In order to reconnect and kick your old buddies ass again, instead of driving 3000 miles away, you'll just play online instead with those same old friends, not necessarily random ppl. enjoy!
I love 3-D fighters but what has kind of kept me at bay from this despite it's praise is the deep learning curve (I simply don't have time to take much time for that with studies and all, hell I'm a novice on Tekken and that's my favorite fighter) and I haven't played any of it's past games

Virtua fighter is a bit robotic and that's what makes it bad....street fighter IV is better at this part...the moves are not robotic and you have a great feel when you play online
@RealItyRoMaNyA Street Fighter has always been robotic in the fact that when characters do standing attacks, they do not advance while hitting. So must of the close fight is done crouched and that sucks.
I play tekken, virtua fighter, street fighter, mortal combat and some a bunch other fighting game. virtual fighter is the best, i have to say. the dialog is cool, the move is smooth and responsive, graphic is dope, it triumphs all other games

I know a guy who is so good he gets wins strikes of 70 + and he only plays with the wooden thingy that is everyone randomly... @fatboy10121 Virtua Fighter 5 Official Strategy Guide made by Bradygames is a great guide for this game if you need help in understanding the game. also there are youtube videos for everything that's in the guide to show you what they are talking about so if you don't understand the guide (even though it's very clear) youtube it. Also if you have a ps2 try getting virtura fighter 4 evolution it has tutorials on the game that explain everything as well.

@Frijolescharros1 you are retarded,VF5 is more fluid and flows more naturally than Tekken 6(played the 360 and ps3 versions and hated the sluggishness of most characters).Dead or Alive,Virtua Fighter,SSFF 4, and Mortal Kombat are more fluid and better then Tekken.Tekken characters were better on Ps2 when they were more fluid and responsive.
VF5 should have had a training mode similar to VF4: Evo. That would make it easier for new players to get into the game. Oh well, I can only hope that VF5R gets ported to current generation consoles with that feature available and for a decent retail price.
I've played this on the PS3 and 360, and the 360 version is slightly better. It has online play, and the graphics are more polished. Legend has it that Sony wasn't happy about SEGA releasing this on the 360. I'm surprised there wasn't an updated version the same as with number 4 (re-released as VF4 Evo). I've virtually hammered this, so I'm looking forward to number 6.
What pisses me off is that big companies just forget about the single player of a game. That is how gaming has been for decades. Now it's going down the shit-drain.

The only smart thing they said is you need an Arcade stick. Only problem is they recommened the baseline hori stick that breaks in a month. So they were n00bs even on that count. Overall N00b review.
PS3 will never have an ONLINE patch. The bastards at SEGA say its "unpatchable" Then two months later a Sega Vf dev team rep said he'd like to add a rumble patch when Dual Shock 3 came out. Tyhes twits didnt know SHIT about the game, and did the freaking WORST review of a game I have ever seen. They didnt talk about the clash system, or the Offensive move. Or Zero frame throws. This review was absolute crap. why review the online version BEFORE its out in stores? Stupid.
virtua fighter 5 boast the best graphics in any fighting game to date. its the depest, most realist fighting experience you will ever get. it is not a pick up and go game. it takes time, patience and the learning curve will have you weeks on end mastering each character. Doa fans and tekken fans dont buy this game and expect you gonna mash your way through with super speed and 36 hit combos. the graphical detail is astounding and it shines in each character and their level of design.
where is the ps3 online patch ? i paid 50quid at launch for vf5 and as a ps3 owner i've been shit on..and apparently the ps3 version out sold the 360 version 4:1.. As far as i know the ps3 version has had zero updates.. thanks for taking my money SEGA thank you and fuck you.

Please. Tekken will SHIT on Virtua fighter's face, every single time. Have you even seen tekken 6? Running on high definition. Not to mention that the animations is so much better. And it has a 40 character roster. tekken > virtua fighter

i think VF is high on strategy but i find the gameply rigid and unflowing... falling behind DOA. but DOA is the one game a despise due to no strategy at all- rock, scissors, paper: throw a tech and get reversalled, try a reversal and get hit..

