People need to realize...freddie is DEAD. He ain't comin' back. But if Queen decides to make another record and./or tour. Adam would be great as the lead singer.
When Adam does show with the Queen, we will hear him sing Bohemian Rhapsody in duet with Freddie Mercury. And Adam gets the screaming part. That will be perfect :D
Freddie was an admirer of great vocal talent. Adam's range is absolutely insane. He is also an incredibly passionate performer. Clearly, Brian was smiling, Roger was smiling....so was Freddie. : )

Adam Lambert sounds like a terrible fusion of Cher and Elvis Presley, except it doesn't work. At all. Both of them (Adam and Kris) suck and anyone who truly cares needs to go read a book about man's carbon footprint or rent Brokeback Mountain so that the next time people have to vote on gay rights, they have maybe an ounce of sympathy and understanding.

It's not screeching. He has a tenor voice (which mean he is naturally gifted) and has a mixed/head/chest voice singing technique . Go and google your wikipedia before you talk about screaming and screeching, or youtube.
He has amazing live vocals and singing techniques although he does make some bad notes but very far and few.
@minijmin correct..finally someone who gets it...most ppl are born with bass or baritone voices...so having a tenor right from the start helps, if you want to be singing old rock music ^^...adam has this sort of iron maiden-ish singing style...love it...could probaly do iron maiden live ^^ really well...

i strongly, strongly disagree with you, man. i think adam is better than freddie mercury. like...listen to any of freddie mercury's live stuff. any of it. then listen to adam lambert singing "we are the champions". he sings it in the same key as freddie did, and he sings it with more power, control, tone resonance, vibrato, etc than freddie ever did. in anything i've found on youtube. i always thought freddie was the best until i heard this guy.
Power and tone? I don't consider screeching to be power and/or tone. Control I'll give you in comparison to Freddie's live stuff. But I believe that's because this performance here is meant to be polished. When Freddie would sing like he'd kind of just go where his heart took him if you know what I mean. He had a way of singing differently then your used to from the Record, but still make it sound amazing. Which most live performers fail at. What made Freddie great was his heart and his flow.
I guess the main point I'm trying to get across is. Freddie never really tried to be polished when he performed live which is what I find so fun about his live performances. But when he does sing polished...MAN!!! He can sing the pants of anyone. Obviously you disagree, but as a Queen Fan and a Freddie Mercury Fan I had to interject with my opinion.
i know exactly what you mean by freddie's tendency to go where his heart took him. and it was amazing to hear. i'm writing purely about vocal talent though. freddie probably had more heart, soul, and overall understanding of what music meant to him and his audience. i just think that adam lambert has better trained his voice. it seems like it has no boundaries (no pun intended) whereas you can hear freddie mess up from time to time trying to hit notes.
and i also think that adam could learn a TON from freddie. all i've seen him do on 'idol' is show off and remind us repeatedly that he can hit higher notes than anyone you know. lol. i hope eventually he obtains that soul and connection to the music that you hear in freddie's stuff. but as far as vocal talent, i just hink adam is better. by the way, thank you so much for being civil. i keep getting attacked like it's blasphemous for me to think someone has finally surpassed freddie mercury. -_-

okay, so i've been listening to freddie mercury and adam lambert all night comparing. it was evident within the first two videos, but just to give them both a fair chance to mess up and do their best, i watched tons more. and even though it's hard to say, adam lambert is hands down a better singer than freddie mercury. i didn't think it could be done but he just is. based on no loyalties to either party. if you'd never heard either before, you'd probably like adam better. just saying lol
...i think you may have overreacted a little. anyway, what i was saying is not that freddie isn't a damn good singer by any means. he's one of the best that ever lived. and he's probably a better composer than adam will ever be. but as far as singing goes, if you have any ear for music you can hear that adam's control, range, vibrato, trills and overall singing ability exceeds mercury's. i'm not basing it on preference, i'm basing it on rationality.
While I think sexual orientation didn't play a huge factor, people love their underdog. American Idol puts a lot of effort into showing us what each contestant is as a person, and then they pretend the voters don't care. I personally believe the voters went for the guy they felt DESERVED IT, rather than the best artist.

I was not a big Adam fan throughout the show but there is no denying that he is crazy talented.. he dominated this whole performance - brilliant.. Kris was just like his subordinate.. he is in a league far beyond the others he deserved to win.

Adam did not sing horribly, he just simply sounds the same all the time, and when you have a high-pitched, redundant flat tone screechieness, it is very annoying, sounding as if trying out for Oliver the musical, all the time. Kris is not a better singer than Adam, but Adam is not great at it either. Kris does have a better voice, it's not annoying. ALLISON, MATT AND DANNY ARE BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE. i felt so inspired and definitely my hearts melts into dust. what a wonderful individual. he inspires me a lot and i'd learned different things from him. though he didnt won. still he is a 100 % winner from the beginning and util the end of the career. i dont care about the issues. I just care for one thing, that he is truly remarkable and he will be my idol since now and till the end. thank you so much for those fans who supported him. God knows who's the best! keep the spirit.=)

They sing different styles. Adam rocks it. Kris is a little more mellowed out. I don't see where that proves that Adam should've won.
Just proves that it's not Kris's genre, though I thought that he did pretty great when considering that.

