  • Vista loser get xp or even seven. Ps linux is too good for you

  • this is vista noob

get a penguin (linux) noobi noobi

  • Were you lying when you claimed this was Vista, or when you claimed every thing is open source? Even the desktop recorder is a demo of a closed source program. what a win fool.

  • @Yldii This is vista, you can remove the toolbar at the bottom, he's using a random dock, and there're plenty of programs that give desktops effects such at the cube. You'd just need a beastly processor in Windows.

  • @Yldii Oh, forgot to add, the shit on the right is google desktop.

  • TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • TROLOLOLOL

  • Everything is open source... except for the OS (if it really is Vista). :D

  • Fake.

  • this is windows vista `cuz if you look on file manager. it`s windows explorer and aero, and it`s not linux

  • I'm not gonna lie. That's not vista

  • OpenVMS kick ass!!!

  • Hahaha, Compiz puts this to an incredible amount of shame!!

  • All these effects feel kinda forced, not fluid like in beryl or compiz. They feel way more artificial than in linux if you know what i mean.

  • @koutslog: ubuntu is faster, safer, more stabil, free and can do the same as windows can (Some apps and games dont work for it though, 65% of all windows apps do work though.

  • @Kazooiej I prefer debian which ubuntu is built off of. Debian rocks.

  • @Kazooiej I prefer debian which ubuntu is built off of. Debian rocks. Knoppix rocks. Linux for ever.

  • Nice 65% RAM usage. I bet you have 1GB ram. That's about 650 mb RAM used. Ubuntu uses less than 200mb on boot up.

  • if this video is Vista so what is the point of that cube or pentagon or hexagon e.t.c. if windows has no Workspaces? Unless someone change the core and resigned windows, which is doesnt seam quite possible alone, there thousands of people work on windows and nobody got this far, but here he did it can you believe ! i dont lol*

  • Its Windoze because of winamp.....dumbass

  • Oh what and you're saying that wine can't run winamp?

  • more like, vista kiss ass

  • Lol! This HAS to be a skinned Ubuntu running compiz, widgets, awn, and a vista theme. There is no way in hell that windows would be able to run a 3d windows compositor that smoothly.

  • How many Linux "desktop video recorders" require registration? This seems to be windows..... Point is that compiz is OVER 9000 times better than the shit this vista has....

  • Lol! I didn't even notice that.

  • lol, "REGISTER NOW" .... "IT ONLY COSTS $100 A MONTH" .... "THIS IS SHAREWARE"

The only thing windows is actually good for, is getting your mailbox spammed out with companys advertising campaigns. As everything requires a registration..

Thats the main reason i switched to Linux. SLACKWARE FOR LIFE

  • I'd say "WHAT 9000?!" but you are correct and I don't doubt that statistic.

  • @KevinHaroldSkinner yeah thats what we call someone who knows how to use a computer... and RAM.

  • @KevinHaroldSkinner OR its YoDm3d and RocketDock running on vi$ta

  • linux had this like years ago lol

  • you know the cube effect seems really faster than compiz. Just kidding

  • mac osx snow leopard?

  • which ubuntu version do you use?

  • How interesting the poster hates commies yet uses open-source ...

  • haha this is sooo lame xD

  • copy of linux, purely fucking stupid. linux is for free so fuckin get it

  • Exactly right! Screw Windows, PENGUIN POWER

  • @PspHacker4lyfe You rule guy. I love you.

  • all these features are mac AND linux included FOR YEARS! ^^

sorry, but this is not an "ass kicking" os.. :)

  • stop using windows

why the fuck do people use this shit

  • ty!!!! i dont know why ether

  • did you seriously call that "vista kicks ass" ???? the only plus side i have seen to vista is that your never bored, because you're fixing it every two minutes. ARCHLINUX FTW!!!

  • yeah, compiz saves your hardware resources and let you use it to play need for speed and crysis and an arma2 and... oh wait, thoose games dont run in linux! D:

  • oh i can run it with Wubi ;)

  • Wubi sucks dude... i have used it and it sucks!

  • i mean, talking about ubuntu performance :P

  • o wait.... yes they do noob . ffs games that are made for windows runs even better on linux with wine doors then on vista or xp because they crash all the time. =D owned

  • I think you might want to read up on how to actually make WINE work.