How can you say that? Tekken has the biggest roster and command list compared to any fighter out right now. I am not saying tekken is better because that is all down to personal opinion. Tekken is going to win simply because it is going to be online on both systems. I am not saying tekken is better I just know that everyone wants more online fighters. all good fighting games you spoke of had something to offer. They were all good in their own way. Tekken and soul caliber appealed to me more.
Tekken is 100% more aproachable than VF imo, DOA is rock paper scissors and isnt too entertaining when u get used how to parry. VF is complex and takes skill to master and play, and that might be fun for some ppl but Tekken gives the ppl less skilled at fighters who dont go to evo every year a chance to learn some combos. Tekken has more success than both but all three are decent games but ive always preffered Tekken.

Dude i agree with you 100% button mashers annoy me too, but in some cases they work, like when i was still a tekken newbie i used eddie and mashed my way through arcade ended up learning his best combo after that i learned a few more and was a button masher no more, just remember 1 key thing, button mashers are eithers newbs or noobs
well man if u used eddie offline its another story but if someone who cant play eddy comes online and button mashes im pretty damn sure he wont win more than 1 round against me...

well yeah but mostly u can just catch them off if they are spamming punch u use a sweep to make them fall if they do ground shit with eddy every char has stuff to cancel it easily just gotta know their movelist well..
king is the king of combos. Back during tekken 3 I bought a book that gave all the tekken moves and combos so i learned a lot of eddies and hwoarangs moves and the creators kept those combos all the way up to 6. It's been great

VF5 should have had a training mode similar to VF4: Evo. That would make it easier for new players to get into the game. Oh well, I can only hope that VF5R gets ported to current generation consoles with that feature available and for a decent retail price.

I've played this on the PS3 and 360, and the 360 version is slightly better. It has online play, and the graphics are more polished. Legend has it that Sony wasn't happy about SEGA releasing this on the 360. I'm surprised there wasn't an updated version the same as with number 4 (re-released as VF4 Evo). I've virtually hammered this, so I'm looking forward to number 6.

The only smart thing they said is you need an Arcade stick. Only problem is they recommened the baseline hori stick that breaks in a month. So they were n00bs even on that count. Overall N00b review.

PS3 will never have an ONLINE patch. The bastards at SEGA say its "unpatchable" Then two months later a Sega Vf dev team rep said he'd like to add a rumble patch when Dual Shock 3 came out. Tyhes twits didnt know SHIT about the game, and did the freaking WORST review of a game I have ever seen. They didnt talk about the clash system, or the Offensive move. Or Zero frame throws. This review was absolute crap. why review the online version BEFORE its out in stores? Stupid.

virtua fighter 5 boast the best graphics in any fighting game to date. its the depest, most realist fighting experience you will ever get. it is not a pick up and go game. it takes time, patience and the learning curve will have you weeks on end mastering each character. Doa fans and tekken fans dont buy this game and expect you gonna mash your way through with super speed and 36 hit combos. the graphical detail is astounding and it shines in each character and their level of design.

being a fighting game lover- i prefer tekken ontop due to story, gamplay and system: allowing noobs to have fun, yet, having a strategic depth for hardcore fans.
i think VF is high on strategy but i find the gameply rigid and unflowing... falling behind DOA. but DOA is the one game a despise due to no strategy at all- rock, scissors, paper: throw a tech and get reversalled, try a reversal and get hit..
however i cant compare SF due to that i see it on an "unrealistic basis"

How can you say that? Tekken has the biggest roster and command list compared to any fighter out right now. I am not saying tekken is better because that is all down to personal opinion. Tekken is going to win simply because it is going to be online on both systems. I am not saying tekken is better I just know that everyone wants more online fighters. all good fighting games you spoke of had something to offer. They were all good in their own way. Tekken and soul caliber appealed to me more.

Tekken is 100% more aproachable than VF imo, DOA is rock paper scissors and isnt too entertaining when u get used how to parry. VF is complex and takes skill to master and play, and that might be fun for some ppl but Tekken gives the ppl less skilled at fighters who dont go to evo every year a chance to learn some combos. Tekken has more success than both but all three are decent games but ive always preffered Tekken.

Dude i agree with you 100% button mashers annoy me too, but in some cases they work, like when i was still a tekken newbie i used eddie and mashed my way through arcade ended up learning his best combo after that i learned a few more and was a button masher no more, just remember 1 key thing, button mashers are eithers newbs or noobs

king is the king of combos. Back during tekken 3 I bought a book that gave all the tekken moves and combos so i learned a lot of eddies and hwoarangs moves and the creators kept those combos all the way up to 6. It's been great
