen.

  • really like the titles in this new album. They really know how to name songs

  • Ok, a bit out of the loop as I live in NZ and seen JM play with the Finn cre a fair bit - what is this all about? these kids are doing alright without him? would it be like Morrisey doing a Guest vocal for BUSTED? are they still going?? only questions.....

  • i like more the other albums

  • Dude. I swear i was about to type that exact comment.

  • I like it...I like it alot :P

  • man, i cant stop listening to this. loved cribs, marr is a legend... could this get any better?

nme? i'd rather shit in my own mouth than read that crap tbh

  • This new album is a masterpiece, full stop!!

  • official rating 5.5/10

  • your an idiot.

  • you need to stop reading NME

  • i dont read nme anymore. i stoppped about a year ago when they were assraping the wombats.....

  • WTF IS NME? is it a brit thing cause i hate reading these comments everyone talks about it idk what it is

  • NME is the New Musical Express, a music magazine in the UK. so yeah it's a "brit thing"

check out their website nme . com

    :)

  • explains it im a Cajun from NYC so idk i loved the cribs but now the songs feel a little emotionless

  • don't worry you're not missing anything. unless that is,you like to read a magazine that tells you what is "cool" and what is not, according to its own taste in music. they have a tendancy to latch on to bands who are perceived as "cool" and who are gonna be "the next big thing" but then slag them off at the drop of a hat if they're not "down with the scene." just a load of journalists who think their opinion is more relevant than anyone elses.

  • The sound is evolving......just let it grow into you. You'll like it.

  • what distortion does johnny marr use for the intro? cant seem to get that sound with my deville..

  • You can't say Johnny Marr has changed the band because the changes are so subtle.

It's not like their sound has dramatically changed, it seems like more of a natural progression.

  • brilliant new stuff, great old stuff.

none of this 'original fan' bullshit, just listen to the music.

  • nicely said

  • The Cribs sounding raw and rough edged as aver they were, i'm pleased to see them back to reclaim their crown

  • HELL YER. i like this album and the rifles new one is absolutely ace. similar style kinda.

  • at the drive in. havent a fucking clue who eat the drive in are.

  • LOL!!!! Eat the Drive.... that made my day

  • sounds fuck all like modest mouse. sounds more lik eat the drive in.

  • I have to agree there are flashes of Modest Mouse in this song, that part at about 0:50 for example...

  • well johnny marr is from modest mouse...

  • YES WE KNOW. several comments before me discussed how much it sounded like them, some people disagreed and I had to chime in with my input. OK?

  • One album there are way more before Johhny Marr and modest mouse sound like modest mouse, cribs sound like the cribs. Johnny Marr adds his own flavour but he doesn't change bands to what they are not.

  • I completely agree, I would consider him a supporting player to some already awesome bands.

  • Johnny Marr is from the Smiths

  • he's from the smiths ya

  • johnny marr was most famous for being in the smiths, then he also joined Modest Mouse. Now he´s a full-blown member of The Cribs

  • i think both are amazing tbh :)

  • Agreed. Just played it through. What happened? Feeble.

  • sounds like midnight oil

  • indierickenbacker - I hope that is a joke - as this sounds nothing like Modest Mouse

  • It's not a million miles away from Modest Mouse...think Bury Me With It....

  • Do you have a hearing problem? Nothing like that track or modest mouse.

  • what a class song, cant wait for the new album!

  • this kicks so much ass, it sounds like modest mouse!

  • Saw these today in HMV in Reading... was bloody brilliant.

  • great song!

  • Ignore The Ignorant!

  • Newcy uni cant wait

  • its not like there old stuff, but i do like it :)

i rekon this isnt the best to come :)

  • Can't wait for the Bristol gig, i'm gonna rip this song apart!

  • i dont know why but i cant help myself but FUCKING LOVING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3

  • they would be hipsters by keeping their sound "raw" for their fans, becuase that would be keeping their sound the same the same so they don't loose fans. they and their music have progressed because they are creative people, and you can see that with each album the music has progressed

  • Really really like it..... looking forward to the album

  • i fuckin love the cribs but this songs is average at best

  • My thoughts exactly.

  • At first I was bitterly disappointed at this effort. But it's a grower, and I'm beginning to love it.

  • Comment removed

  • I disagree.... They are the same as ever, and Marrs just made it all the more lush

  • I have a question.

    You're crazy!

  • im furious, they have lost the edge, they arn't half as sharp since they became a 4 piece, im a huge huge fan, but not loving the marr influence, i realy dont think he was needed

  • to be honest i think i have to agree slightly, they are a great band but they seem to have lost something, they sound like to many other indie bands now. still a decent tune but i prefare there earlier stuff (:

  • i agree except about being furious. i Really loved the old raw band before marr was added but this song isn't that bad. he definitely was not needed.(i kinda felt the old Cribs feel when the chorus came around)

  • Marr is the greatest thing to happen to music - The Smiths justify this...he will make The Cribs that much better.

  • Your name destroys any credibility your comment may have had.

    Great tune though.

  • Sorry, I beg your pardon...and I suppose your a Captain?! I didn't think so...

I don't think I could care any less than I already do about youtube users names but seeing as you care to remark about it, yours ain't too great either...so please don't waste my time idiot

  • Awesome song!

  • Solid tune.

  • will see them brixton december!

  • i shoulda got tickets to see them in hull..

  • Why? Hull is an absolute shit hole.

  • Yeah, i know that. I don't like it here, either. Its because i live there, so it'd been easier to get tickets for Hull, and a good band actually came too Hull, the automatic, franz ferdinand, kaiser chiefs, the kooks, the rolling stones - have all been here, i don't know why though.. haha.

  • im seeing them in hull. this is my viddd :D

  • Pssh, i'm jealous now haha! I guess I left it late for tickets, ah well. I saw the automatic and the rakes at asylum. Hope you have a good time at the gig! And i'll be looking to see if you post any videos, haha :)

  • amazing!

  • going to see them in newcastle

  • lame video though

  • Welcome back boys, this is briliant. Im so upset they have sold out in bristol (N)

  • Can't wait to see them - Newcastle and Manchester wooooooooooo

  • YOOOOO!

    See you there! x

  • im a massive cribs fan but this song isn't really grabbing me so far. hopefully it will be a grower. can't wait for the album!

  • i second

  • ye The Cribs got a new guitarist so i guess that means they can do different stuff, 1:58 amazing

  • its the guitarist from the smiths, i cant remeber his name atm, but hes amazing

  • Johnny Marr innit

  • johnny marr

  • gr8t song :) can't wait 4 new album

  • lyrics anyone?

  • This song is class way more guitar than usual :) reckon this will be evident in more songs?

  • yeah

search youtube victim of mass production

    the cribs

two guitars make more power ,volume, better sound

  • Yeah the sound will be a lot more 'full' than on the other records. It's going to be though with another guitarist on board. Marr doesn't have to sing like Jarman does, so can concentrate more on the guitar.

  • Obviously its fucking more guitar if Marrs playing

  • Agreed, bloody awesome song !

    Jarman + Marr = BloodyAwesomeF'ingBand

When is itr released ? cos ive seen August, Sptember and October ???

  • it says 7th september on their website... which would explain why they start touring that month to promote its release... seeing them on the 28th sept at hull!

  • quality tune, you can really hear the difference johnny marr makes in the band, can't wait for the album!

  • agreed, really sounds top quality !! bloody cant wait .......... yeeehhhaaaarrrrrr !!

  • This is fuckin mint, class song