  • i think you are a linux zealot

  • i mean, look at you, trolling on a windows video.

wine is not windows and never will be, i cant play a lot of games on wine but not all the games i want.

for example, arma is not supported, and crysis used to crash a lot when i had ubuntu installed.

  • and why do you play windows game...

what's the problem with linux game? they suck or what?

    lintard

  • Humm... My compiz fusion do more withouth using loads of ram and processor...

  • HAHA Thats ugly and slow and has NOTHING on Compiz.

    Nice framerate, noob.

  • Sorry bro, no where near as 'Compiz Fusion: A Quick Demonstration' by puttabutta, and that was on 19 June 2007 lol

  • yeah... with the new ubuntu 9.04...everything is a lot better....from the graphics rendering to the speed and efficiency!

  • . . . that was pretty lame actually. it is a shame that windows is STILL stone age compared to technologies that have been around for years.

  • You know what I find funny? When you bring up an arguement and try to play it off by acting like the bigger man. Unless you have something to support your statement, you just look like an idiot.

  • Then you can act like your not a stubborn twelve your old boy and follow suit. In what ways is Windows superior to Linux that Linux cannot follow through it's two methods of integrating Windows, either through Virtualization or through WINE. I'll provide the first argument, when doing a system update through Linux, It can update the entire system and still not require a restart, can Windows do that? NO, Does Windows need multiple steps to update? YES. Your turn now, how is Windows superior?

  • all you linux wussies can stop pushing reply too my name. i seriously do not care what any of you have too say. I am busy with my good operating system and playing games without the use of crappy applications. I am not defending vista any more because its better, I could care less, I know its better. So keep on replying to whomever and proving that its users have to defend it or its worthless. Just like a mac.

  • Obviously you do care about the situation, else you would shut up and face defeat that Windows in general, whether it be the 9X series, ME, NT, XP, Vista, or any other failed concoctions of the original DOS are just that, failures, They are virus-prone, hacker-prone, crash-prone, get easily bogged down with applications, and on top of that, they charge you for all that failure. Get your head out of Microsoft's ass and learn to use a better OS.

  • InFromTheTwilight:

He obviously doesn't know enough about computers to keep a steady, accurate arguement.

  • First of all, no one cares what kind of crap you believe in. Every operating system is different, which would mean it would be good or bad for different people. In my opinion, Windows is complete shit. But hey, that's just what I think.

  • I preffer not to deal with viruses, worry about privacy or cleaning out that bloated whore every time it slows down. Sure, Windows has more compatibility than other operating systems. However, this trend is coming to an gradual end.

  • Macs may be more expensive but they are more secure, and faster in comparison to Windows. You have nothing to back up your arguement, until you do... There is really no point.

  • Linux costs nothing and it's even more secure than MAC, NOW DIE.

  • FreeBSD(the basis for the darwin kernel) is more secure than linux.

  • Hate to break it to you, but compared to Linux and it's extremely powerful Compiz Fushion, Vista Aero is pure garbage.

  • "operating systems are for gaming, because when you can run any pc game and do 20 other things at once you know you have a good os."

Operating systems are for creating an interface between the PC hardware and user. I think Linux does this alot better than Windows.

It could improve in terms of gaming, but this only affects GAMERS, and saying that Linux is crap simply because it doesn't give you that extra 20 frames a second when you don't even have to pay for it, is a weak argument at best.

  • neat, you have an OS-X addon for vista. i use vista some, i prefer the opensuse environment with compiz just because it has so much more to offer. but it is no use arguing windows or linux because you have the misinformed windows fanbois who are die hard windows fans who maybe couldnt setup linux and hated it. you have die hard linux fans who wont use windows. i use both and as a computer repair tech, i find it better to know both. but i wont touch a mac.

  • can ubuntu play crysis with my 4 graphics cards??? nope. and until mac or anything linux can catch up too my pc with windows 7 then you can all suck it. mmm mmm windows 7. all linux is. is a copy of the good parts of windows and mac. but it does a terrible job of it. im a proud vista and 7 supporter. i got my vista release day and still have that same install no viruses and no blue screens because im not a retard like most. so go suck on it newbs.

