Nice Video - shame you don't produce them anymore.
For anyone that is still interested in high quality grainmills, you might want to have a look at hawos mills. They have a website hawos.com, but you can find them in google as well. PS: Love the music in the back ground :)
Let me assure you that the Country Living Grain Mill is still in full production and has been for over 35 years! It can be found on our website: countrylivingmills(dot)com, as well as through any of our 120 dealers. We're not going anywhere! Glad you like the music. It's nearly as old as the mill!
The Country Living Mill retails for $409. You can get more info online at countrylivinggrainmills(dot)com or call us at 360.652.0671 and we can answer any questions you have in person. Thanks for your interest!
The plates are made from high carbon steel and are guaranteed for a year. The rest of the mill has a lifetime warranty. With daily use I think you can expect the plates to last for at least 4 or 5 years. We just got a letter the other day from a gal in Idaho that has been using her mill for 30 years with the same set of grinding plates. She says her mill works just as well today as it did the day she bought it! Your mileage may vary :)
plan on buying one soon, I have read a lot of reviews and this one always comes out on top. SHTF is coming so also going to get the kit for the bearings, just need a little more dow!
toshibavoodoo, we have a sale going on in June and July. You can get the mill at a reduced price, plus get some free accessories. If you are interested, I can send you all the details.
Sealed bearings = complex irreplaceable parts in SHTF scenario, leads to no cake flour, leads to demoralization, leads to preference of soft meats, leads to cannibal holocaust! Warren Buffett was right!!! AIEE! Corona hand mill for the win and all around salvation.
@rhesuspieces81 FYI, the bearings are replaceable. We sell a kit (The Just-In-Case Country Living Grain Mill Repair Kit -- $29.95) for doing just that. The Corona is OK... if you like really crunchy bread!
They're both over $400, what do you like about the grain maker over the grain mill? I am just curious, I am into baking breads and was looking for my own mill to process grains.
Do you have experience or proof to back up that statement? Or are you just saying that because you work for the company that makes the grainmaker? I personally know someone who owns a grainmaker. They said that the handle broke after one day and that the mill is very hard to turn and produces minimal output. I own a Country Living Mill and I don't have any of those issues.
You have still offered no evidence to back up your statement that the "grainmaker grain mill is 100% better" than the Country Living Mill. Your profile links directly to grainmaker website. Are you related to the makers?
Of course you don't want to argue. You don't have a leg to stand on. Unlike you, I am not afraid to admit my affiliation. The maker of the Country Living Mill is my dad! Yes, I am biased, but you won't see me making ridiculous statements about the competition. To state that the Country Living Mill is cheaply made is asinine. I am intimately familiar with the parts that go into it. It is extremely well made. I'd be happy to delete your comments if you would like to retract them.
The song is wonderful. Looks like a good product...

I love my Country Living grain mill. After researching almost every mill out there the CL was my choice and the best value by far hands down.

We're glad you like it! We are biased down to our toenails, but we think it is the best hand grain mill in the world.

Hmm! What's the life expectancy of the grind plates? =) Looks very interesting!
