this is a momentum, they sang this last night at my Bishop appreciation and it is my song of confirmation. I am stuck on this classic, can't stop singing it. even much made it my signature for my text messages.
lord i love pastor timothy fleming with them old songs! so glad to hear a recording of him from back in the day!!! Lord that sounds like my grandfather on that piano!!! and i love that old school scream at 2:11 u dont hear that too much anymore lol.. thank u so much for posting!
This is one of my favorite songs. I've always considered Marion Williams' interpretation to be the standard by which others are judged. The barometer. Well, this approaches, even rivals her version; and I never thought it possible. And to think Rev. Fleming was only 21 at the time of this recording. Wow! I had never head his music before this month. Am I glad I "discovered" him!
We do this also in little ole Chauncey Ga, and Telfair County at Temperance New Hope MBC...I often sing this after my sermons. Wow he looked just like his late son Aric on the picture..
Lord, you know the storm is passing over! Glory be thy name, hallaleu..
This reminds me of our old church in the small country city in South Florida of Belle Glade. Boy I can't stand the piano, just good ole foot stomping and hand clapping for me!!!! Praise God!
this take me back to my hometown of Albany, GA ; when church was real. I pastor in Gadsden, AL and people don't truly worship God like our granparents generation
I remember the young Rev. Flemming when he was the pastor of Mt. Gilgal Baptist Church in Dry Branch, Georgia in the early 70's. In fact I was a little girl when he came to pastor that church and I believe this recording was done there because I can hear those same voices. Yes it is true he was so powerful he did not need a mic to preach or sing. And if you think he is preaching now, you should have heard him then. Thank you so much for posting this.
I receive it all so storm is passing over, by the Grace of Jesus

Now this is the way we do it here in GA. Listen to the sister hollering. Sounds like down by Flatwoods where all my folks are at.

I really love this, had it turned all the way up, and the lady screaming at 2:11 scared me silly.

Cmf281,
I feel you. I was listening while going about the house cleaning.
I almost lept onto a chair when she screamed.