  • ubuntu cant play crysis because there is no propper (m$)direct x for linux. . Its all about the money, dude. And no - Linux does not copy the good parts from Windows. Your statement shows a huge lack of knowledge. Use Wikipedia.

I dont know why there should be a point to flame around here?!

By the way: there is no level of non-retardness to avoid blue screens or kernel-panics. Unless there is a level in wich you could sense software or hardware crashing.

  • actually, a lot of games run in linux. quite well, i might add. there is cedega which runs many games very well. they are always keeping up with new games and some games dont even require it. i have seen people run wow under wine. some games have a native gl option and those games run fine in linux. but i dont argue, games run in mac too, so it isnt like linux cant do whatever a pc does. the only thing i havent been able to get linux to do is crash like windows does. *shrug*

  • damn you got windows too crash. no wonder you use linux. you better stay using that or you might make windows crash from mis use again. dont lie and say your a computer tech and then say you had windows crash. i have used vista for 3 years and not one blue screen or virus. also i am not misinforming anyone, everyone who uses vista likes its ease of use because it works with no problems, well except for people like yourself. damn its good to put linux users in thier place. dead last.

  • Ok if u like to send your private Pictures to microsoft and wait a day for boot up

  • i bought a new pc with vista. got a blue screen of death the first day i had it. hadn't even got on the internet or installed before it happened. after i rebooted and installed updates i got...a Blue Screen of Death!

  • see you do not know anything. Bought a new pc?? who buys a pc and knows what their talking about when it comes to anything computer related. try telling lies to people who wont know your lying instantly.

  • @mistawankaz ~ Yes PC as in Personal Computer.

  • Haven't had a blue screen once? Obviously you either have kept the machine locked in a closet for the past three years or your too inept at computers to get past the Welcome screen, pick your poison.

Truth be told? Windows perfectly fits the title of dead last. It was built on pure garbage, Bill Gates didn't even build the original DOS operating system, he bought it. Linux has a shit load of features that Windows can't handle, like instant printer use where windows would require a driver.

  • i think mr wanker is in the closet lol

  • dude go suck on a big one and learn to use a real os. end of story.

  • Linux is a real operating system, Your just to bent over old operating systems still trying to stay in the loop despite the fact that it is quickly becoming obsolete. Vista was a failure, hence the attempt at Windows 7 and the mahjovo project, or whatever it was called, I can't be bothered learning the crappy renames. Explain how Windows has all the viruses? It's not because it's more popular as you were led to believe little Windows follower, but because the administrative system is a failure.

  • yeah i'm inept because i started my pc and tried to start a program and then got a blue screen. first time starting the pc. but you can keep making massive assumptions as a short cut to thinking or you try not being a dick.

  • Well, I guess you're an idiot for buying a crappy computer.

  • @InFromTheTwilight ~ And my brother's computer & my mother-in-law's (yeah that could have just been her) & my wife's cousin. Dude, your nasty attitude isn't helping Linux. No, I didn't buy a crappy computer. I bought great one with a horrible OS. It was on sale for an amazing price & works great with Linux Mint.

  • lmfao did you seriously just say to use wikipedia, goto college like me and you will know wikipedia sucks. its morons like you that give a bad name to good os's. and yes you can tell when you will blue screen man, its called doing something like a retard witch causes blue screens. your a complete loser if i ever seen one. go use linux and not enjoy quality games or a good operating system i really do not care i was just stateing facts. vista is better. linux has nothing on it.

  • "use linux and not enjoy quality games or a good operating system"

Linux IS a good operating system, games aren't the sole purpose of an operating system, you're thinking of a console.

  • i play good games in linux... when i played eve, wow and guild wars. not to mention other games i download from oss repos and other games i play using wine and cedega. wanka is a troll imo

  • @arc4ne ~ Right on man! And I don't know about you but I enjoy plenty of great games via WINE!

  • Windows certainly is the gaming platform of choice, that's something Windows currently has over Linux, and the main reason I dual boot, it's had a massive head start on Linux in that respect.

Linux has made more progress in the past 5 years than any other operating system can claim, not to mention being a completely free alternative.

