@spintecmaster That probably isn't, it looks like one designed for music. However, many saws are just regular saws that you cut wood with, and they sound just as good (though you might want to dull the sharp edge down a bit first before playing one of those!).

Hi Natalie,

You have a very good control of the saw, but I was very surprise at the lack of vibrato. The vibrato is produced by trembling with you knee and it makes the music more tuneful and pleasant to listen too. I have been playing for 50 years and my music can be seen on my you tube entry 'Phil Linder'. It will improve your sound by a 100%. Hope you don't mind my criticism!

i love the way she plays... she has the sound i want... i just started playing after wanting to play the saw for YEARS but not doing anything about it. i can get sounds with the bow, but i haven't figured out how to get sounds like these. it's only been five days and it does get better every single time i practice, but i still seem stuck with the same one type of sound, which basically sounds like a slide whistle going all the way in & all the way out. learning how to stop on notes is tricky...

theres a certain way to bend it, the best way i can describe it is to hold the top with your fingers facing down, thumb towards you and push with your thumb while pulling the saw down to the side with your other fingers on it. draw your dow along the opposite edge to the cutting edge, towards the middle should help (granted this is only how to make noise with it as i am an ameteur)

It was out of tune, yes, and the tone is adjusted by the lenght of the saw but you can bend it to gain the right pitch, which the player fails to do. But the technique is still kind of impressive I must admit. Good video!
