i upgraded my ram from 2gb (2 x 1gb) to 4gb (2 x 2gb) but when i check my computer properties it says i only have 2.80gb. Is this ok or should it be 4gb?

Heloo i have a truble with my hp530, first my hard disc have a truble a buy new one, then my hp530 is overheating i have done a new paste and now it's cold, but i have now a new truble, some times computer working good sometimes it's die about 30s, computer die like no power intro them, no working and i need to reboot 20 times before working correctly a then about 10 minutes die again, so i dont now what it's a trouble ? Sorry for bad english... Thanks for help.!

I have one of the newer hp laptops with the hard drive protection feature where if you drop it the hard drive is locked up, do you know how to replace the hard drive or a link that shows instructions, it is different from my other laptop. Thanks

hi, i have a toshiba satellite a75-s231 laptop w/ 333ghz. my original 512 memory is bad (keep gettin blue screen)and i dont think i can take it apart and replace it myself. there is a 2nd slot for mem upgrade. my question is: can i add a new 1 gig stick in the 2nd slot along with the bad stick in the first slot(cause the first slot memory is i guess permanent, it dont pop out)??? or do i have to replace the bad mem in the first slot? please advise me cause im clueless. thanks JJ in Knoxville

Indeed i can :D

Go to HP's website and find your model laptop and in the supprt pages there are guides for upgrading pretty much everything yourself, that will highlight where to find the ram and install it :)

Next, in internet explorer, go to crucial's website and click the system scanner - this will tell you the exact spec of ram that suits your system :D

my screen goes completly blank after putting the RAM in. I have scaned my Laptop on crucial website and i have bought the rite RAM but after putting the RAM in the screen goes blank even if i leave it on for 10 15 minutes