"all linux is. is a copy of the good parts of windows and mac"

    You're extremely ignorant.

  • "they made a ton of progress". it does not matter. if you start way behind and make only so much progress your still going to be behind. All i am going to say again to people replying is yes linux copied way to much with ubuntu and other operating systems. after using linux for a few years i have yet too find a reason to use it when windows can do the same thing. operating systems are for gaming, because when you can run any pc game and do 20 other things at once you know you have a good os.

  • i thought you went to collidge... your constant misuse of "too" tells me... PYOWNT!!!

not bad for this ged owner to catch a culledge stoodints messtakes.

  • how about you go back and get your GED again because we really do not care for the losers like yourself.

  • dont need windoze, use cedega

  • u can play crysis on Linux. With wine u have got DirectX Support

  • "u can play crysis on Linux. With wine u have got DirectX Support" yea you do. but after 6 weeks of me and 5 professors trying to get a stable performance with a code for DX10 supplied by linux. It was utter failure. Crysis on our super computer got 27 fps fully maxed out. my pc gets 55 with same settings. All we proved is linux is good for pc's that cannot handle newer things that a vista pc can do simply. but linux can do old stuff better than vista like run old games on less ram.

  • If you Compile the Crysis Source 4 Linux, it runs fast. But thats imposible, cause Crysis i sClosed-Source. Linux can run Unix and Windows programs. Windows can just run Windows Progs.

  • Wrong you can run linux apps in windows all day long. Its just not really all that well known because if they already have a windows pc there is nothing that linux could add to it. andlinux is the program and if you love linux and your copy of windows (7,vista or sadly your still on xp) you can use andlinux to install a copy of linux in with windows. thus adding every piece of linux in one neat little program. Its very legit as my college has tons of windows pc's using it to teach about unix.

  • Windows is a Gaming-Console. Linux is 4 all other. are to silly to understand Linux. Stay at windows. Thats the best 4 cocksuckers like u.

  • hey why dont you blow it out your ass loser. when you can use windows properly then people like me will give you respect. until then im am not going to reply to a loser like yourself. go use linux and see if i really care that your too simple minded to use a real operating system.

  • ubuntu rulsssssssss

    fuck bill gaytes

  • There was a plugin for wobbly windows under enlightenment like 10 years ago :P

  • How sad, those Vista addicts who don't know better than this crap have finally discovered cubes! It's a bad implementation of a desktop cube, but it works (somehow).

And what do I see there? A cheap Stardock-thingy?

Dude, get Linux. It kicks the ass out of Vista.

  • Ubuntu = Vista's god

  • Microsoft didn't do this. It was a 3rd party. The things that Microsoft DOES rip off from Linux, they actually do pretty well, like the real-time window previews, the glass effect with the Aero effects, the 3D window switching thing and the gadgets..

  • everything microsoft rips off from linux requires ten times more ram to run smoothly

  • I only said that Microsoft did it well - not that they did it efficiently :P

While it is true that Microsoft consistently releases "bloated" software, most of the time, it just plain works (provided you have a beefy enough computer).

Also, Microsoft isn't the only one doing the ripping off. For example, Microsoft originally created wobbly windows and used it as part of a Longhorn demonstration. Two years later (Vista STILL in development), Compiz released the wobbly windows plug in.

  • I've tried the Yodm3D cube for Vista. I find it very primitive. Dragging windows between screens is awful. Cube rotation is fixed on y axis. no win+tab compatibility... You don't find windows in places when you change side of cube. Not so ass kicking...

I've tried it some times ago, don't know if there were made some improvements in latest version

  • try using shock 4way instead of yodm3d

  • I gave shock a try, as you suggested.

No chance to drag windows between spaces, and it also duplicated the same window on two desktops (bug?) ...awfull. You must really try the difference between compiz cube and all those windows crappy cubes.

  • Wait, why is it called "Vista kicks ass" ? that's Linux with compiz or beryl and some nice dock like AWM.

  • no it's not, u can se that those effects are veeery limited to be compiz or beril, that dock is object dock with the default icon theme, the cube don't have much more to do and u neeed a veeeeery fast pc to run it all

  • This is a video response to the 'Compiz Fusion: A Quick Demonstration'?...

