there's a possibility that casey anthony would pass a polygraph because she is a sociopath. Sociopaths are pathological liars who often believe their own lies and are capable of passing polygraphs. So my guess is that they haven't given Casey a polygraph because if she passed it, it would only strengthen the defense team.
I think if the grandparents would try a different strategy with the daughter, it might lead to panic for the daughter and she may crack. The grandparents seem like pansies with ther daughter, That daughter seems like a spolied brat who leads the parents around by their noses.
