Photos mean nothing unless they are verified and proven as the first-hand documentations. You need to present datas such as who took the pictures, under what kind of circumstances, when and where, etc. Even in those days, photos could be manipulated, and have been used out of the context.

Magee, Vautrin, Rabe,..... None of them witnessed anything at first hand. Their accounts were based on heresays. The accounts by Hallett Abend and Tillman Durdin for New York Times did not mention any massacre in December 1937.

For example, John Rabe provided different numbers for the so-called victims to different people. To make long story short, in the end, his accounts were dismissed by the German military that his accounts were solely based on what he was told by the Chinese without any verification.

However, the Nanking population was 250,000 before Japanese soldiers came. Moreover, the number of the population increased to 270,000 in Feb, 1938. How can you explain about this fact? As far as Nanking is concerned, there is the Documents of the Nanking Safety Zone, which was recorded under the auspices of the Council of International Affairs of the Nationalist government, which concluded that the population before the arrival of the IJM was around 200,000. A month later it increased to soem 250,000. There was an increase, not decrease, of the population of Nanking.

Photos mean nothing unless they are verified and proven as the first-hand documentations. You need to present datas such as who took the pictures, under what kind of circumstances, when and where, etc. Even in those days, photos could be manipulated, and have been used out of the context.

Magee, Vautrin, Rabe,..... None of them witnessed anything at first hand. Their accounts were based on heresays. The accounts by Hallett Abend and Tillman Durdin for New York Times did not mention any massacre in December 1937.

For example, John Rabe provided different numbers for the so-called victims to different people. To make long story short, in the end, his accounts were dismissed by the German military that his accounts were solely based on what he was told by the Chinese without any verification.