  • ubuntu rocks your shit.

  • I would like to see this demonstration, playing lets see 2 videos at the same time.

  • windbug$ for noob people, mac for noob with money and gay ass graphic designer... linux ftw.

  • Vista works fine. I use it, haven't had any problems with it.

The major issue with all the people complaining is that they don't understand exactly what goes into making an operating system. There's a lot going on under the hood.

  • I use vista and linux. I like the philosophy behind linux, and the gaming that you can only get with windows (WINE kills games, sorry to say. It's intended for simple apps). Vista has worked fine for me, though I can see how those with lesser computers can get annoyed (uses 2 gigs of RAM doing nothing). True there is a lot going on under the hood, but fairly simple things could make vista better (and in my opinion stealing effects from Linux is not one of them, though these are third party)

  • Vista so stole the dock thing from Mac gosh dude Vista can not come with 1 thing they made its sad.

  • dude...it's a program you download...duh...

  • and mac stole it from every graphical interface that Linux had before that. Shut the fuck up, you macfag.

  • And Linux stole its shit from GUIs that all the real UNIXes has well before Linux.

Besides the dock is most likely from RiscOS.

  • You are crazy. Beryl release in 2005. Mac has that effects from 2000 with Mac Os X.

  • I'm talking about the panel, dumbass.

  • shut the fuck up and go fuck yourself with your mac your fanboy piece of shit

  • that vista cube sucks compared to the compiz one

  • hellz yeah!

  • how do you do the 3d square lookin thing in vista? never knew it can do that

  • it's a program you download called yodm3d.

  • vista is fine. surprisingly, considering all the bad hype. It's Nothing terrible and I'm pretty damn tired of looking at XP for over a decade now.

  • A decade? I guess over a decade is now 7 or 8 years.

  • Alright, you caught me out. XP was released in 2001 Now go count frozen peas!!

  • What machine is this P4 HT? Or myabe you got no decent graphics card? cuz everything moves so darn slow...

  • haha this kicks ass? hihihi

    vista is NOT usable imho...

tryed to c/p a 1.3GB file into desktop and freeze... pff...

  • sry to burst ur bubble but vista sucks. All these features r stolen from ubuntu, a free much better operating system then vista. Vista also did a piss poor job copying

  • its over???

    ahaiuhaoiuahoiauhoaiuhaoiua

    im sorry body

  • This is the general population of America. Hooray for ignorant bliss.

  • LOL

  • and what's this about the video being fake? :))

since when a video is genuine or not judging by the speed it's being played at? :)) Has the uploader said that it's played at the same speed that it was captured? :)) No one said anything, you're just ridicculous.

    You have 5stars my friend...

I only have to agree that what you're using there is not just the OS... 3rd party is also involved

  • bottom line is : have at least 4gb of ram and dual core processor and VISTA moves amazing.

    You're all just cheap.

and don't even say that other OS needs less ram. Who gives a f*** about that ?

Other than that, VISTA x64 runs perfectly on the system I have.

You all weirdos keep using L***X and other sh*t... It's allright, really... I understand that it's just your way of saying you're different. When you're in fact just a bunch of weirdos...

  • Yeaaaaaaah. Linux is terrible. Especially when you can change anything you want on the entire OS by editing lines of code. Yeah that blows. Vista is a failed OS attempt and most people who purchase or run it are disatisfied. There's a reason more people are switching to Mac and Linux. And it's not the amount of ram in their computer.

  • WTF? We change stuff easier in Linux than on Windows.

Change themes, make themes, sounds, etc. All with a few clicks of the mouse,

  • It's verbal irony sir. Learn it.

  • Irony is performed best when you TALK to someone :P

The only thing indicating on irony is the yeaaaaah...

  • That's as if to say that you think there's anyone ignorant enough, including myself, that thinks such things about linux.

  • Sadly there are people that cannot see longer than there nosetips, so they talk bad about things they never even used.

  • Hey, I run Windows 7 without any problem.

The main reason people complain about Vista is because their computers are too sucky to run Aero (Like mine), and they have no idea how to turn it off.

Call me a weirdo, but I like Linux, and unless you don't own a cellphone or some other small handheld device such as MP3, you too use Linux.

