  • You have the most beautiful voice...you have made my day, thanks.

  • J.

In my country we say: "lindo de morrer".

    Thanks for 3'37" of beauty...

  • .....Tu as les plus beaux yeux du Monde !

  • I am an emotional man any way and i love guitar and vocals and this realy made me cry .My dear your performance is lovely and true to heart and soul.

  • Ok...Soulful...Emotionally acceptable....

  • feel the song!

  • You've an awesome voice and a very precious talent. Keep it up! :)

  • will you marry me?

  • This is an absolutely lovely rendition of Cotten's classic folk song. Your voice is wonderful; a silky Norah Jones quality with just a bit of "Tennessee Punch" to boot. Will watch for more of your work and thanks for doing this song justice!

  • great rendition ... you have a beautiful voice!

  • You are one in a million, the way you are truly honoring Elizabeth Cotton with this performance. Thank you.

  • what a lovely voice!

  • Hey Jasmine,

That was great. I really enjoyed that tune. I wish I could have seen your picking style and the chords. You sing great. Love it!

    Doug

  • Great cover! I literally had a smile from ear to eat the whole time I was listening to this. You have the prettiest blue eyes btw

  • Kia ora im from New Zealand and I love your rendition of this song, btw you sound a little like Nora Jones. Well done, im impressed keep it up. your dad taught you well, arohanui from Eug, NZ...

  • I LOVE this song and I've known it for so long! Its really beautiful. You've done great and I'm blown away by how easily and beautifully you pull it off! Nice job!

  • I've never heard this, I really like it.. Nice soulfulness to it.. and wrote at eleven! wow.. I couldn't run in a straight line when i was eleven ha.. I agree with the other comment there, you should back up the camera a little bit, I play guitar myself, it'd be nice to see you playing

  • congrats, I thought they didn't make women like you anymore haha, I guess there is still is beauty, elegance, and class out there~~ just few are far between.

You should be proud that you can appreciate and even do justice to the greatest of the blues.

  • Wonderful!

  • Love your voice! You should back your camera up so we can see you play! Sounds great!

  • Wow, Beautiful playing and singing!

  • gag

  • As a blues lover, it's rare to hear someone outdo Elizabeth Cotten and Joan Baez. I hope you use it in your repertoire as your version is exceptional. Thank you!

  • wow. great voice

  • nice

  • Yeah, just a little folk song. A folk song rendered by a wonderfully talented, and wonderfully sensitive artist who remained true to the spirit of an 11 year old girl who wrote of escape and peace in death. I don't know your name, young lady, but a lot of us now know your soul.

Thank you. You are so special.

  • 18 people need their ears and eyes checked.

  • Very nice tempo ---pretty girl with a very pretty voice. Gave me goose bumps...

  • Elizabeth Cotton played a right handed guitar upside down with the bass strings pointing to the floor and had to learn all those chords that way round - This astonishes me !! You do such a great job with this ! Great to hear her music being kept alive and what a lovely tribute !!

  • Such talent and beauty and lovliness is a rare sight these days. Gives me hope..

  • Beautiful in every way, you brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.

  • I think you sound incredible! In reference to the poster who said you needed to change to honor elizabeth, One doing a cover of another artist's song its not about how well you imitate that artist's voice or their picking style etc. Its how well you let that passion flow out when you are playing it that makes it a beautiful cover. Making it your own makes it that more special to you! Jasmine you did great!

  • cool

  • very very good.

  • She sounds amazing. She makes the song her own.

  • That did honour the memory of Elizabeth Cotton

  • Very nice cover, thanks!

  • Very Nora Jones, very nice. Loved it from beginning to end, don't change a thing. Thanks for sharing your gift.

  • Sorry but you need to either improve ur voice or improve ur guitar finger styles. If not, then you don't honor the memory of Eliz Cotton.

  • @DavidNathanWalker ...this girl kicks ass and is best alone in front of the home video cam and and mic...she's a breath of fresh air!!! I suppose you want her to play the guitar lefty and play with the heavy strings on the bottom too.

  • @DavidNathanWalker She doing this in her own style and played it great. If you want the original put on the record. To say she did not play and sing this well is just a dumb statement.

  • wow, girl~ u are so talented!!:)

  • Lovely rendition.

  • Great cover of a great song - CGC

  • nothin like good lookin chicks playin something other than a typical pop song on their guit's. beautifully done!

  • Bravooo!!! From Greece...

  • i heard elizabeth cotton do this live in oregon long time ago.

    nice job.

  • wow! great work girl!

  • fantastic song. too bad your excellent guitar playing is out of camera focus.

  • Awesome performance. What a beautiful job.

  • greetings from germany , you rock!!

  • i dislike the lyrics, but thats not your fault. good singing.

  • I enjoy watching your facial expression and pretty blue eyes while singing this song. I wish you would have filmed your guitar to be able to follow your finger picking and the chords of this song. It sounds like you have a capo on the first fret of your guitar.

  • dang that's good. gettin' chills over here

  • beautiful song. beautiful voice. beautiful blue eyes. what's not to like?

  • I was looking for Alan Jackson's Freight Train..

  • I'm french, but I love this song !! It's a very beautiful song !!

  • Gooood arange!!

  • beautiful!

