@shadowmario744 Here's my theory. You know how the magikoopas in Super Mario World have the ability to conjure up Koopa Troopas out of thin air just by transforming raw material like blocks? Those were just random mooks doing that. Imagine what a powerful magician like Kamek could do with a spell like that.

At some point Bowser realized he needed successors to control Koopa-occupied territories and continue the legacy of the Koopa Kingdom. So he had Kamek conjure up some children for him.

One for his competitive nature, one for his bad tamper, one for his spoiled personality, one for his insanity, one for his bullying, one for his childish traits and one for his cruelty. They all surpass their father in their respective areas but they do not possess the other faults.

@shadowmario744 This would explain why the Koopalings are so proficient at magic. They're magical constructs themselves so it just comes natural to them. It would also explain why Kamek watches over them and protects them--like Bowser himself, he views them as his children. Eventually Bowser must have decided that each of his children were too specialized. None of them could rule the entire Kingdom so Bowser had one last son created that would basically be an exact replica of himself.