  • Linux is overkill for small applications like that. Many embedded systems can run linux-like operating systems like the iPod and some routers, but the computer in your gameboy, DS, and cellphone is not linux, it would be proprietary operating system software. Linux is good, but a 50mhz processor is just a 50mhz processor, no matter how you skin it.

  • THis video is a fake! The video has been played faster than it actually is! IF I could rate this video 0/5 stars I'd actually do it!

  • No it's not.

  • Desktop Video Recorder is opensource too huh? ¬¬

  • lame...

  • Not a thing is wrong with Vista get a proper PC instead of hiding behind ur piece of shit computer. to run xp. there is so many ways u can make vista run smoothly on ur mediocre pc's anyway

  • thats incorrect! Vista is know for having major problems and one of which is a memory leak. I dont know about you but i dont like leakes. If vista was fine windows would not be scrapping the years of work on it to come out with windows seven a few years after vista. Also vista was shit when it was long horn and the scrapped that but left the name on the boot loader for vista.

  • objectdock isnt open source

  • wow Vista is pathetic. All it does it copy Linux and Compiz. FAIL

  • You must be retarded. This isn't Vista itself, this is about 3 3rd-party programs running over it, I think the idea is that Vista CAN look like this if you want it to.

  • Seriously? I think people don't care. Why? I didn't delete Vista because of the look and feel, but because of the raw power that it holds back.

Aren't you breaking some MSFT laws by doing this?

  • No, you can do whatever you want on your computer, this isn't hacking the OS, it's an add-on third party modification, which means it runs over it to add more features, just like any other piece of software.

  • You can't do anything you want in your computer. Thats the point with Windows, the only thing you actually own inside the computer are your own generated files, and possibly the hardware. Windows is owned by Microsoft, and unless you can afford buying Microsoft, you will only have a license to run Windows, you don't actually own it.

  • Ok well yeah, but running applications on top of it isn't something I would bet is against the license agreement (I don't really know for a fact, so correct me if I'm wrong).

Besides, in all honesty, I could care less what a ELUA says, I payed for the software, there's really no way they're going to know if I even hack it so big whoop, I do with my software what I please, the corporations can stick their licenses up their big money-leeching (well you know what)

  • There is a way they are going to know what you are doing with the soft. But still, paying for windows is worse than paying for manure. At least manure is usable.

  • I never actually payed for Windows, it always comes with the PC when you buy it from a company. If I didn't have any OS though I would probably end up having to pay for Windows anyway because it would be cheaper then replacing like 90% of the programs I run which are only for Windows, not to mention games, and well, if I went with linux then I couldn't get a single commercial program on it even if I wanted to pay for it.

  • Ummm... when you buy a computer with preinstalled software such as Windows, you actually payed for it, in other words, you paid the computer hardware AND the software...or else your computer would have been cheaper

  • In essence yeah, but I haven't come across the option to actually not get the OS with a pre-built computer, so it basically comes standard, and it's much cheaper then buying the OS separately.

  • true, especially looking at vista ULTIMATE where the OS itself costs nearly as much as a laptop, good point

  • As in you pay $100 to upgrade to Ultimate unless they give you a free upgrade which isn't all that rare- not that Ultimate is any better then premium versions or anything (they can be tweaked), but that's besides the point.

Vista Ultimate on top of hardware better then Mac's by FAR will still come out cheaper by FAR. Not my opinion, mere fact.

  • The majority of commercial programs are useless when faced with free, open-source software. Why pay for something when you can get the same or better for free? Even if you did find a program that didn't have its own similar open-source version, you can use WINE to easily use Windows programs in Linux. Ubuntu is far superior for things like programming. The only disadvantage is not having the availability for programs like Final Cut Pro.

  • because open-source is so buggy and fail 99% of the time, at least in my experience -.-

Wine is too, I tried installing stuff on it, half my Windows apps didn't get installed at all. Ubuntu = mess of buggy software.

  • As opposed to Windows, which is on service pack 3 with xp, and made the biggest flop ever with vista.

  • Exactly, minus the sarcasm. XP is very stable and does the job, and Vista is now one of the most stable Windows versions ever made.