Freddie was an admirer of great vocal talent. Adam's range is absolutely insane. He is also an incredibly passionate performer. Clearly, Brian was smiling, Roger was smiling....so was Freddie. : )

Adam Lambert sounds like a terrible fusion of Cher and Elvis Presley, except it doesn't work. At all. Both of them (Adam and Kris) suck and anyone who truly cares needs to go read a book about man's carbon footprint or rent Brokeback Mountain so that the next time people have to vote on gay rights, they have maybe an ounce of sympathy and understanding.

It's not screeching. He has a tenor voice (which mean he is naturally gifted) and has a mixed/head/chest voice singing technique . Go and google your wikipedia before you talk about screaming and screeching, or youtube.
He has amazing live vocals and singing techniques although he does make some bad notes but very far and few.

@minijmin correct..finally someone who gets it...most ppl are born with bass or baritone voices...so having a tenor right from the start helps, if you want to be singing old rock music ^^...adam has this sort of iron maiden-ish singing style...love it...could probaly do iron maiden live ^^ really well...

Adam did well but he's no Freddie Mercury. I mean Freddie is like a million zillion times better than Adam, he's the best singer probably in history. I bet Freddie would have loved Adam but there is no comparsion(sp?) when it comes to talent.

i strongly, strongly disagree with you, man. i think adam is better than freddie mercury. like...listen to any of freddie mercury's live stuff. any of it. then listen to adam lambert singing "we are the champions". he sings it in the same key as freddie did, and he sings it with more power, control, tone resonance, vibrato, etc than freddie ever did. in anything i've found on youtube. i always thought freddie was the best until i heard this guy.

Power and tone? I don't consider screeching to be power and/or tone. Control I'll give you in comparison to Freddie's live stuff. But I believe that's because this performance here is meant to be polished. When Freddie would sing like he'd kind of just go where his heart took him if you know what I mean. He had a way of singing differently then your used to from the Record, but still make it sound amazing. Which most live performers fail at. What made Freddie great was his heart and his flow.

I guess the main point I'm trying to get across is. Freddie never really tried to be polished when he performed live which is what I find so fun about his live performances. But when he does sing polished...MAN!!! He can sing the pants of anyone. Obviously you disagree, but as a Queen Fan and a Freddie Mercury Fan I had to interject with my opinion.

i know exactly what you mean by freddie's tendency to go where his heart took him. and it was amazing to hear. i'm writing purely about vocal talent though. freddie probably had more heart, soul, and overall understanding of what music meant to him and his audience. i just think that adam lambert has better trained his voice. it seems like it has no boundaries (no pun intended) whereas you can hear freddie mess up from time to time trying to hit notes.

and i also think that adam could learn a TON from freddie. all i've seen him do on 'idol' is show off and remind us repeatedly that he can hit higher notes than anyone you know. lol. i hope eventually he obtains that soul and connection to the music that you hear in freddie's stuff. but as far as vocal talent, i just hink adam is better. by the way, thank you so much for being civil. i keep getting attacked like it's blasphemous for me to think someone has finally surpassed freddie mercury. -_-

also, adam is at his peak here, along with all AI performers at this level, at their A game. And their only singing one song whereas freddie would sing a whole set, so you can't compare even tho i agree adam could hit the notes pretty well, freddies voice is better to listen to

okay, so i've been listening to freddie mercury and adam lambert all night comparing. it was evident within the first two videos, but just to give them both a fair chance to mess up and do their best, i watched tons more. and even though it's hard to say, adam lambert is hands down a better singer than freddie mercury. i didn't think it could be done but he just is. based on no loyalties to either party. if you'd never heard either before, you'd probably like adam better. just saying lol

...i think you may have overreacted a little. anyway, what i was saying is not that freddie isn't a damn good singer by any means. he's one of the best that ever lived. and he's probably a better composer than adam will ever be. but as far as singing goes, if you have any ear for music you can hear that adam's control, range, vibrato, trills and overall singing ability exceeds mercury's. i'm not basing it on preference, i'm basing it on rationality.

While I think sexual orientation didn't play a huge factor, people love their underdog. American Idol puts a lot of effort into showing us what each contestant is as a person, and then they pretend the voters don't care. I personally believe the voters went for the guy they felt DESERVED IT, rather than the best artist.

I was not a big Adam fan throughout the show but there is no denying that he is crazy talented.. he dominated this whole performance - brilliant.. Kris was just like his subordinate.. he is in a league far beyond the others he deserved to win.

Adam did not sing horribly, he just simply sounds the same all the time, and when you have a high-pitched, redundant flat tone screechieness, it is very annoying, sounding as if trying out for Oliver the musical, all the time. Kris is not a better singer than Adam, but Adam is not great at it either. Kris does have a better voice, it's not annoying. ALLISON, MATT AND DANNY ARE BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE. ALEXIS AND MEGAN TOO.

Adam was in the A zone cause he is Queen. He and the other idol sung horribly. Neither handled the song well at all. Off key does anyone know what that means?
