I've played the new XF and to but honest I don't like it no better than my XS7. The perfect set up for me is My XS7 my V-Sinth GT and the SPD-30 Octapad expanded. And the Macbook Pro of course.
I love it! But in all honesty, I never use them for live work. I have an ES8, X7, X6, Triton Pro that i use live on stage. I use the pads with RPS on the Rolands far more than arpeggiators. I can record original phrases, quantize them and call them in songs at will without sacrificing my keyboard playing surface. Just to let you know all my keyboards are MIDI'id together so do not exclusively use the sounds on the Rolands but call them from any of my keys. Advice: All keys have something diff.
@eltonjam Do not limit yourself to one make of keyboard, you are missing out. They all do something different and bring something different to the table.
a MO6 or MO8 can do the same with the standard sounds - add some compressor effects with cubase and you won´t feel a difference...but add a Juno you'll be amazed ;)
korg has got 1 karma arpegiator processor... the motif has several...
and also we are talking here about the arpegiator and not about the quality oft the voices which is actually more important for a serious musician... m3 is good... no doubt about that but if you look about the money yamaha put into developing the natural sounds (piano, organ, flute...) you see, waht is obvious hearable... motif's voices are more realistic... thats what counts

The problem is that you cant create good arps with patterns. After 4 seconds, when
you heard the pattern and it repeats over and over again.... zzzzzzzz.

If you buy a workstation and it makes you money down the road, Good investment. If not, shut the hell up and start practicing!!!

Not amazing by comparing with the old Motif ES.

@jeffdigit but still better. So if someone's in the market for a new Motif that will stay new for longer... XF is the way to go

In arp section korg m3 is still better than XF. Karma 2 technology cant easily be beaten.
