I honestly don't see the point of even addressing the issue, it's funny the only rebuttal videos to HTWW are just about things like this.
@Mirovozzrenie100 i've come to accept there are a lot i things i was wrong about, concerning htww. however, i will not admit i was wrong about this, just because the person being misquoted is now someone i disagree with politically, that being mark lloyd. regardless of what his opinion is of how radio shows should be run, he doesn't deserve to have to words taken completely out of context, to make it seem as if he supports some marxist dictator.
Garry Habermas debate with Antony Flew on the issue " did Jesus rise from the dead ?"
a professional debate judge who was asked to evaluate the debate concludes
the historical evidence , though flawed , is strong enough to lead reasonable minds to conclude that Christ did indeed rise from the dead .... Habermas dose end up providing "highly probably evidence" for the historicity of the resurrection " with no plausible naturalistic evidence against it"
There are no contemporary historical sources that show that Jesus even lived. But for the sake of argument I'll let you have that unsupported starting point. Where, outside of the Bible, do you find evidence that Jesus resurrected? The few lines in Josephus are generally acknowledged to be a later "addition" by Christian scribes.
Absolutely not. You are using the Bible to "prove" the Bible. That is circular reasoning and makes your argument null and void.
You might as well say that the Odysseus existence is proved by the agreement of this fact by his crewmen, as it is told in the Iliad. After all Troy has been found and it is reported to have existed in the Iliad too, therefore Zeus exists as well, right?
(cont)This can also apply to liberals in conservative communities as well. So it works out both ways. that is not what the founding fathers intended for our nation. That is why we have the first amendment. Freedom of speech and the press is a right not a privilage that can be revoked by government or a backward 51% of the population at a whim. Chavez wants this just like his corrupt predecessors.
you still never addressed the main issue in this video. it was not about hugo chavez. it was about mark lloyd and the way htww tried to defame him, because lloyd described a revolution that took place before chavez was even president of vz as being "incredible". perhaps you can enlighten me as to how htww took that to mean that lloyd was saying chavez' governmental takeover of the media was "a good thing".

Well at least you dont agree with that sack of shit Chavez. And the media IS accountable to the government in VZ. This notion that the media is accountable to the people is a tall tale used by socialists to excuse dictatorships. Even when that is not the case, the people can be manipulated to throw away their freedom like with the proposal of adding localism to the fairness doctrine. That is, because 51% don't agree with a radio host, that host needs to have his free speech taken away.