  • very nice song blue eyes:-)

  • beautifully done

  • Very nice. I looked at some of your other videos and I think you ought to try out for America's Got Talent. (AGT) Even if you don't win (which I think you will), you will get a lot more exposure and maybe someone will give you a recording contract, that is if you are interested in going that direction. If not, I enjoyed your singing. Very well done.

  • it's not NITRO's Freight Train :(

  • @BGmetalhead ahahahahahahaahahahahahah

  • @Fingerstyleshred9 nitros freight train is almost 100% different then elizabeth's

  • How does this have more views than the original? oh... wait....

  • @BlackHoleBrew42 Yeah of course, kinda expected.

  • Sweet yet powerful voice and picking. I think I just Fell in love.

  • You are absolutely gorgeous. I was stunned by your beauty so much that I even had hard time paying attention to your guitar play, but in the hindsight I think that it was actaully very good, and so was your singing. Good luck to you dear!

  • wish i could see your fingers, well nice voice ..wish you luck...

  • Nice rendition!

  • Beautiful cover by an even more beautiful young lady.

  • Excellent !! :)

  • everything about your video is beautiful. I felt so relaxed listening. thank you :)

  • Wonderful cover of this cool song!

  • I'm in love!!!!!!

  • Show your fingins.

  • Beautifull song, voice and woman!!!!

  • Music is the sound of life's richness... That's why having a good heart always comes first. That little pitch bend moment in the guitar only part hit me just after I got all teary eyed thinking how a freight train is like a persons life. It was empathetic... Like all the good things your Pa showed you saying to the person moved by the words of that song: " I think I know what you're feeling." I think it all means that you love music! Thank you for sharing something that I think will give a lot

  • When I watch this video, I think of the very first time you played completely for your Pa

  • Какая кошечка...

  • Elizabeth tu est une tres belle fille qui a une magnifique voix et qui joue de la guitare parfaitement bien ;) Bisou et a bientot

  • This is so pleasant...I have been listening to this the whole night & still can't get enough of it. Your version of the song & the emotion put into it, takes the listener to another world. a world of happiness & harmony. Very very Good!! You should put this out on record :D

  • Beautiful cover, and my father also played/sang this song to me as a child, loved it :)

  • i love you... im dussan from ecuador

  • beautiful! your voice is kinda reminiscent of norah jones

  • marry me

  • i envy your finger picking :(

  • sometimes god just gets it right

  • such a sweet girl, beaming possitive energy just with one smile..great cover of this absolute classic...

  • Well done girl, good job, very inspiring to learn. I am heading to my guitar now.

    Cheers from Melbourne

    :)

  • Great Job, Elizabeth Would Be So Proud Down There On Chestnut Street

  • Very delicate version of the famous freight train.

This girl is really magic, her amazing eyes, her sweet and melodic voice, her cute style...

How many guys dream to sleep and remember her voice and her smile ?

mayby i'm the first one, certainely....

Hope she will find hapiness in her life.

like i'm happy when i see her.

  • beautiful eyes!

  • Great job with this tune! Thanks for posting!

  • Wow...I swear at first I thought,aw....probably only one of those "beauties" showing off, but then.....You're even more beautiful in your singing and that amazing travis pick. Congrats. This sure is next in my list of folk songs I need to learn. Keep on.

  • Une belle petite perle au milieu de toutes les fausses!

  • That was great! Well done!!

  • I live in the town where Elizabeth Cotten grew up--and cross the rail road tracks she lived along as I bike to work every day. She's got several other wonderful songs of which my current favorites are Oh Babe It Ain't No Lie and I'm Going Away. You do a great job and its good to have this old song continue on.

  • You are very good at what you do.

  • This is my favorite version of this song. Absolutely gorgeous....you and the song.

  • We have added this to our playlist thank you.

  • Wow...

  • great vocal tone...Lone it!!!!

  • U r so beutiful honey;) Sings and looks like an angel;)

  • Nicely done, you have pretty eyes.

  • that was lovely, thank you.

  • Very nice rendition. Great feeling. Plus you could very well be the prettiest woman I have ever seen. Thanks you made my morning,

  • Although there are many versions of this on utube, I think I like yours the most. Maybe it's the little bluesy feel you give it with your voice, or the emotion you put into it, but it's very sweet. Thanks for posting it.

  • God, your voice is like butter...totally orgasmic.

  • youre eyes are absolutely stunning and to make it better you play the guitar like a saint!

  • Great cover and great song too... I've always flown in the past when I wanted to go somewhere far away, I recently flew out to California (from Arkansas) and stayed a few weeks, but randomly decided to take a train back. I rolled down about 2,200 miles of track from Los Angeles, CA to Walnut Ridge, AR and it was a wonderful experience (aside from trying to sleep in coach), the best I've ever had traveling. I made many friends along the way as well and saw so many places. Trains rule.

  • I kinda forgotten this song..untilI I heart your cover and now I know I used to like it very much I really like your interpretation..into my favbox and I'll featured the song for a while on my channel...

    Have a nice day.

  • you know how to sing! you do very well with your clear voice and nice fingers.

"Libba" is a saint, she looks like Mother Teresa, i don't want to use "was" for her because her song almost 110 years old will go on forever. people will sing this song like you did. you have done a good job girl!
