The snare sounds amazing!!! Can you get a whole kit with that finish, but instead of it all white, can the set be black with the splatter and just the snare with the white splatter?

@branchbros The blood spatter effect doesn't show up very good on black but you could have it that way if you want it.

So all of your snare drums have amazing designs, but I feel like I can't completely tell from a mic'd recording. What is your guys loudest snare drum, would you say? Volume is an important factor to me, though I, of course, also care about the fullness and musicality of a snare. Anyway, just what is your loudest snare drum?

@ptc5010 A thicker shell and die cast hoops will help you increase volume to a point. After that, it just comes down to how hard you hit the drum. There's a limit to how loud a drum can get.

That's just an SM57 mic, no EQ, and sometimes we will use a gate to eliminate bleed from the other mics.

How on earth did you get the tone of this snare to sound soo deep? Its ironic for the fact that its 15 plies which would normally mean that the pitch would raise, Im completely flabbergasted.....

@69thedrummer You are correct that a drum with a thicker shell will have a higher natural pitch than the same size with a thinner shell. Because this snare is a large drum, we kept the tuning lower. It really defeats the purpose to have a 7 or 8x14 and then crank it super tight. I recommend drummers have snares of various sizes, smaller to larger, and tune them relative to their size. You can't expect one snare to cover all tuning ranges.