indeed Venezuela was corrupt but not as it in the present. today, is very very corrupt. before Chavez there was corruption and the goverment did in some case investigated and found guilty many people including one president (Carlos Andres) while in power went to jail for it. now that action against corruption is non existence . about the media the government has conatel that regulate insults against government authority but criticizing the government or an authority was legal. cont..
Chavez is still in control of Venezuela. He refuses to hold democratic elections. He refuses to respect property rights. Chavez is a dictator. He has jailed his detractors. He has bullied and harrassed dissenters. He seized control of the media. Especially media critical of his nationalizing efforts to take over businesses in venezuela. He has sole power and discretion and his regime has disolved the rights of individuals to own property.
that is not the point of this video. the video is about the democratic revolution which occured before chavez was president. that is what lloyd is saying was "incredible", not the takeover of the media.
There was no democratic revolution. Chavez seized power and hoarded it for himself. He then seized the land and the oil rights for himself. The man said it was a incredible revolution. I'm sorry cristo you picked a terrible example. I saw the full cspan coverage of this myself. I have to say that it sounded to me like he was a Chavez cheer leader. Chavez seems to be the hero of liberals in this country for some reason. Just like they adore Castro. Do you see a pattern yet?
there was a democratic revolution. well more like the staring of democracy in Venezuela in 1958. it was well before chavez. i agree with every other point you raise.
Chavez's people love him, he's done wonders for their economy (in comparison to what it was before), I don't like him, he spews too much hate speech. Looking at his actions though, rather than his words, he's not that bad.
Huh? Chavez' actions have been down right abhorrent. From his strong-arm policy against the media, to his piss poor manners speaking at the United Nations, increasing hostility toward neighboring countries (with threats to invade), to his suspect alterations to the constitution.
Chavez may have done one or two good things, but most of his actions have been anything but good. Not to mention the guy's a lunatic.
He's got shitty foreign policy for sure, and I wasn't defending his foreign policy. He's done good for his people though, and that's why they love him.
indeed. and this video is not meant to defend chavez in any way. this video has to do with the way glenn beck and htww manipulated, correction, quote mined mark lloyd, and then misquoted him and completely changed what he was saying.
was there a government take-over of the media by chavez? perhaps. but is that what mark lloyd was saying was "incredible"? no. not in the least. he was describing the revolution that took place before chavez ever took office. looking over the details of that revolution, i think most people would agree that it was incredible. how htww or beck took it to mean that the recent takeover of the media was a good thing is beyond me.
love your channel lol im new to the impact HTWW is having i have had a look at some of the arguement thunderf00t and HTWW have had and really wanna get your take on what motivates this guy his arguments have little to no facts and no logic love the video
i really can't say. a lot people want to call him a corporate shill and that's their opinion. i don't know if i believe that though, not that he isn't getting paid for his opinion, but he's been running his channel long before he was involved with cei. i think it's just his philosophy that the invisible hand of the free market will take care of everything, and i think he's passionate about, sometime a little too passionate.
One could hope he is on some corporatocracy payroll, otherwise it would be pretty sad to defend his masters without being paid some scrap from their table.
You should also see KinsmanThoughts, he has some good things to say about the sock accounts.
Lee also needs to get his terms straight, because he uses terms like czar and I remember when he used to use Marxist and Socialist as if he was talking about Communism, all 3 which have their distinct differences.
I think you are a little off the mark in this video. Chavez did deny a major TV channel, RCTV, in Venezuela a chance to renew their operating license, effectively shutting down an opposition TV channel in 2006.
"There will be no new operating licence for this coupist TV channel called RCTV. The operating licence is over... So go and turn off the equipment," - Chavez
Attacking the 'Czar' misinformation I understand, but I would refrian from defending Chavez, that is a losing battle.
yes, but that was not part of the democratic revolution chavez started in 1992. my point is the revolution was a good thing. it did give power back to the people of venezuela.
the thing is, one has to realize people do change. whether or not chavez became corrupt with political power is an irrelevant point when discussing if the revolution was a good thing. don't you think?
my country is a wreck. the inflation is about 30 percent. there are shortage of food and the are huge problems with the electricity supply all over the country just a few examples. this revolution did not give the power to the people. Chavez try in "referendum 2007" to change the constitution so the presidential term to last up to 7 years and have continuous reelection not just two like before. he want stay as long as he cans.
The revolution, or coup, in 1992 was a failure, he had less than 10% support from his own military forces and eventually gave himself up to Carlos Perez. The next revolution in 1998, when he was democratically elected has also turned into another failure. He promised to get rid of kleptocracy but has only made it worse in that it is now a fascist kleptocracy. He has limited free speech through violence at anti-chavez protests, as well as destroying a free press and continuing to rob the people.
I agree that a revolution was needed and is still needed. The kleptocracy rule over Venezuela has indeed created a massive poverty class and a very small ruling elite with very little inbetween, but totalitarianism was not the answer to Venezuela's deeply ingrained culture of aristocracy. The best model of success that Venezuela could follow in hopes of lifting itself from the hole they are in is Botswana, with the ultimate goal of a model like Norway.
I will say that the denial of the operating license to RCTV after their collaboration and open support of coup leaders makes me question what the consequences of such actions would have been in the US had a major network done the same.
Still, Chavez has commited enough free speech rights violations without this example for anyone that believes in freedom of speech to consider him deplorable.
one thing that happened recently( a few days) in my country is that he just made a new law for schools. to teach his political ideology to children and take away religion from private schools. tell how he is giving power to people how?
i am older i have paid much attention to news channels and in no way is Globosion inciting violence.. i can not comment for sure if rctv incite violence but i doubt they did. i doubt they did because they where basically like Globovision before they were shut down nationally.
i was old enough to know rctv did incite violence but i doubt it. the reason i doubt is because just month before they were nationally shut down they were pretty much like globovion . they bias against chavez but very peaceful.
You're defending a man who is head of "diversity" in a liberal think tank who thinks and I quote "radio shows that aren't diverse enough should pay a fee." Yeah.. yes, but that was not part of the democratic revolution chavez started in 1992. my point is the revolution was a good thing. it did give power back to the people of venezuela.

the thing is, one has to realize people do change. whether or not chavez became corrupt with political power is an irrelevant point when discussing if the revolution was a good thing. don't you think?

my country is a wreck. the inflation is about 30 percent. there are shortage of food and the are huge problems with the electricity supply all over the country just a few examples. this revolution did not give the power to the people.

He has limited free speech through violence at anti-chavez protests, as well as destroying a free press and continuing to rob the people.

cont'd....

Stick to defending Mark Lloyd, not Chavez.

i'm not so much defending chavez, as i am offering another side of the story on this particular example.

but you're right. i'll stick to defending mark lloyd, because that is who is being attacked by beck and htww.

I'll repeat what other people said, turn up the volume of your mic when recording. It's too low compared to some of the content of your videos.

one thing that happened recently( a few days) in my country is that he just made a new law for schools. to teach his political ideology to children and take away religion from private schools. tell how he is giving power to people how?
freethink15 2 years ago
probably rctv coverage was bias i think that's very possible but inciting violence, i doubt that.
freethink15 2 years ago
why's that? is it unheard of for a news org. to incite violence, especially in venezuela where there is so much tension already?
cristoballs 2 years ago
i am older i have paid much attention to news channels and in no way is Globosion inciting violence.. i can not comment for sure if rctv incite violence but i doubt they did. i doubt they did because they where basically like Globovision before they were shut down nationally.
freethink15 2 years ago
i was old enough to know rctv did incite violence but i doubt it. the reason i doubt is because just month before they were nationally shut down they were pretty much like globovion . they bias against chavez but very peaceful.
