The Bulldozer uses up alot of power, it's warm and not worth the money. An FX 8150 at stock uses 243w in load, which is fucking ridiculous.
Bulldozer sucks, for the price you would be alot better off with an i5 2500K.
AMD = Another Major Disappointment. It's dogshit, I can't believe anyone spends $340 on that garbage when there's no performance leap above their previous Phenom II X6 processors. Buy an i5 2500K, i7 2600/2007, overclock, and it's better performance right out of the box. AMD doesn't realize this at all, it's not the quantity of cores that matter, it's the quality and efficiency that matters most. Four core Sandy Bridge beats eight cores? Come on man. Just absolute dogshit.
@FullFledged2010 well one that most overlook thing is the hard drive, switch to SSD and everything will improve in gameplay 8cores that 16cores wont matter they can even make 50cores and still it wont matter if doesn't performance well. Phenom 955 is weak compare to the new A3850 apu for around the same price.
if you still loyal to the brand just upgrade to 1100T to save money vs the FX8150. definitely look into hard drive first.

All these benchmarks should be based on null values not overclocked values. As it stands, a 1866Mhz DDR 3 bus against 1333Mhz DDR 3 bus might have an advantage alas it depends on the rest of the architecture. 8 cores against 4(8) cores they might not be much of a difference.

@MrSuckmyballs32 From what I have heard from the official AMD news, the 8150p will be stock at 4.00 GHz and will be able to go to 4.40GHz with turbo. I think it could easily get to 5.00GHz with the right cooling. Think about the possibilities with 8-10 cores running at 4 GHz or more. I am very excited to see the next few years in PC hardware. One thing is for sure, consoles R in trouble again, the PC has made a real comeback thanks to AMD.

I was reading and what i found about all that ammount of cores is becasethey are supposed work is sharing the work between 2 small cores (just imagine the size there are 8 of that stuff on 32nm o_O) and then work better than a very amazing Intel Core with shares resources to make the things easier, so unless AMD really putted a nice conection and amazing power in the small cores, the graph is a really serious doubt.

The thing that sets the new AMD cpu apart from Intels new gen, is that they aren't threading, but using multi cores as one large cpu, if I'm not mistaken. I think the benchmark numbers can be true, but it depends on the software used to benchmark it. @21boxhead Already got a set of dual gtx570's and a phenom 965 @ 4.2 and it maxed out my cpu at 95-100% constand load getting only about 35-50fps.
And when i put it back to stock speeds the fps dropped below 30fps so it was deffinitly bottlenecking my graphiccards

Bf3 is very VERY cpu demanding especially in 64player maps so i'm not surprised this would happen.

@TheXtremeGamer90 Well you said CPU, so I was thinking about your processor, not video card. And BTW lag is usually having to do with RAM and in some cases VRAM. So it stands to reason that getting a new card could fix that issue.

but LGA 1366 despite not overclocking as well as 1155, was indeed better, for starters 1155 as of yet has to release a cpu with 6 cores, also why only have the cpu with only 16 pci lanes? the problem is Intel marketed this "second geneartion CPU" as a performance successor to their previous generations cpu's Xeon included, but for enthusiast users, despite their overclocking capabilities, having only 16 pcie lanes makes near impossible to have 3 EFFECTIVE gpu configurations aka SLI AND CROSSFIRE

@SlugNation because some of us will be doing CPU intensive applications as well as multitasking, look i dont hate intel and yea, more cores dont matter when most software wont even use them, but the thing is, AMD is trying to address the Core/thread question, where intel forces 2 threads out of 1 core, Bulldozer is a more effective design where a core is really 2 cores and they both have dedicated threads, so in theory they should be just as good as any Intel cpu right out now if not better

@MrSuckmyballs32 Actually Crysis used all 4 cores way back in 2007. Many games these days are actually requiring the multi-cores. Octocore means you are prepared for the future. I know I ain't gonna regret buying this beast.

@onimotoko regardless of which way we look at it, we cant deny the fact that this will be a 3.8Ghz (4.2Ghz turbo) 8 core that will put Sandy Bridge back to the drawing board.
imagine just how far we could push this new thing with the right cooling.
and forget about the Intel dilema, having to buy a new motherboard every time, because AMD actually tries to prolong the lifespan of their boards as much as they can.
This is a good time for us PC enthusiasts.

@MrSuckmyballs32 From what I have heard from the official AMD news, the 8150p will be stock at 4.00 GHz and will be able to go to 4.40GHz with turbo. I think it could easily get to 5.00GHz with the right cooling. Think about the possibilities with 8-10 cores running at 4 GHz or more. I am very excited to see the next few years in PC hardware. One thing is for sure, consoles R in trouble again, the PC has made a real comeback thanks to AMD.

honestly that thing will probably hit the 7Ghz with water cooling, or maybee some bad ass air cooling. regardless of how fast it will be, atleast we know that the 990FX boards will last us a good time, and I am sure that they will also release an even higher end 8 core cpu as AMD usually does. i think the i7 2600K will find its been unfairly outclassed, sorry intel AMD is back.

I was reading and what i found about all that ammount of cores is becasethey are supposed work is sharing the work between 2 small cores (just imagine the size there are 8 of that stuff on 32nm o_O) and then work better than a very amazing Intel Core with shares resources to make the things easier, so unless AMD really putted a nice conection and amazing power in the small cores, the graph is a really serious doubt.

Why would anyone need an 8 core cpu? There isn't really anything out there that fully utilizes a 4 core cpu yet.....I have a Core I7 running @ 4.2ghz with 2 GTX 580's in SLI.....why would someone need 8 cores? There isn't ANYTHING I can't run right now on 4 cores.What programs/games are gonna utilize 8 cores 100%? Answer = NONE!

for the record it wasnt a cpu recall for intel, its was a sata controller on the chipset, but about the amd thing, as much as i love my cheap and powerful amd, i wont believe the "benchmarks" til i have one in my hands. But to top it off, its an 8 core with pipeline technology, similar to cuda from nvidia

The thing that sets the new AMD cpu apart from Intels new gen, is that they aren't threading, but using multi cores as one large cpu, if I'm not mistaken. I think the benchmark numbers can be true, but it depends on the software used to benchmark it. I'm already on the fence on this, I really wanna a killer cpu from AMD, I'm tired of Intels high price=high performance, it's bs

3.already has been stated 50% faster than currant Phenom II cpu's
4. Phenom II x4 975 @ 3.6Ghz, 1100T x6 3.7Ghz turbo core?
5. quad channel memory.
all that you need to do is look at the old and you can see what the new will be like.

i am pretty sure zambezi will be MORE than 50% faster. and yes that leak is fake since there was 3 mistakes in that slide.
-8 cores
-3.5 ghz+
-500mhz turbo when using all cores(even more while using less than 8 cores)
-completely new architecture. which will result in 20-60% better performance clock for clock.
